The Old Paths are Returning!

Written by scoopsnews on January 17, 2017 – 6:58 am -

Arden, NC. (January 17, 2017) – Crossroads Entertainment and Marketing is excited to announce the return of The Old Paths. After the success of their previous recordings with Sonlite Records and their incredible standing in the industry, we are looking forward with anticipation of continuing with them in this future endeavor. With former members Tim Rackley, Doug Roark and Daniel Ashmore and the addition of Steve Ladd on tenor, the group is poised to retain and even surpass their previous level of success.

From Tim Rackley
“When extenuating family circumstances warranted our departure from the road last December, we didn’t know exactly what God had planned. After much prayer and with our families faring much better—along with their support—we have made the decision to come back on the road for select dates as a group. We are thankful that God has opened this door for us, and we are honored to be able to minister as The Old Paths once again. We appreciate the continuing support of the Crossroads family and Harper Agency that has helped make this return happen. We feel very blessed to share this new phase of The Old Paths with Steve and are excited to see so many of our friends back on the road.“

From Steve Ladd
“I was excited when approached to be a part of The Old Paths return to Gospel music. I have always loved four-part harmony, and these guys are some of the best! I am so thankful for what God has done in my solo ministry. So, to be able to have a solo career still AND sing with these guys on select dates was a no-brainer for me.”

From Ed Harper
“The Old Paths had many fans, churches, and promoters who were disappointed but understanding of their reasons for having to take a break from touring last year. Now being able to record new music and tour select dates will excite their fan base. The Harper Agency is glad that the Lord has allowed this door to reopen for Tim, Doug and all The Old Paths. ”

From Chris White
“What a wonderful opportunity it is to re-unite with The Old Paths. Sonlite Records has had a great relationship with them and certainly look forward to continuing our partnership with them. With the addition of one of the industry’s most prolific tenor singers Steve Ladd, we feel the group will be stronger than ever. We can’t wait to get started and be able to service their loyal fan base once again with more great music and performances.”

New music will be available summer 2017 on Sonlite Records.

Gospel Music USA, a TV program aired on WATC-TV in Atlanta, GA and also available on the internet, recently had a two-day taping of the programs in high definition (HD). The station will be totally HD in February when these programs begin to air. Danny Jones, Singing News Editor; Karen Peck of Karen Peck and New River and Mike LeFevre of the LeFevre Quartet are the hosts of the program.

I had the privilege of having breakfast before the first day of taping with Danny, Karen and Mike. Danny and Mike were discussing the most asked question about Mike’s group. Mike responded about how he was related to Eva Mae LeFevre. Mike said his Dad and Eva Mae’s husband

Uncle Urias were brothers. He went on to talk a little about the family saying that they were five brothers and two sisters in the family. Sister Maude started singing with Uncle Urias and Alf. After Maude left the group, Sister Omega sang with them. The marriage took place and Eva Mae started playing the piano and singing alto with the group.

It was over to the studio for taping the program. There were six groups

scheduled to tape in the two-day session. The first day bought The Old Paths Quartet, Freedom Quartet and Lauren Talley in front of the four cameras and on the new set for the program. Day two was Jeff Stice, Ivan Parker and Archie Watkins. When you put those three hosts together you never know exactly what to expect from them. I would go into some funny details about the introduction of Freedom Quartet but I think it best to let you wait and watch the program.

Patricia Mathis, Vice President of WATC-TV and Greg West produce the program which is aired at 2:30 pm eastern time on Saturdays on both TV and the internet. The original show was taped August 13, 2013 and started airing in September of that year. It has been on the air weekly since then. WATC-TV also filmed the SGN Scoops 2014 Diamond Awards and the Lou Hildreth Honors featuring Willie Wynn this past year in Pigeon Forge, TN and aired the programs

Old Paths Quartet Announce New Pianist

Written by Staff on September 20, 2014 – 12:33 pm -

Josh Townsend Press Release PhotoThe Old Paths Quartet are thrilled to officially announce Josh Townsend as their pianist.

Josh previously had been flying from his home in Dallas Texas to play select dates, but after he and his mother made the move to Atlanta Georgia, he accepted the position on a full time basis.

At the age of 16, Josh is not only a prodigy at his gift but is a testimony to the Lord’s healing power and touch on his life. Shortly after birth, doctors informed his family that Josh had suffered a devastating stroke which would impact his ability to walk and speak correctly. The doctors said Josh would never be able to fully use his left hand, but today Josh is doing more than just proving the doctors wrong, he is using both hands to glorify God with the gift of music.

Be sure to come by and visit us at our booth at NQC to meet Josh and see the rest of the guys!
