Chordsmen Quartet to Hold 3rd Anniversary Sing/ CD Release Concert

Written by Staff on May 5, 2016 – 6:13 pm -

Chordsmen

Chordsmen

The Chordsmen are located in Greenville, SC. They consist of Harold Jennings, Jerry Jennings, Stephen Williams and their new baritone, Randy Leslie. They invite you to join them for this very special evening in their career when they will be releasing a brand new project, as well as holding their Third Anniversary Celebration.

When speaking to Jerry last night, he shared this about the upcoming project: “This new project happened all at once. We were approached by The Grissops, a great group of friends that introduced us to our producer, Eddie Howard, who offered us a fantastic deal on a live recording session. I love to just get out of the way and let God handle it all. This is definitely the best project that we have done and we want Him to be glorified.”

It will be a very special night indeed as they honor founding members to Thomas Jennings and his brother, Gary Jennings. Also joining them that night are some former members: Keith “Doc” Jennings, Dale Loudermilk, Don Knight, Bubba Epps, Zack Epps, Ted Brady and Alex Wengerd. Some songs that you can expect to hear that night are: “I Wouldn’t Take Nothing For My Journey Now,” “Somebody Stand Up,” “Whiter Than Snow,” and “I Still Cling To The Old Rugged Cross.”

Their publicist, Andrew Brunet, releases this statement: “The Chordsmen are a great group of men, who truly show their love for God and minister to the lost about the One who died for all of our sins, Jesus Christ.”

You can join them May 21st at New Hope Baptist Church in West Pelzer, South Carolina. They will also be holding a spaghetti dinner for $7. You can find out more information about the Chordsmen on their website, http://facebook.com/ChordsmenQuartet

Happy Thanksgiving from Classic Artists Music Group

Happy Thanksgiving from classic artists music group

Happy Thanksgiving from the Pine Ridge Boys

2019 Thanksgiving Thoughts from the Classic Artists Music Group family.

THE PINE RIDGE BOYS:

The Pine Ridge Boys are thankful for the many blessings that God has given us. We saw tragedy turn into a newer bus. We have seen lives changed through a song. We are blessed over and over again, too much to mention.

Notice that in Psalms 118 it starts with this verse and ends with the same thing:

Psalms 118: 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endures forever.

Psalms 118: 24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalms 118: 28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

Psalms 118: 29 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endures forever.

We don’t say this lightly, but we are grateful for what God has done in our own lives.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Sheltons

THE SHELTONS:

This year has been a joyous and blessed year for the Sheltons. We are blessed with family and friends that have been with us every step of the way. We have met so many wonderful people in our travels and concerts. This year we count every mile a blessing as we have seen God touch people through our songs. Since 1959 that has been our mission; to be a blessing with our songs. But today through our songs you bless us with your prayers, support, encouragement and friendship. Thank you!

Happy Thanksgiving from classic artists music group

Happy Thanksgiving from Charlie Griffin

CHARLIE GRIFFIN:

This year I am more aware of how fluid life can be. Our family and traditions are different with the passing of Mom and others in our family. Today, I hold family and friends a bit closer and relish the moments we share. We laugh and play harder; we truly make memories to cherish. In my music and shared word events, I appreciate those who take time to come visit with me. I appreciate their love, friendship, support and encouragement. In my daily journey, I find more blessings than I deserve from God’s saving grace, forgiveness and mercies to having my needs and even desires met in real time. Jeremiah 29:11 holds true on this journey. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Happy Thanksgiving from classic artists music group

Happy Thanksgiving from The Chordsmen Quartet

THE CHORDSMEN QUARTET:

We are so thankful for the grace, love and mercy that God has bestowed upon The Chordsmen Quartet in 2019. We have seen folks saved and blessed through our ministry. He has touched us all in our families,  our health and given us the opportunity each day to proclaim the good news of Jesus in song. Our prayer is: “God, hide us behind the cross, so that you can be seen in everything we do.”

Lorraine Walker: September, Seasons, and SGNScoops

Written by Staff on September 27, 2019 – 3:09 pm -

Editor’s Last Word for September 2019 SGNScoops Magazine by Lorraine Walker

(Photo above depicts September in Ontario)

Thank you so much for reading to the very end of the 121st issue of SGNScoops digital magazine. I am so happy that our magazine has been read and enjoyed by so many for so long. I give my thanks to previous editors, Kelly Burton and Rhonda Frye, and to my publisher, Rob Patz, for leading the way and teaching me the ropes of editing such a unique and constantly changing vehicle for the love of God. Our main purpose for SGNScoops is, and has always been, to be used by God to share his love and grace with everyone who reads it. We pray that as long as he can use us, we will be available for him.

September 2019 SGNScoops Magazine

September 2019 SGNScoops Magazine

That is also the message that we have been receiving from others who are celebrating anniversaries along with us in this issue. It is always a privilege and an honour to talk with Scott Fowler of Legacy Five. What a pleasure it was to share in the last concert with tenor, Josh Feemster, and baritone, Scott Howard. Scott Fowler had nothing but praises for the gentlemen who were leaving as well as the gentlemen who were coming in to take their place. Over their 20 years, Legacy Five has seen fewer changeovers than many in this industry. That says a lot about his style of leadership, integrity and love for this music.

Speaking of leadership and integrity, Mike Moran and the Torchmen have been representing Canada with excellence for 50 years. It was a pleasure once again to present their ministry to our readers.

The artists we have featured in SGNScoops, like Carol Barham, Ivan Parker, the Pine Ridge Boys, and the Chordsmen, all love their music, and share the love of God this music. We thank all of the artists that have graced the pages of our magazine for being ambassadors for Jesus Christ.

