Services Announced for Angie Bailey, Mother of Pastor Bill Bailey

Written by scoopsnews on August 10, 2019 – 6:51 am -

Angie N. Bailey, 86, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, August 8, 2019.  The family will host a visitation on Monday, August 12th from 6-8pm at the Happy Gospel Church, 1915 53rd Ave East, in Bradenton, FL.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14th at 10am at Kimbrell & Stern Funeral Home, 1503 Dawson Road in Albany, GA; immediately followed by internment at Crown Hill Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons: Pastor Bill Bailey (and Sally), and Mike Trotter (and Mona); five grandchildren: Caleb Bailey (Lauren), Chelsea King (Jamar), Caitlyn Bailey, Michael Trotter (Alison), and Matthew Trotter (Aubrie); six great grandchildren: Rowan King, Jeremiah King, Cade Bailey, Lauren Trotter, Collins Trotter, Blake Trotter; and one step-daughter: Diane Banks and her daughter, Tonyia Veloso.

Angie was born on July 1, 1933 in Thompson, GA as the baby of the family.  She was the last surviving sibling of 5 children. She married Lee Roy Trotter and had one child, Mike.  Following her first husband’s death, she married William (Bill) Bailey in 1968. They were married for 27 years, and had one child, Bill Bailey (Jr.).

Angie worked at the Gordon Hotel in downtown Albany, GA; Camelot Restaurant (Ramada Inn) in Asheville, NC; and had an in-home daycare in Bradenton, FL.  It was common for her to take in family members who were in a difficult stage of life, and she served as an emergency shelter for Manatee Children’s Services when their main home was full.  She loved Gospel Music and enjoyed attending her son’s concert promotions throughout the country.

After retiring in Albany, GA, she moved back to Bradenton, FL in her late 70’s.  Her church home was Happy Gospel Church, where she loved hearing her son sing and preach.  She spent the last five years of her life on dialysis, three times per week. Special thanks to Caitlyn Bailey, Sally Bailey, and Valary Woods as her primary caregivers.

Flowers will be received by Happy Gospel Church on Monday, August 12th from 9am-4pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to http://www.happygospelchurch.com/give.

Written by scoopsnews on December 1, 2018 – 6:35 am -

December is a time for sharing. At Christmas, we (Christians) celebrate The Greatest Gift of All, Jesus Christ.

Over the next few weeks we will be talking with many industry leaders, artists, pastors, promoters, etc. and asking them questions.  They will “share” the answer to the question in 10 seconds or less. We are asking for their best advice on many different topics.

Our first question goes  to Pastor and Promoter friend Bill Bailey.

Bill, you are one of the Top Promoters in Gospel Music.

What advice would you give to anyone about promoting a successful concert in 10 seconds or less?

Answer Below:

Caleb Bailey Demonstrates A True Act of Heroism

Written by scoopsnews on January 7, 2018 – 6:46 am -

From Pastor Bill Bailey:

My son is a hero again. Caleb was driving us home from Mobile, about halfway between Gainesville and Ocala. Just after 5am, an 18 wheeler hit a guard rail and flipped in the median. It immediately burst into flames. I was asleep in my bunk. Caleb stopped and ran to the scene, to find the driver trapped inside, and the cab filling with smoke. I was able to get another trucker to stop. Between his hammer and Caleb’s foot, they were able to break the glass and pull him out. This was all happening while the truck was exploding. The image of that bloodied man, screaming and trapped inside his cab with the truck in flames, will be one not soon forgotten. Just moments after Caleb pulled him out, the truck cab became engulfed in flames. Although traffic was very light and we were in a desolate area, I was shocked at the people that just drove by. If Caleb had kept driving, that man would be dead. But because of God’s mercy and Caleb’s heroism, that man has a second chance in life, and will return home to his loved ones. Proud of you son! God used you today. Luke 10:25-37

Major Announcement from Pastor Bill Bailey & Josh Franks!

Major Announcement from Pastor Bill Bailey & Josh Franks!

Bill Bailey and Josh Franks are pleased to announce they are bringing a new Gospel Music event to Huntington, West Virginia this summer!
“West Virginia Sings the Gospel!” will be held Friday-Saturday, August 12-13, 2016 at the Christ Temple Church in Huntington, WV.  This two-day event will feature many of Gospel Music’s top artists.

Friday, August 12th, 7pm – Guy Penrod, Isaacs, Triumphant Quartet,
Brian Free & Assurance, Josh & Ashley Franks

Saturday, August 13th, 6pm – Goodman Revival, Kingsmen, Gold City,
Karen Peck & New River, Guardians

What makes this event so unique is that there are no tickets being sold!  Just a $15 donation per person will be requested at the door each night, and a love offering will be received.  There are many hotels in the Huntington area, close to the church.

Some may ask, why West Virginia?  Pastor Bill Bailey shares, “We are excited to bring a quality southern gospel event to an area so rich in gospel music history.  There are so many fans and supporters of gospel music in this part of the country, and it only seemed natural to add this event to our concert schedule.”

“West Virginia Sings the Gospel” is part of a series of concert events presented by Bill Bailey and Josh Franks.  Other events include “Mobile Sings the Gospel” (Mobile, AL); Louisiana Sings the Gospel (Oak Grove, LA); and “Jackson Sings the Gospel” (Jackson, TN).  Both Bailey and Franks continue to promote their own individual concerts throughout the year; including Bailey’s “Winter Gospel Music Convention” in Palmetto, FL, and Franks’ “James D. Vaughan Quartet Festival” in Lawrenceburg, TN.

What’s on the horizon?  Josh Franks responds, “We are looking into other areas and venues for future development.  We believe that the future for southern gospel music is bright, and we are excited to help present that across the country!”
