FUN FACT FRIDAY

IT’S FRIDAY! Another week has come and gone, and that means we are one week closer to Creekside! This week I was able to get a little in tune with The Williamsons. Check it out!

Q: What is your favorite bible verse and why?

Karl: Job 22:9. “It describes in one verse the reason why we do what we do, and why I leave my family every week to travel and sing.”

Donnie: “Of course, my favorite Bible verses have to do with the salvation experience and how we can be reconciled to a holy God. The one I am going to share today is one my mother taught me when I was just a teenager going through regular teenage issues. It is Philippians 4:8. It helped from my attitude when I was a teenager, and it is still helping me from them today.”

Darin: “Psalm 37:4 is my favorite scripture. I love it because I am a living example of what it says. God has given me the desires of my heart. I get to do what I love on the weekends and come back home to my wife and son. Life is good.”

Lisa: “My favorite scripture is James 1:17. I believe that God has given us so many ‘good and perfect gifts;’ we could never thank Him enough! I know in my life He has given me salvation, my beautiful family and has fulfilled my dream of being in ministry. So many other things I could name, but where do I even begin? God has been so very good to me!”

williamsons5Q: At what time in your life did you know that you had been called to sing gospel music?

Karl: “April 13th of the year 2000. That was the day that God called  me  into  the ministry. That was the only instance in my life that I can remember actually hearing the voice of God.”

Donnie: “I had some friends take me to a concert when I was 12 years old. It was there that my soul was set on fire to share Gospel music. Since my father was a pastor and we sang  in a family group together, there’s hardly been a time in my life that I was not hearing  the Gospel through music. However, I must say that even within the past seven years I have had a renewed commitment and desire to evangelize through music even more than ever.”

Darin: “In 2003 I attended a Gold City concert with my dad. Tim Riley, Jay Parrack, Danny Riley and Jonathan Wilburn did an incredible job of course. There was something extra special about that night though. I believe that’s where I fell in love with Gospel music I feel like God placed the desire to sing Gospel music in my heart and from that day on I knew what I was supposed to do. Its one of my favorite memories.”

Lisa: “ I don’t remember when God called me into ministry exactly. I have heard my parents tell about something that happened the day I was dedicated though. I was only a few days old when the service took place. As they prayed over Dad, Mom, and me, an elder in the church prophesied and said that God was going to use me to reach many people through my ministry. He couldn’t have known that God had in store for me! Not at only a few days old! However, God knew what He had planned for me and my life. Whether you believe in prophecy or not, you can’t argue with the fact that God has fulfilled that one!”

Q: What is your favorite hobby when you are NOT singing?

Karl: “Hunting deer and smoking meats. In that order. Fishing is just something to do until deer season comes around.”

Donnie: “My favorite pasttime when not singing is to spend time with my lovely wife and children. I don’t fish, I don’t golf, and I don’t hunt. If I have some spare time (which is not nearly often enough) I enjoy cuddling up with my family and watching a good movie or something else we can do together. I love popcorn!”

Darin: “When we aren’t singing, I love spending every moment I can with my wife Kallie and my son Patrick. I also enjoy coaching my son’s ball teams.”

Lisa: “When we are home I do laundry. LOL!!! Thankfully, that’s not all I do. I enjoy working in our studio and just being in a house that doesn’t drive down the highway!”
