SON SOUND/NEW WEST SIGNS THE FAR CITY BOYS

BESSEMER CITY, NC., Jan. 29th – Son Sound Studios, Inc./New West Records today announces the signing of an exclusive agreement with the recently dove award nominees, The Far City Boys. Their very anticipated first New West release is scheduled to begin tracking in February.
The Far City Boys have been sharing their God-given talents for playing gospel and bluegrass music with audiences for over 15 years. The band started in 1995, and in 1997 they were invited to compete in the North Carolina Folk Festival band competition at the Asheville Civic Center, where they won first place. For the Far City Boys, there is no greater joy than spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through song. As Mike Riddle of the Primitive Quartet says, “Great singing, great selection of songs, and most of all the sweet Holy Spirit shines through on every song.”

“We are thrilled and humbled to be working with The Far City Boys. This band has some real talent and we are beyond excited about the upcoming recording!”, says Holly Robinson-Blanton of Son Sound.
The band consists of Kevin Street (guitar /vocals), his father, Mike Street (bass/vocals), Barron Rogers (mandolin/vocals), Roger Holland (banjo/vocals) and Josh Greene (fiddle).
