Stanford, Kentucky  It all started Thursday, November 12th in what was supposed to be just another Gospel concert as Jim Sheldon celebrated his annual Homecoming. Jim, known as The Positive Cowboy from his part on the Music City Show and the renowned Blackwood Brothers Quartet, from Memphis, Tennessee put on a remarkable program.

What started as “just another” soon developed into an experience to be remembered. The energy and excitement was reminiscent of those old fashioned All Night Singings made popular back in the day that the Blackwoods and Statesmen would hold crowds attention until way in the night.

Jim Sheldon commented, “Wow what a great night! The house was full and the spirit of the Lord was in the House. Billy Blackwood and the Boys did an awesome job as usual.”

This third generation of Blackwood Brothers Quartets performed at the First Baptist Church of Danville, Kentucky. The quartet, now in its 81st year of performances — was hosted by Jim Sheldon, “The Positive Cowboy,” who organized the concert. Sheldon is a resident of nearby Stanford, KY, and he donated more than 20 percent of gifts from the love offering taken at the concert to the Sunshine Childrens Services of Kentucky. Co-sponsors of the gospel concert included South District Baptist Association, Mercer Baptist Association, Lincoln County Baptist Association and Central Baptist Association.

The highlight of the concert and the closing song was Jim, The Positive Cowboy and the Blackwood Brothers teaming up for the last song of the night, “I’m Redeemed”. This song is on Sheldon’s latest release of the Season 4 Vol 3 of the Music City Show Hymns. You will not want to miss the next concert. If you would like to find any of the songs that they sang at the Homecoming you can find them all on iTunes or on either of their websites.

In other news for The Positive Cowboy, Jim received the USAGEM TV and Film Award in Nashville,Tennessee for his role on the Music City Show.
