Ernie Haase & Signature Sound performed the national anthem during the AdvoCare 500 NASCAR race LIVE broadcast on ESPN Labor Day weekend, on Sunday September 4, 2011.Prior to singing the national anthem, the group performed during the chapel service for NASCAR drivers, families and crew members.
Ed Clark, Atlanta Motor Speedway president commented, “We were honored for Ernie Haase and Signature Sound to return to Atlanta Motor Speedway and sing the national anthem for the AdvoCare 500. Just like last year, after the race we received an overwhelming response for their rendition of the anthem and how much it means to our fans.”

NASHVILLE, TN (AUGUST 12, 2011) – Grammy-nominated, award-winning Ernie Haase & Signature Sound will return to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second consecutive year to perform the National Anthem prior to the AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series night race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 4.
Ernie Haase & Signature Sound (EHSS) is a Grammy-nominated and award-winning gospel quartet that combines modern musical concepts with the timeless quality of vocal groups to break the traditional mold of gospel quartets. The quartet was formed by Ernie Haase, the tenor singer of the famed Cathedral Quartet.
The patriotic pre-race event will feature the group performing the National Anthem, preceded by, “I Pledge My Allegiance.”
“We have never received a more positive response from any National Anthem performer in the history of Atlanta Motor Speedway than what we saw last year after Ernie Haase & Signature Sound presented the National Anthem,” said AMS President and General Manager Ed Clark. “We are certainly thrilled that they will be making a return performance again this year. NASCAR night racing returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway this Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-4. Tickets for the AdvoCare 500 start at $39 and $19 for students. ESPN TO BROADCAST EVENT LIVE
NASHVILLE, TN (August 31, 2010) – Ernie Haase & Signature Sound will perform the National Anthem prior to the Emory Healthcare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series night race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 5.
The patriotic pre-race event will feature the group performing the National Anthem, preceded by, “I Pledge My Allegiance.” The group will be joined by a choir from Hampton First Baptist Church in Hampton, GA. During the performance, local families of fallen military members will join Ernie Haase & Signature Sound in the Atlanta Motor Speedway Infield where they will help display a vast American flag to honor America’s soldiers.
Ernie Haase commented, “We are honored to sing the National Anthem at the Emory Healthcare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. We are grateful to Ed Clark, the president of the Atlanta Motor Speedway for giving us a chance to celebrate America and the Altanta Motor Speedway’s 50th Anniversary.”
In addition to Sunday’s performance by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, pre-race entertainment will be provided by legendary rock band Foreigner.
ESPN will broadcast the Emory Healthecare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series live at 7:30pm (EST) / 6:30pm (CST).
