Nashville, Tenn (Sept. 3, 2015) – While change is never easy, when GOD is in it, it is always good. With that, owner and tenor singer of Beyond The Ashes has announced a new season for his 10 year ministry.
Beyond The Ashes was started by Anthony Facello a decade ago with a passion and vision to touch lives for Christ. The group has been nominated for Dove Awards as well as receiving the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award at the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards because of their progressive style and extraordinary talent.
Facello felt a tug in his heart to move in a different direction with his life and shared that with the other members of the group. He helped each member move forward into other ministries and now that the transitions have been finalized he issued the following statement:
“We all know there are changes of season. I love when Summer turns to Fall. The crisp air brings a feeling of new and fresh. With that being said there is a new season that has arrived in my life. Eight months ago God started dealing with me about a change and now the time has come for the last page of this chapter to turn. I have been blessed the last 10 years to lead the ministry of Beyond The Ashes. God has allowed me to play a part in the journey of many fine and talented gentlemen and now they are in great places. I have learned so much and my faith has become much stronger through these years. Thank you to all of the wonderful friends, churches and promoters who believed in Beyond The Ashes and in me. I will continue to nurture those wonderful relationships God has blessed me with. I love you all and ask for your continued prayers as I walk in this new season.”
Though the full-time ministry of Beyond The Ashes is coming to a close, Facello anticipates continued opportunities to serve God in various capacities. He looks forward to some solo dates and, also, to periodically travel and share in music ministry with friends singing and speaking about the infinite LOVE of God. Additionally, there will be limited appearances in a new format of BTA which will be called Beyond The Ashes and Friends.
About Anthony Facello
Anthony Facello, the group’s founder and tenor singer, is no stranger to Christian music. The Dove nominated male vocalist has been traveling for 18 years. He has sung and toured with some of Gospel music’s most recognized names and even enjoyed being a part of the well-known Gaither tour on several occasions. He is a singer’s singer. His incredible tenor voice is revered as one of the best in the industry. This is an opinion, not just shared by fans, but also, by industry peers. Anthony’s heart, though, is what really sets him apart. He is deeply committed to his calling. He would rather see someone sincerely touched by the music than be recognized for his gifts. In his free time, which is pretty infrequent, Anthony loves to get in a good work out at the gym, or just sit down and have coffee with friends.
Anthony shares, “I started out as a child singing in church and then with my family. Every week I would record Paul Heil’s program, The Gospel Greats, and I would listen to those tapes over and over. I always knew that I was supposed to be in full time ministry and God saw fit to open that door in 1993.” In addition to being an incredible vocal artist, Anthony also enjoys writing music. He was born in Baltimore, MD and now makes his home in Pleasant View, TN.

About Beyond The Ashes
Beyond our plans, beyond our own abilities, beyond our failures, beyond our own God-given talents, above and beyond anything we could ask or even imagine. God has a plan for each of us, to rise above the ashes and to live powerfully for Him.
When three different people come from three completely different parts of the United States and share the same strong desire and sincere call to worship and minister, then those plans, which are beyond our own, begin to come to fruition.

Christmas time for many is a time of being with family and friends, socializing, singing and enjoying treats we may have only once a year. We have gathered a sampling of favorite recipes from our SGN Scoops friends, fans and family. Special thanks to all who contributed their recipes and pictures, and to all of our readers who will enjoy making and eating these culinary concoctions. Have a Merry Christmas…and happy feasting!
Sandi Duncan-Clark – Features Editor, writer, SGN Scoops http://www.sgnscoops.com/
My favorite Christmas Recipe is one that we enjoy from the first of November through the New Year Holidays. This delight is good as an appetizer with dip, and as a snack with eggnog and Hot Apple Cider. And it’s great just to munch! I always make two batches in the beginning, since I know they will disappear quickly. Merry Christmas Everyone. May your Holiday be the best ever.
SANDI’S ZESTY CHEESE STRAWS
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, at room temperature
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, at room temperature
1 1/2 cups cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (more or less, according to your taste preference).
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
In a food processor, add the butter, cheese, flour, salt and cayenne.
Process until a smooth dough is formed. Scoop it into your cookie press, fitted with a flat ridged tip. Pipe the dough in 2-inch strips onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
(Alternatively, refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes and roll on a lightly floured surface into a 1/4 inch rectangle. Cut into smaller rectangles, about 2 by 3- inches, with a pizza wheel or sharp knife.) Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to racks to cool.

