A ROARK FAMILY CHRISTMAS TRADITION:

A ROARK FAMILY CHRISTMAS TRADITION

Paul Roark, husband of Jetta and father to Shane and Travis, was a generous man who loved to give to others.

Travis shared from his heart, “When dad passed away, instead of flowers, we placed money into a fund to help make Christmas special for some local kids who would otherwise not have gifts to open at Christmas. This has become a tradition for our family.”

The Paul Roark Memorial Children’s Christmas Fund is supported by the generosity of some private donors and the items sold at Christmas in the Smokies. Chapel Valley matches the donations and sales and that money is used to bless local families in need each Christmas. Shane stated, “God blessed us with the ultimate gift, His Son. Christmas isn’t the same without Dad here, but I’m so thankful that we were blessed with a father who taught us how much joy there is in giving to others.”

A ROARK FAMILY CHRISTMAS TRADITIONThis year, five children ages 3-9 were recipients of the gifts from the Paul Roark Memorial Children’s Christmas
Fund. “Paul may not be here to help us deliver the gifts to these special little ones, but his spirit of generosity and love inspires us as we continue to share this Christmas joy,” shared Jetta.

A ROARK FAMILY CHRISTMAS TRADITIONMerry Christmas to you and your families as you celebrate Christmas together!

Heaven gained another angel and the world lost a man like no other, as Paul Roark, 75, went Home Wednesday, November 4 at 5 p.m.

Paul served the Lord his entire life, singing Gospel music for 42 years. He began his ministry with the Maranatha Singers and later formed The Roarks with his wife of 57 years Jetta and sons Travis and Shane. The ministry Paul lead grew, as the family formed a record company, Chapel Valley in Sharps Chapel, Tenn.

As Jetta says, “God broke the mold when he made Paul.” To honor the man of God Paul was and the legacy he leaves behind, his family invites friends to a Celebration of Life at the Sharps Chapel Community Center on Saturday, November 7 from 2-5 p.m.

The community center is located at 1550 Sharps Chapel Road, Sharps Chapel, TN 37866. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations sent to the Sharps Chapel Children’s Christmas Fund. Donations can be sent to Sharps Chapel Elementary School at 1550 Sharps Chapel Rd., ATTN. Angela Mills. Make checks payable to Angela Mills.

Paul Roark passes away

imageChapel Valley posted this report on Wednesday, November 4th, on Facebook:

“It is with deep sadness that we announce that Paul Roark passed away and went home to be with his Lord a little after 5 p.m. this afternoon.

As most of our friends know, there would be no Chapel Valley without Paul. It was his hard work and faithfulness that we were able to, and will continue to, grow the ministry he started.

Please keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time. More information will follow when final arrangements are made. The office will remain closed for the remainder of this week….”

imageOur sympathy and prayers are with each of the family and friends of Paul Roark and Chapel Valley.
