Michael Combs Waiting for Kidney Transplant

My dear friends and family,

Let me first of all say thank you from the bottom of my heart for lifting us up in prayer these last few weeks. It means so very much to us both. Thank you for your thoughts, love and concern.

I promised that I would keep you updated on my health and whats going on with me.

Denise and I spent most of the day yesterday at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. I began my evaluation process for a Kidney transplant. I will spend another entire day next week undergoing more tests, blood work etc. to be prepared for transplantation when the time comes.

The transplant team at Wake Forest Medical Center is highly recommending a “Living Donor” for me to continue living life “as I know it”.

If I have a “Living Donor” I would be able to avoid dialysis while waiting for a kidney to become available. The waiting time right now averages anywhere from 4 to 6 years for a kidney. Dialysis is very hard on the body and would hinder me from traveling and singing as I’ve been used to doing for the last 25 years.

Most of you know I had a Liver Transplant 24 years ago. God has been good and watched over me all theses years! The only problem is….I have been on “anti-rejection” medicine for all of those years. These medicines are very “toxic” to the kidneys and after taking them everyday for 24 years have wreaked havoc on my Kidneys.

I was advised by Wake Forest Medical Center to put my story “out there” to family, friends, church family and others to see if someone may be willing to donate a kidney that may be a match. if you are blood type “B positive” or blood type “O” (or know someone who is) who would be willing to donate 1 of their kidneys (The Lord gave us 2) please contact us immediately. Words cannot express how grateful we would be.

There would be no hospital bill involved for the “Living Donor” and we could help with transportation expenses to and from the Hospital.

If you could help us get the word out to your family, friends, church family and social media contacts we would be so very grateful.

We have been blessed to travel and sing for the last 25 years and would love to continue on. Please pray about this matter with us and let others know about our need.

Thank you again for all the prayers and support over the years and may God Bless!