JOAN’S WARM–YOU-UP CHRISTMAS CHILI
1 1/2 pound ground beef
2 cans beans
2 cups salsa
1 can tomato sauce
2 tbsp chili powder
1 chopped onion
1 cup frozen corn
1 cup shredded cheese
Brown meat and drain. Add meat and remaining ingredients in slow cooker, except cheese. Heat on LOW 5-6 hrs, or HIGH 3-4 hours, add shredded cheese before serving.
Add fresh green peppers for a festive look!
Channing Eleton – artist, musician http://channingeleton.com/
My family started a tradition several years ago. After a month of turkey and dressing, sometimes you just want to do something different. One year, I suggested that we do a Mexican dinner for Christmas. Everyone loved it and we’ve been doing it ever since.
The most popular dish of these Christmas get-togethers has been Christina’s Chili Mexico. It’s easy
and quick to make and after one taste, you’ll see why the Eleton family loves it. Christina’s dish had become popular at Christmas-time; she was getting recipe requests and questions about what she called it. Up until that point, she didn’t have a name for it. I kept encouraging her to give it a name. Neither she or I had any original ideas that we liked, so I turned to my little girl for wisdom. I asked, “Chanler, what would you call Mommy’s dish that we love?”
Without hesitation, Chanler replies in her cute little five-year-old voice, “Chili Mexico”.
We smiled…it stuck…and that’s what we’ve called it ever since.
ELETON’S CHILI MEXICO
2 – 8 oz. packets cream cheese
1 1/2 cups salsa
2 cups chili
2 cups shredded cheese
In a baking dish, spread out cream cheese first. Next, comes the layer of salsa, spread evenly. The third layer will be 1 cup of the shredded cheese. Now, pour in all of chili and spread evenly. Lastly, top it with remaining cup of shredded cheese – spread evenly of course. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes. Enjoy with your choice of nacho chips! Read more »

Frankfort, KY- The Kentucky Governor’s office recently contacted the award winning Sneed Family with an invitation to be a part of the celebration taking place in Frankfort, Ky as they celebrate 100 years of life, service and history at the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion.
Several celebrations have taken place since the first of the year to commemorate this milestone year of the Mansion’s 100 years that included concerts, symposiums, art displays, receptions, garden parties, state dinners, lectures, and other historical/educational experiences. One of the things that Governor and Mrs. Beshear wanted to be sure to include on the list of events was a Gospel music concert.
The concert will take place on Sunday, September 21 in a large tent set up on the grounds of the Governor’s Mansion.
In addition to the Sneed Family other artist scheduled to appear are the Isaacs, Beyond the Ashes, His Heart Quartet, Marlana Vanhoose and Roy Webb. BEYOND THE ASHES CONCERT REVIEW
February 28, 2014
By Vivian Belknap
“These guys will make you want to go to Heaven,” exclaimed Bob Wills after hearing the first set of music presented by Beyond The Ashes at Dove Creek Café in Roanoke, Texas, February 28, 2014. They began by singing “So Amazing,” a great song of praise that set into motion an atmosphere of worship. Then Anthony Facello, the featured tenor and group owner led the crowd as they sang “Amazing Grace.”
“The Coming of the King,” a real toe-tapper featuring David Staton who was filling in as their lead singer really had the audience engaged. This was the first time David had performed with the group. And wow! His energy was contagious to everyone in the café.
We were blessed to hear “Oh Happy Day,” a very familiar song to southern gospel fans, again featuring David. “Over for Good,” a song with a modern country feel and “God Is So Good,” featured the great tenor voice of Anthony. His range and control easily makes him one of the best tenor singers in Gospel music.
Anthony then introduced each group member: Casey Shepherd, baritone; Tyler Vestal, pianist and vocalist; David Staton, guest lead vocalist; Anthony Facello, tenor and emcee. Their energy, both physical and spiritual, was on display with every song. It is very obvious these guys love our Lord and they have made it their mission to go and tell!
The first set was completed with David featured on “Every Knee Shall Bow,” also written by him and recorded by several other artists. Fabulous words: “Bow now, or bow then.”
They returned to sing “Glimpse of Your Glory,” another song written by David and “I Can’t Even Walk.” Of course the crowd was singing along on this one too. In fact Anthony had the audience singing often. So it really was a worship experience, not just a concert. Beyond The Ashes has a very unique way of capturing your attention, and holding it to the point that it seems to the listener it’s just you and them.
Another special treat was to hear the piano solo by 22-year-old Tyler Vestal. His talent rivals any pianist in gospel music. In my opinion, he even displayed traits of Howard Goodman, with his hands dancing on the keyboard.
Beyond The Ashes ended the night by singing “Who Am I,” featuring Tyler, and “No Sin Greater Than Grace,” written by Anthony. This song drove home the strong Gospel message of the love and grace of our Father.
What did we, the audience take away from this concert? Assurance of God’s love, mercy and grace and that Heaven is very clearly in view for those of us who have been born again. There is no doubt that the ministry of Beyond The Ashes is focused on seeing the lost come to Jesus and to bring joy to the body of Christ through their uplifting music and dynamic energy and personalities. When you have the opportunity to attend one of their concerts, I think you will also leave saying, “These guys will make you want to go to Heaven.”