Scott Fowler and Lorraine Walker

Scott Fowler and Lorraine Walker

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the writers, creative designers, editors, proofers, and all those who have shared their talents both in the magazine and website. Thank you for sharing your time and your lives with SGNScoops.

In the ten years I have been talking to artists for SGNScoops, one thing I have learned that is universal, regardless of who or where you are; if you are alive, you are going through something. If you are in a good season, your bad season is still visible in the rearview mirror. If you are in difficult circumstances, you aren’t alone.

I may be living with physical pain, but the person next to me might be enduring a recent death of a loved one. You might be working your way through deep depression while that artist on stage may have a child in the final stages of cancer. Or maybe they are facing bankruptcy while that joyful saint in the front row left a loved one with dementia at home with a caretaker.

We all experience heart-rending circumstances regardless of who we are. We can spend our time asking, “Why?” Although maybe the question should be “Why not?” We live in a fallen world filled with disease, death and debauchery. As Christians, we should not expect a free pass. What we should expect, as we grow closer to Jesus, is to join him in suffering. This pain becomes part of our testimony as others watch how we handle tough times. And as my friend Mike Moran assures me, it came to pass. Even if you can’t see the end of your tough time, I pray you know that Jesus sees your tears and he is right there with you. He has a purpose for your pain. He loves you too much to let you suffer for no reason, even though you may not know what that is until you reach heaven.

My dear friend who is suffering, may I suggest that asking for a reason isn’t the best use of your prayer time? I say this after spending many nights asking the same thing. Tell Jesus where it hurts. Pour out your heart. Then start to tell him about your friends who are hurting. Ask him to meet their needs. As you see the Lord work in the lives of others, you may be thrilled to find that he is answering prayers for you as well.

Lorraine Walker

Lorraine Walker

I pray today that you will be filled with the joy of the Lord, as he blesses you with enough mercy, grace, bread and love to make it through the day. I pray this issue, and every future SGNScoops Magazine, will deliver his love to your heart, every time.

I’d love to hear from you. Write to me at lorraine@sgnscoops.com.

July 2019 SGNScoops Magazine

Here it is, the July issue of SGNScoops Magazine. We hope you take a moment to relax in the shade and read about some great gospel artists.

We are thrilled to present Carmen on our cover this month. This ageless artist has just recorded a new album along with some great Southern gospel vocalists and we know that you will be hearing him a lot on your favorite gospel music radio program. Special thanks to Jennifer Campbell for her interview with Carmen.

The Kingsmen are hot on the radio charts right now as well, with their latest hit, “Victory Shout.” John Herndon was privileged to hear them in concert recently and chatted with them. We know you will enjoy this feature.

Les Butler and Friends features Brad Stevens of the Stevens Family Tradition. Also featured this month is industry insider, Derek Simonis, of Icon Destinations. Additionally, we are pleased to introduce Johnathan Welsh from the U.K., and another great quartet, the Chordsmen.

Don’t miss Bill Dykes’ Meet the Pastor with Jamey Ragle, Randall Hamm’s CD reviews and Vonda Armstrong”s DJ Spotlight.

All this and so much more for your reading pleasure this month. We hope you enjoy a whole magazine about the love of God and his power working through the lives of gospel artists and their audience. If you have any questions or comments, please email me at Lorraine@sgnscoops.com.

Pine Ridge Boys Will Recording First Live DVD At Creekside 2019

Written by Staff on April 4, 2019 – 9:18 am -

Meet the Pine Ridge Boys Again For the First Time

Pine Ridge Boys

The 2019 Creekside Gospel Music Convention is now in its eighth year at Pigeon Forge, Tenn., held Oct. 27 – 31.  On Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, the Pine Ridge Boys and Chordsmen Quartet will be kicking it off in style, as the Pine Ridge Boys will be recording their first live CD and DVD during the Sunday night concert.

Mark Cash with Larry Stewart. Pine Ridge Boys

Mark Cash with Larry Stewart

“Recording a live project is something my Dad wanted to do, but never did,” said Larry Stewart of the Pine Ridge Boys, which were founded in 1963. “The group never recorded a concert (to be released) to the public all these many years. So, when Classic Artists Records began discussing the possibility of a live recording, everything just seemed right. The project will honor Jim Stewart (my Dad), Wayne Shuford, Miles Cooper, Charles Burke, Darius Shuford and all Pine Ridge Boys members over the years.”

Charlie Griffin

Classic Artists Records’ Charlie Griffin stated, “The interaction between concert goers and the Pine Ridge Boys is personal. Their concerts are filled with positive songs and energy, touched with laughter and words of encouragement. That relationship can only be captured on a live recording. We feel the Pine Ridge Boys are able to share that excitement every time they take the stage, whether church or a concert venue.”

Rob Patz

Rob Patz

“I’m so excited that the Pine Ridge Boys have chosen to shoot a live video at our Creekside Kick-off concert,” says Rob Patz, owner of Creekside Gospel Music Convention. “It’s their very first live DVD and an event not to be missed. Larry and the guys have stood with us since the first Creekside convention in 2012, and we are thrilled to be their venue for this historic event.”

Ken and Jean Grady

Classic Artists Records and the Pine Ridge Boys are collaborating with Gospel Music Today for the recording. “We are looking forward to working with one of our favorite quartets at one of our favorite gospel music events: Creekside Gospel Music Convention,” Gospel Music Today’s Ken Grady stated. “Opening night always draws a great and enthusiastic crowd and we are looking forward to this night and project.” Wise Choice Promotions, led by president Lori Wise, will be handling all audio interactions with conventional radio, satellite, internet, podcasts and pay on demand medium.
