Katelyn DyessTo The Girl That Feels Insecure

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:13-16

You feel like your stomach is too big. You don’t have a thigh gap like that girl on Instagram. Instead of having perfect curls or straight hair your hair is a frizzy mess. You feel like your makeup is too simple. Your clothes aren’t cute.

These are just a handful of insecurities that girls have. Everyone struggles with insecurities. I have them. The girl next to you at school has them. Even the influencer you follow on Instagram has them.

I challenge you today to go stand in front of a mirror and say three things you love about yourself. Just three simple things. My hope is that after you do that you’ll begin to realize how beautiful you are.

God made you perfect in His image. He made you exactly how he wants you to be. He loves you and thinks you’re beautiful just the way you are.

My prayer today is that you’ll truly begin to love yourself and believe that you are beautiful.

To The Girl That’s Healing From The Hurt by Katelyn Dyess

Katelyn Dyess To The GirlHe heals the broken-hearted and bandages their wounds. (Psalm 147:3)Oh, sweet girl, I know what it feels like to go through this. You’re slowly but surely healing, but yet that pain and hurt is still there.

You’re trying to figure out the new normal. It’s uncharted waters for you.
You’re trying so hard to forgive and get back to normal but yet that pain is still fresh.
I understand what it’s like to go through this. I know it’s hard. I know it’s painful to pick up piece by piece of your heart and try to put it back together.
I want you to know that even though it’s not easy and it’s dark right now that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
God is with you every step of the way. It might not feel like it but I promise you he’s right by you, walking alongside you through this.

It will get better. I can promise you that.

To The Girl Struggling With Forgiveness

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in Heaven may forgive you your sins. (Mark 11:25)I know what it’s like to have hurt and bitterness in your heart. You feel like you shouldn’t forgive those who have wronged you. You feel like it’s impossible to forgive that person that hurt you so badly. I’ve been there. It’s not a good feeling. When I was at a youth camp one summer I went up to the altar because I needed to forgive some people in my life. The pastor’s wife that prayed over me that night told me to say out loud “I forgive ________.” It didn’t immediately heal me but it did help me to begin the process of forgiving those people in my life. God has called us to forgive those who have hurt us and wronged us.

Forgiving that person can help you move on and walk into a season of healing. So, I encourage you to just say out loud “I forgive _______.” It won’t heal you right away but it will help start the process.

I also encourage you to pray that God will help you forgive that person. Even journaling a letter to that person can help you get all of those feelings off of your chest. Forgiveness isn’t always easy but it is a start for healing. I hope this helps you start a journey of forgiveness, healing, letting go, and moving forward.

Thanks,
Katelyn
