StowTown Records Announces Two New Releases from the Collingsworth Family and Triumphant

(Nashville, TN)… StowTown Records is thrilled to announce the release of brand new exciting projects by two of the top groups in Southern Gospel music.

With almost two decades on the road in its full-time ministry, The Collingsworth Family is releasing its first comprehensive collection of The Best of the Collingsworth Family Volume 1 & 2.

The award-winning family has re-recorded up-to-date vocals while utilizing the original tracks of many of its all-time hits.

The fan-favorite group is set to release The Best of the Collingsworth Family Volume 1 & 2 of its all-time hits that includes 26 popular songs like: “I Know”, “Show A Little Bit of Love and Kindness”, “The Blood of Jesus”, “Tell The Mountain”, “Fear Not Tomorrow”, “He Already Sees”, “The Healer Is Here”, “Bottom of The Barrel”, “I Can Trust Jesus”, “At Calvary”…and many more longtime family classics.

“What a fun stroll down ‘Memory Lane’ as we revisited the most requested songs across our 17 years of touring,” said Phil Collingsworth. “All new vocals with the original tracks digitally enhanced, and a whole bunch of smiles!!”

Meanwhile, Southern Gospel’s multi-award winning Favorite Traditional Quartet, Triumphant, is releasing a very special Christmas project, simply titled He Is Christmas.

StowTown Records co-founder Wayne Haun along with Steve Mauldin, Roger Talley, Jason Webb, and David Clydesdale produced and arranged the entire project.

The seasonal album includes classics like “Mary Did You Know” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, along with two heart-warming Christmas medleys titled “Medley of Fun” and “Celebration Medley”. A brand new song, “Repeat the Sounding Joy”, leads off the album and will be released to radio later this month.

“Christmas truly is the ‘Most Wonderful Time of the Year’. This album is full of lyrics that paint a picture of the season,” said Triumphant baritone Scott Inman. “It’s a 12-song celebration focusing on the birth of Jesus Christ. HE IS CHRISTMAS!”

Each of these new StowTown albums, The Best of the Collingsworth Family Volume 1 and Volume 2 and He Is Christmas, are now available online and at Christian bookstores everywhere.

for the brand new Ark Encounter

(Nashville, TN)… StowTown Records’ popular powerhouse group, The Collingsworth Family, proudly took part in the highly anticipated and publicized ribbon cutting ceremony for the brand new Ark Encounter earlier this week.

Ark Encounter “features a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. Ark Encounter is situated in the beautiful Williamstown, Kentucky.”

The massive exhibit and future Theme Park is the vision of Dr. Ken Ham, founder, president and CEO of the Answers In Genesis, which operates the Creation Museum just 40 miles north in Petersburg. The Christian organization is an “apologetics ministry, dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively…focus on providing answers to questions about the Bible—particularly the book of Genesis—regarding key issues such as creation, evolution, science, and the age of the earth.”

Over 8,000 donors and special guests along with many media members attended the special one-time event, clogging up I-75 for miles and setting the stage for this major attraction for years to come.

“It was a stalwart honor for The Collingsworth Family to be asked to perform for the ribbon cutting ceremony for The Ark Encounter,” said Phil Collingsworth. “God has blessed the ministry of Dr. Ken Ham and Answers In Genesis tremendously, and it was awesome to be a part of the very beginning of this new endeavor which will bless thousands of people who come through the exhibit and Theme Park.”

Ark Experience theme park includes the Ararat Ridge Zoo, daily animal shows, zip lines, a 500-seat outdoor ampitheater, live entertainment, a 1,500-seat themed restaurant and performing arts center, and fair-trade shopping.

Courtney Collingsworth: a Younger Perspective by Erin Stevens

Courtney Collingsworth and the Collingsworth Family in concert

Courtney Collingsworth and the Collingsworth Family in concert

A word from the writer…

If you are a faithful ‘Younger Perspective’ reader, you would know that in years past, I’ve had the joy of interviewing two members of The Collingsworth clan. This month I thought, “Why not go for three?” It has been a long wait to invite my dear friend, Courtney, to join in the fun. There couldn’t be a kinder, more sweet-spirited, gracious, multi-talented and well-dressed young lady you could find in the gospel music world. Let’s dive into all the happenings taking place in Mrs. Metz’s life, shall we?

Erin: If anyone has been a Collingsworth fan for any length of time, they would know that you have grown up singing Gospel music since you were a little girl. However, for you personally, when did you feel the call to become a full-fledged part of the group all those years ago?

Courtney Collingsworth

Courtney Collingsworth

Courtney: I think I really began to take the ministry on as my own when I was in my mid-teens. I loved what I did, but as I began getting older (and towards the end of high school) I started considering my options outside of singing, and I came to realize that I just could not imagine my life without being in ministry traveling with my family. More than that though, there is just something about conveying the Gospel through song that I know is my calling. Hearing the stories of how God has used a certain song never ceases to bring tears to my eyes and reaffirm that I am doing what God has planned for me.

