DAILEY & VINCENT NAMED BLUEGRASS ENTERTAINERS OF THE YEAR FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

NASHVILLE, TENN.  (October 1, 2010)—Dailey & Vincent claimed their third consecutive Entertainer of the Year title at the 21st Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards show held last night at the Ryman Auditorium.  In doing so, the Rounder Records act joined nine-time Entertainers of the Year The Del McCoury Band as the only artists to bring home the IBMA Entertainer trophy more than two times.

When accepting the award, Jamie Dailey explained that he and Darrin Vincent gather their band members before each show and remind them of their responsibility.  “We tell them that there are people out there who have come to the show who might be sick, might have financial trouble, marital trouble, any kind of trouble you can imagine, so we tell the guys it is our job to go in there for that hour and a half, hour and 45 minutes and make their troubles go away.”

Dailey & Vincent were also named Vocal Group of the Year for the third consecutive year, and they received their second Album of the Year award, for Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers on Cracker Barrel/Rounder Records, which was released exclusively through Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® in February.  The album contains bluegrass versions of twelve of the Statlers’ most-loved songs.  It debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums chart, where it spent 9 weeks in the top spot and 19 weeks in the top 3.  It debuted at #19 with the Hot Shot Debut on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.  The album also earned the IBMA award for Best Graphic Design for a Recorded Project, which was presented to Cracker Barrel Marketing Manager Julie Craig at a special awards luncheon earlier in the day.

In addition, Dailey & Vincent received trophies for their participation in the Recorded Event of the Year, which was “Give This Message to Your Heart” on Larry Stephenson’s 20th Anniversary CD.

During the awards show, the group performed “Elizabeth” from the Statlers’ tribute disc and were joined midway through the performance by the song’s writer, Statler Brother and Country Music Hall of Fame member Jimmy Fortune.

Dailey & Vincent will perform at Bluegrass Fan Fest at the Nashville Convention Center today, October 1, at 7:20 p.m.  Tickets are available on site at the Church Street entrance to the convention center.  They will also meet fans and sign copies of their CD’s at the museum store at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum® at 11:00 a.m.

On Saturday, October 2, Dailey & Vincent will perform their inaugural Homecoming Concert at the Jackson County High School Football Field in Gainesboro, Tennessee, at 5:00 p.m.  Tickets are $15, and all proceeds go toward the newly formed Dailey & Vincent Helping Hands Fund, administered through the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.  The fund benefits underprivileged children in Jackson and DeKalb Counties in Tennessee.  For tickets and information about the concert, visit www.daileyvincent.com.
