DAILEY & VINCENT HONORED WITH GMA DOVE AWARD NOMINATION FOR BLUEGRASS ALBUM OF THE YEAR FOR SINGING FROM THE HEART

NASHVILLE, TENN.  (February 18, 2011)—Award-winning bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent received a GMA Dove Award nomination this week for Bluegrass Album of the Year for their all a cappella gospel collection, Singing From the Heart, on Rounder Records.
“Gospel music is near and dear to us, and recording this album was a real joy.  We’re honored to be recognized by our friends in gospel music,” said Jamie Dailey.
The project began in 2001, several years before Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent began their career as a duo.  An album of a cappella spiritual songs, it honors the Church of Christ’s practice of singing without instruments and benefits the Tennessee Bible College in Cookeville, Tennessee, which is a Church of Christ institution.
“We’re so pleased that the money raised from the sale of the this CD helps fund scholarships for deserving students at the college,” added Darrin Vincent.
To record the album of quartets, Dailey & Vincent enlisted help from the very best of vocalists from the worlds of bluegrass, southern gospel and country music.  Guests on the album include tenor Andy Ball; bass Glenn Dustin; tenor Anthony Facello; baritone Tony King; tenor Shawn Lane; bass Jeff Pearles; as well as Doyle Lawson, who sang baritone on “Near the Cross;” and Molly Skaggs, daughter of Sharon White and Ricky Skaggs.
The 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards Show will be taped live at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on Wednesday, April 20, and will air on gmc Easter Sunday, April 24, at 7 p.m. EST.
Dailey & Vincent are the current three-time IBMA Entertainers of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year.  They also received IBMA Awards for Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year in 2008 and 2009, and they were awarded Gospel Group of the Year/Contemporary at the SPBGMA Bluegrass Awards for the last three years.  They recently attended the GRAMMY Awards, where they were nominated for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for “Elizabeth” from Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers, on Cracker Barrel/Rounder Records.  More information is available at daileyvincent.musiccitynetworks.com.