Erin: What began your enjoyment of flipping houses with your hubby, Michael?

Courtney: My dad is really into real estate, and my husband, Michael, is an excellent handyman, and if you follow me on Instagram, you know I love to decorate. So, two years ago we purchased our first home and remodeled the entire house and sold it. Thanks to a lot of hard work on my husband’s part (and a lot of advice and expertise from my dad) it has been a successful thing for us and also, a lot of fun to create beautiful homes together!

Erin: Your family just got back from a weekend in NYC singing at the Brooklyn Tabernacle. You said on Instagram, “Best day ever!” Describe what that incredible experience was like?

Courtney: If you have never been to the Brooklyn Tabernacle, it is something you can’t describe; it has to be experienced. All I can say is the Brooklyn Tabernacle puts a huge emphasis on prayer and you can feel it when you walk into the building. They have a team of people praying above the auditorium during every service (three services every Sunday) and I have never felt the presence of the Lord quite like it. It is a huge honor and highlight of our year to minister at their church.

Read on for more from Courtney and Erin…

Younger Perspective on Phillip Collingsworth

Written by Staff on December 13, 2015 – 12:31 pm -

Collingsworth Family

Collingsworth Family

For those of you who remember, it was almost two years ago that the first ‘Younger Perspective’ was published. What a treat for me to start off by interviewing the youngest of the Collingsworths, Miss Olivia. Why not take a moment out of your Christmas shopping to enjoy a behind the scenes look at another Collingsworth kid – Phillip, the 20 year old newlywed who is loving life with his wife, Sharlenae, as they travel across the world with the whole Collingsworth clan. Phillip, it’s all yours…

Erin: While growing up in a musical home, at what point did you personally feel the call to ministry?
Phillip: When I was almost 18, I heard my grandfather preach a sermon on knowing God’s will in your life. Through the message, God gave me a vision of what my future could be like if I followed His will. The ‘vision’ then adapted into the Holy Spirit saying as clear as a bell, ‘Keep doing what you’re doing.’ Until I have an encounter like this again that tells me to do something else, this is where I’ll be. It’s great to know you’re in God’s will!

Phillip Collingsworth

Phillip Collingsworth

Erin: What are some Collingsworth Christmas traditions you’re looking forward to this season?
Phillip: The first one that always comes to mind is the tradition of caroling at one of our local hospitals in Cincinnati on Christmas Eve. And now that I’m married and am the only one of my siblings that will be hanging onto the Collingsworth name, Sharlenae and I are excited to start some of our own as the years pass.

Erin: Each night, what song touches you the most every time you step up to sing?
Phillip: ‘Healing In His Hands’ or ‘The Love of God.’ These both contain very strong, touching lyrics that not only speak to the audience, but myself as well.

Erin: (The must ask question especially this time of year!) What is your favorite holiday dish?
Phillip: At Christmastime, keep the cookies away from me, they will be gone.

Erin: Along with your family’s strong influence, who have been some of your biggest musical inspirations?
Phillip: David Phelps, Newsong and Larnelle Harris have been big inspirations to me in the Christian field. In the secular field, Michael Bublé, the late Michael Johns, IL Volo, Yanni, and many others. Needless to say, my iPhone is chock full of music.

Erin: What is the oddest thing a fan has ever said to you?
Phillip: Someone once said they were praying for me because of my facial hair.

Kim Collingsworth’s Majestic honored with a SILVER TELLY Award.

Erin: From your perspective, describe the experience of filming Majestic?
Phillip: I appear about three times, as opposed to usually being on for 100% of the concert. Instead of constantly being on stage, it was enjoyable to watch the program from a relaxing perspective for a change.

Erin: How would you describe the joy of singing beside your wife, surrounded by your family, night after night?
Phillip: There’s only one way I can describe it, and that is, I am a blessed man; to have a wife who supports what I am called to do, and is able to do it with me. It’s also a blessing to have done this for so long with my parents and siblings.

Erin: In the midst of the hustle and bustle on every corner, what does Christmas mean to you?
Phillip: To me, Christmas is one of the greatest times of the year. It’s a chance to come together with family and friends to celebrate our Savior’s birth. It is a wonderful time to show the love of Christ to someone else, just like the love God showed by sending His only Son.

While you’re in the midst of busily wrapping presents, take every opportunity you can to remember why we celebrate this season, and why we gather together at this time of year-to worship the Prince of Peace. His gift didn’t stop at the manger; He gave His life so that we could live forever. Why should our joy cease after December 25th? Let’s keep that celebratory spirit all year round! And just as holiday music will be heard coming from Phillip and Shar’s new home this year, may the joyous songs of the season ring out in your house as well. Merry Christmas from your Younger Perspective writer! Until the new year…

And that’s my take on it.
