MARK209 Announces New Baritone

NASHVILLE, TN – MARK209 is proud to announce that Dustin Hood has agreed to accept their open baritone position.

From Crossville Alabama, Dustin and his son Damion still live there and he will be commuting to Nashville to meet the tour coach.
Dustin has previously sang with The Harper Family, By Grace, Mercy’s Harbor and helped start a group in Chattanooga that is now known as Appointed Quartet.  He spent 5 years in Southern Gospel Radio.  His interests include music and golf.  He also plays several instruments including guitar, piano, bass guitar, and drums.
Dustin told us that he went to his first Southern Gospel concert at age 4 where he saw the Kingsmen and he was immediately hooked.  He began playing guitar and joined his first group at age 8.  He started in southern gospel radio at age 15 and was in and around Southern Gospel for the next 10 years, making many lasting friendship within the industry.  Dustin hasn’t always been in gospel music though.  He had a time that he strayed away from the church and spent several years playing everything from Country to Hard Rock circuits.  It is this time in Dustin’s life that has brought out an incredible testimony.  Dustin recommitted his life to the Lord 7 years ago and started back singing gospel music.  We are thrilled to have Dustin join MARK209.  He has an incredible testimony of how he came back to the Lord.
Jym Howe explains how there’s another selling point for Dustin.  “His birthday is February 9.  That’s right … MARK209 Day!”
