Clearvision Quartet Welcomes New Vocalist

Clearvision Quartet Welcomes New Vocalist

Clearvision Quartet Welcomes New Vocalist

Oxford, AL – Clearvision Quartet, the all-male Southern Gospel Quartet proudly welcomes a new addition to their ministry. CVQ was founded in Oxford, AL and recently celebrated their 8th anniversary. It was at this anniversary celebration that Clearvision announced the selection to fill the open baritone vocalist position.

Chris Fugatt, from Lincoln, AL, was announced on June 23rd as the newest member of the Clearvision family. Chris is no stranger to gospel music having traveled with is family, The Fugatt Family, for the past few years. Chris is not only a competent vocalist but also a very seasoned musician.

Fugatt posted on Facebook this weekend, “…it’s time to turn the page and start a new chapter in my life. Since coming from behind the drums to stand behind the mic I have always sang with my family The Fugatt Family. But with lots of prayers and support from family and friends, God has presented a new path for our lives.”

Group manager Steve Dover stated, “Chris seemed like a perfect fit for CVQ. When Jacob (Dover) resigned the position earlier I wasn’t sure what we were going to do. A lot of people can sing, and sing well, but the baritone position is not an easy one to tackle. It doesn’t garner the glamour and glory that the other three positions get but you sure do notice when they are absent. Chris comes to us with tons of experience from singing with his family. He filled in for a short time and I told the guys that I thought we didn’t need to look any further for our next member. Chris graciously accepted our offer and we look forward to a long and distinguished relationship with him. Oh, and he comes with his family’s blessing – including mom! This was huge!”

Change for ClearVision Quartet

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

There’s an old classic Gospel song that says “Time has made a change in me” and nowhere is change more evident than in the lives of Gospel singers. Such is the case today.

Clearvision Quartet from Oxford, AL announces the resignation of tenor vocalist Tony Sheppard. Tony, who has been with the group almost 4 years, advised the group recently that he would be stepping down. Along with vocal duties, Tony was also responsible for running the sound during concerts and was an instant crowd favorite everywhere the group sings.

Group manager and lead vocalist Steve Dover had this to say about Tony’s departure. “Tony and I sat down recently and discussed his desire to come off the road in an effort to become more grounded in a local church and to spend more time with his wife and 3 children. I told him that faith and family come before ministry and to do what he felt God was telling him to do.” Dover added, “I’ve been where Tony is right now and it’s not an easy place to exist. Your mind wants to keep on singing but your heart tells you it’s time to slow down and be there for your family. I respect his decision to put his family above everything else. I’m excited to see what God has in store for the Sheppard’s in the weeks and years ahead.”

In conclusion, Dover responded, “Keep CVQ in your prayers that God will send us who we need, when we need him. If life has taught me anything it’s that nothing catches God by surprise. His will for this ministry is all we’ve ever sought and today is no different. God will provide.”

Tony’s last weekend will be January 14th and 15th with appearances in Arab, AL and Delta, AL. Clearvision will enlist the help of several friends to help with their scheduled services until a permanent replacement is selected. Also, the group’s current recording project will be put on hold until a replacement is named.

To be considered for the tenor vocalist position with Clearvision Quartet, submit a brief resume, photo and demo to steve.cvq@gmail.com.

Clearvision Quartet Announcement

Clearvision Quartet Announcement

Clearvision Quartet Announcement

It’s hard to tell which happens more frequently; changes in the weather or in the lineup of your favorite Southern Gospel group. Since this is not a weather forecast, it must be a personnel change notification.

The baritone position with Clearvision Quartet came open the first weekend in March. Since that time, the all-male quartet from Oxford, AL has been praying, seeking and waiting to name a replacement for the baritone position. Today is the day for that announcement. CVQ is delighted to announce that Jacob Dover has been selected to fill the vacant baritone spot. Jacob is the 15 year old son of lead vocalist, and group manager, Steve Dover. In a release from CVQ, Dad/boss had this to say about the announcement, “It’s a proud daddy moment for sure. He had been traveling with us some to help with loading the equipment when the vacancy occurred. He expressed an interest in filling the opening and was given an opportunity to audition. We liked what we heard and saw the potential.

He has filled-in for the last few weeks on stage and is doing great. The guys and I talked about it, and we prayed about it, and we all felt it was the right decision.” The release adds, “The [baritone] position is not the easiest part to learn in quartet arrangements. It gets very challenging at times. Jacob has shown the ability to not only hear the part but to learn it as well. He does not have a lot of stage experience yet but he has a desire to learn, sing and share this music that we all love – and that was what we were looking for in a replacement.”

Over the last year, the high school freshman has developed a desire to be involved in music. He sings at his home church (Macedonia Baptist Church in Delta, AL) and is a member of the school robed choir (Oxford High School). He has even expressed the desire to learn to play a musical instrument in the near future. This new addition also makes the overall group roster quite unique. CVQ now features a father/son and father/step-son lineup.

Tenor vocalist Tony Sheppard stated, “I love the fact that he is a young man wanting to do our kind of music…” Bass vocalist and group owner Jay Peoples chimed in, “I think he’s doing a great job.” Steve further said, “Jake knows it’s not going to be easy. With our schedule he has had to hit the ground running.

We are honored that he would want to dedicate the time and effort to be part of this ministry. I hope everyone will come out and cheer him on. We need more young people in this industry and the ones we have on the road now need to be encouraged. They could be doing a lot of other things at their age.”

Gospel Artists remember Noah Sartin

There was a great concert on Saturday night in Delta, AL for Noah’s family, Steve and Metha Dover. Noah Timothy Sartin passed away in May at the age of 13 years.

imageFriends gathered to show love and support at the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Pat Barker was emcee, along with Clearvision Quartet, Capstone Quartet, From The Ashes, Exodus and Broken Vessels.

Broken Vessels are Scott and Lisa Roberts, and the couple shared a song that had become very special to Metha Dover in the last few months of Noah’s life. The song was one that Scott had written, which says that “I may limp up to Heaven’s gates, but I will run on the other side…” See below for a video of this touching presentation.

Noah received his healing in Heaven but his parents remain faithful in serving the Lord. What an example. We know that Noah is running now!

SGN Scoops was blessed to be in attendance.
