NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Dove Award and Singing News Fan Award-winning quartet Canton Junction announces the addition of ACM Award-winning instrumentalist/vocalist Gordon Mote. Mote joins Canton Junction founding members Pastor Matt Hagee and Tim Duncan, along with Casey Rivers, to round out the acclaimed lineup, replacing Ryan Seaton who departed last fall. “We are so honored and excited to have Gordon join our Canton Junction family,” said Hagee. “Tim, Casey and I have all been fans of Gordon’s talent through the years—including his contributions to several of our albums—and we know he is going to bring a unique new dimension to our sound. He has already joined us for several performances and, in a word, it felt like home.”

A two-time Academy of Country Music Award winner for Piano/Keyboards Player of the Year (2008/2010), Gordon Mote is one of the most sought-after musicians in music today. He has contributed to recordings by top country artists Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Faith Hill, Brad Paisley and Reba; iconic performers Bob Seger, Lionel Richie, Alabama and Willie Nelson; and leading Christian artists including Matthew West, Selah, Jason Crabb and David Phelps. In addition to his eight solo recordings, Mote has been featured on numerous Gaither Homecoming recordings and videos, and has toured with Trisha Yearwood, the Gaither Vocal Band, and the late Porter Wagoner.

Since their 2012 debut, Canton Junction has become one of Southern Gospel’s most sought-after groups. The self-titled Canton Junction featured four #1 singles, garnered a GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year, and earned the group a Singing News Fan Award for Favorite Southern Gospel New Traditional quartet. Their follow-up recording, Every Hallelujah, debuted at #1 on Nielsen SoundScan’s Southern Gospel Overall Chart and featured the single “Weep No More,” from the hit box office film Four Blood Moons. Their 2016 holiday offering, A Canton Christmas, garnered rave reviews and airplay on country radio stations across the country. Marking another first for the quartet, the group will be featured on the cover of Singing News’ upcoming June issue.

Difference Media is a division of John Hagee Ministries, founded by John Hagee. Along with Canton Junction, the San Antonio-based label features some of the leading names in Gospel music, including Ivan Parker, Ricardo Sanchez, Matt Hagee, Tim Duncan, Aaron & Amanda Crabb, The Cornerstone Sanctuary Choir, John Hagee and The Hagees.

NASHVILLE, TN (October 19, 2015) On the heels of Gordon Mote’s Dove Award-nominated project, All Things New, New Haven Records recently announced the upcoming release of Gordon Mote Sings Hymns and Songs of Inspiration. Produced by Mote and industry legends Phil Johnson and Wayne Haun, this all-new treasury of traditional favorites and new classics blends Inspirational, Southern, Country and Pop styles to create an album that is fresh yet timeless.

New Haven Records president Ken Harding comments, “I’m constantly amazed how Gordon can make the most familiar song seem new and the newest song feel ageless. We’re thrilled to share his new album with the world.”

In addition to such beloved hymns as “Power in the Blood,” “Amazing Grace,” “Great Is They Faithfulness,” and “Just As I Am,” Gordon features the new contemporary worship classics, “Because He Lives (Amen)” and “Holy Spirit.” Famed gospel producer/arranger Percy Gray, Jr. adds Chicago Mass Choir’s trademark gospel vocals to “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” and “The Voices of Lee” lend their considerable choral prowess as well. Mote contributes his own inspiring composition, “Only Jesus Can Heal This Hurting World” to this 13-song set.

Gordon reflects, “Growing up in our little town of Gadsden, AL, our whole family would listen as Harry Butler hosted ‘Songs of Inspiration’ every Sunday morning on WGAD Radio. Even though we were just kids, my brother and I couldn’t wait to hear the latest songs from new and familiar groups. Over the decades, ‘Songs of Inspiration’ has blessed—and still blesses–lots of folks. In some small way, I’m hoping to honor and extend that legacy with this new project.”

Gordon Mote’s New Single “The Other Side” Hits Radio

Written by Staff on March 3, 2015 – 8:29 am -

45th Annual Dove Awards - ShowWife Kimberly Joins Gordon on Album Highlight

Franklin, TN (March 2, 2015) Hot on the heels of Gordon Mote’s “#2 Southern Gospel Radio Single, “Meanwhile Back At the Cross,” New Haven Records has released “The Other Side,” the fourth single from Mote’s Dove Award Finalist CD, All Things New.

Produced by Southern Gospel hit-maker Wayne Haun, “The Other Side” is a touching ballad duet featuring Gordon’s talented wife, Kimberly. Gordon reflects, “The past few years, Kimberly and I have had close friends and family who’ve experienced profound loss. Although we would never minimize someone’s grief, the Gospel truth is that we don’t grieve as those who have no hope. Instead, we live in the confidence that one day the Lord will reunite us with those we love and make all things new.”

The theme of redemption and restoration pervades the entire 13-song project, which was produced by Country Music legend Frank Rogers along with selected cuts by multi-Dove Award winner Wayne Haun.

Since its release, All Things New has become both a critical and fan favorite. Breathecast.com raved that listeners should “be prepared for lots of ‘wow’ moments.”

Strictly Country, called All Things New “…one of the most artistically defined albums we have ever heard…the album that we compare all the others to” and highlighting “The Other Side” as one of the cuts that “…truly captured our souls.” Likewise, Soul-Audio and MusicScribe also singled out “The Other Side” as one of the album’s finest moments.

Through the years, Mote has enjoyed a high profile as a featured performer on The Gaither Homecoming Concert series as well as one of Music City’s most celebrated session players—culminating in two recent Academy of Country Music and Music Row Magazine Awards for Instrumentalist of the Year. Since stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Gordon has recorded an impressive body of work—three instrumental and six vocal albums—including the Dove Award Finalist All Things New (2014), Dove Award-nominated If You Could Hear What I See (2004), Don’t Let Me Miss the Glory (2007), Songs I Grew Up Singing (2012) and his acclaimed Christmas collection, The Star Still Shines (2012).
