NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Joining a distinguished list of world-class artists, GRAMMY®-nominated, Platinum-selling Christian music luminaries Point of Grace were recently inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in Muskogee. In addition to the beloved trio, whose founding member Denise Jones hails from Norman, Oklahoma, this year’s honorees included acclaimed worship singer/songwriter Dennis Jernigan and GRAMMY®-winning gospel vocalist and pianist Smokie Norful.

The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame’s first-ever genre-specific induction, the 2018 ceremony honored Sooner State natives whose lifetime achievements continue to impact the world of Christian music. Point of Grace, Jernigan and Norful each performed at the event, which was part of the Hall of Fame’s two-day Gospel Fest summer concert series.

“Oklahoma is my home—it’s part of my DNA—so to be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame is beyond anything I would have dared to dream when we recorded our first project over 26 years ago in Oklahoma City,” said Point of Grace’s Denise Jones. “I’m so grateful to the Oklahoma community that has supported us all these years, and having so many of my family members on hand to celebrate this honor with us made it even more special.”

Since its foundation in 1997, the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame has honored such internationally-renowned Oklahomans as Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, Merle Haggard, Gene Autry, Sandi Patty and Kristin Chenoweth, among numerous others.

Point of Grace’s soaring melodies and rich harmonies have helped define the sound of contemporary Christian music for more than two decades. The seminal group has sold in excess of 8 million units; garnered two Platinum records; three GRAMMY® nominations; 27 No. 1 singles and numerous Dove Awards. With a discography including 10 best-selling studio recordings and five Christmas albums, Point of Grace is known for such Christian radio standards as “I’ll Be Believing,” “Keep the Candle Burning,” “Circle of Friends” and “Jesus Will Still Be There.” Comprised of Shelley Breen, Denise Jones and Leigh Cappillino, the group founded the groundbreaking Girls of Grace conference and have authored multiple books. Point of Grace regularly appears on the historic Grand Ole Opry stage.

Point of Grace is slated to hit the road in November for the “Greatest Hits Live Tour,” joining tour hosts NewSong as well as Avalon, Nicole C. Mullen, Bob Carlisle and Rebecca St. James for and evening of some of the biggest songs in Christian music history. In December, Point of Grace will headline the “Sing Noël Christmas Tour.”

POINT OF GRACE BOW FIRST-EVER HYMNS RECORDING APRIL 3

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Platinum-selling, GRAMMY®-nominated Point of Grace return April 3 with a landmark new collection, Beautiful Name. The iconic trio’s second LifeWay Worship set and first full-length recording of hymns and worship songs, the project showcases Point of Grace’s signature harmonies atop 10 fresh arrangements of beloved favorites, old and new.

Produced and arranged by Kent Hooper and Phillip Keveren, Beautiful Name features cherished hymns  “All Creatures of Our God and King,” “Holy, Holy, Holy” and “Blessed Assurance,” among others, alongside such worship classics as the Twila Paris-penned “How Beautiful”; Hillsong Worship’s anthemic “Cornerstone”; and renowned modern hymn “In Christ Alone (My Hope Is Found),” by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend.

“We have always known at some point in our career we would record a hymns and worship project,” said Point of Grace’s Shelley Breen. “After being together for 25 years, this seemed like the perfect time. So much of our ministry is based on the foundation we received growing up in the Church and singing these hymns that are so theologically rich and full of verity.”

“These days, especially, we believe every single song we record and release needs to be heavily anchored in Truth,” Breen adds. “Our hope is that the words of this project will remind people of the absolute trustworthiness and freedom we can find in a life with Christ.”

“Because of the awesome response to Sing Noël, our Christmas project with Point of Grace last year, we couldn’t wait to get these great artists back in the studio,” said Mike Harland, director of LifeWay Worship. “Their new album, Beautiful Name, is full of familiar songs with a fresh and exciting sound only Point of Grace could deliver. Denise, Leigh and Shelley have created an extraordinary worship collection that truly expresses just how beautiful His Name is!”

For more than two decades, Point of Grace’s soaring melodies and rich harmonies have helped define the sound of contemporary Christian music. POINT OF GRACE SERENADES THE SEASON WITH SING NOËL

Written by Staff on November 7, 2017 – 5:25 am -

POINT OF GRACE SERENADES THE SEASON WITH SING NOËL OCTOBER 20

POINT OF GRACE SERENADES THE SEASON WITH SING NOËL

Iconic Group Partners With LifeWay Worship For New Christmas Set

NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Sing Noël, the highly-anticipated, new recording from Platinum-selling, GRAMMY®-nominated Point of Grace, was released October 20. Heralded for multiple classic Christmas recordings spanning a storied career, Sing Noël is Point of Grace’s fifth seasonal set and their LifeWay Worship debut.

Featuring 10 new arrangements of beloved carols and Christmas favorites, the project was produced by Kent Hooper and Phillip Keveren. Opening with a bright, modern rendition of “Angels From the Realms of Glory,” which showcases the group’s signature harmonies, additional highlights of Sing Noël include a “Mary Did You Know?” and “What Child Is This?” medley; the bluegrass-tinged hymn “See Amid the Winter’s Snow;” and the worshipful “Fear Not,” among others.

“It has been several years since we have recorded a Christmas project, and this one is really special,” said Point of Grace’s Shelley Breen. “It has a central focus on the carols of Christmas. It was so fun to sit around together in the beginning stages of the record with our old Baptist hymnals and realize just how many classic carols we had not recorded. Our producers and LifeWay Worship were amazing in helping us find our own ‘spin’ on these songs. I feel like the spirit of the season was captured perfectly! Now, we can’t wait for our amazingly loyal fans to share in our excitement.”

“Sing Noël has been a wonderful Christmas journey for all of us at LifeWay Worship,” said Mike Harland, Director of LifeWay Worship. “As fans, we love it. As friends, we are so proud of who they are and what they have created here. And as ministry partners, we are blessed beyond description to share in the creation of this Kingdom project with true servants of the Church in song.”
