Phil Cross To Perform At 2013 Diamond Awards

Phil_enhanced_closeup-200x300Pigeon Forge, TN (10-28-2013) Coastal Media Group welcomes legendary songwriter, Phil Cross to the Diamond Awards on Tuesday, October 29 in Pigeon Forge.  Cross will be performing during the 22nd Annual Diamond Awards in addition to Gerald Crabb, Doyle Lawson and Quick Silver, The Easters and more.  Phil Cross is a Diamond Awards final nominee for “Songwriter of the Year.”

“It is a special honor to be nominated for “Songwriter of the Year” because the Diamond Awards are fan voted,” Cross stated.  “It is an honor to be nominated and to also sing on this year’s awards program. I’m looking forward to a time of good music and fellowship with great friends.”

Owner of Coastal Media Group and SGNScoops Magazine, Rob Patz commented, “Our industry has been blessed for many years by the music of Phil Cross.  He is a truly a  legend.  We are very excited to have him perform on this year’s Diamond Awards Show.”

Phil Cross is known as a one of today’s most anointed Christian music artists and is highly regarded as a composer, singer, and speaker. Award Winning Gerald Crabb To Perform At 2013 Diamond Awards

PIGEON FORGE,TN (October 18, 2013) SGNScoops Magazine, home of the Diamond Awards, announced that legendary singer, songwriter, Gerald Crabb will perform at the 22nd Annual Diamond Awards Show on Tuesday, geraldprpicOctober 29th in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  Crabb is also nominated for two Diamond Awards this year, Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year for “Hold On,” made popular by Canton Junction. The Diamond Awards Ceremony will take place at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center and will be taped for a television special set to air later this year on Atlanta’s WATC Channel 57.

“I always look forward to the Diamond Awards,” stated Crabb. “The first award ever won by the Crabb Family was a Diamond Award back in 1996.  I like the fact that the Diamond Awards are a fan voted awards ceremony and that anyone can vote. I am honored to be nominated again this year and I am looking forward to performing on the program. It is going to be a fun night!”

About Gerald Crabb:

 Born in Rosine, Kentucky, Gerald Crabb was singing by age 5, playing guitar by age 11 and preaching by age 16. During Gerald’s career, he has written over 400 songs with 22 of those claiming the number one spot nationally.  From Jan. 1998-Dec. 2006, one or more of his songs held the number one position on the national southern gospel chart for 37 months out of a 107-month period.

This singer, songwriter, and preacher has appeared on the Gaither Videos, TBN, The 700 Club, the INSP, CMT & GAC.  He has also performed at Carnegie Hall, The Grand Ole Opry, The Ryman Auditorium, Red Rocks Colorado, and The Brooklyn Tabernacle.  Crabb has also received numerous accolades, nominations, honors and awards during his career span including multiple Songwriter of the Year awards as well as the 2011 Dove Award for Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year for “Sometimes I Cry.”

Bluegrass Legend Doyle Lawson to Perform at 22nd Annual Diamond Awards

DLQ formal group graphicPIGEON FORGE, TN (October 17, 2013)  — Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver are honored to be nominated as Bluegrass Gospel Artist of the Year in the upcoming 22nd Annual Diamond Awards. The group will also perform at the event, which will be taped for a television special set to air later this year on Atlanta’s WATC Channel 57.

The 2013 Diamond Awards are sponsored by SGN Scoops Magazine, the vibrant all-digital source of Southern Gospel News, and will be held at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, as part of the Creekside Gospel Music Convention.

Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver are reigning ICM Vocal Group of the Year, seven-time IBMA Vocal Group of the Year winners, and have multiple Grammy, Dove, ICM, and SPBGMA Award nominations. Lawson is also reigning SPBGMA Mandolin Player of the Year, and was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in September 2012 at the Ryman Auditorium.

redroots colonadeRinggold, GA – October 5, 2013  The GME Showcase Awards were presented October 5th in the beautiful Colonade Theater in Ringgold, GA to an enthusiastic crowd that gathered as some 24shar artist took to the stage.  Many of the artist appeared in the afternoon showcase which featured those who have appeared in previous GME events such as winners of the Gospel Star Talent Search held throughout the year in various cities across the southeast.  One of those artist was the lovely Erica Dalton who recently stepped out in a solo ministry as well as continuing to sing with her family as dates present.  She was the recent winner of the Talent Search held in Hazel Green, Alabama.

Since March of this year, fans have had the opportunity to nominate and vote on favorites in 14 different categories in which awards were given.  The list was narrowed to the top ten voted in each category and then to the top five.  Last night’s award show was the culmination of nearly 70,000 votes cast in the past 60 days alone.

After the awards show, the stage was quickly reset for the evening concert in which was nothing more than fantastic.  The Boynton Choir took to the stage and wowed the audience under the direction of Sheri Thrower.  The voices of over 100 elementary school students filled the auditorium and finished with a climactic applause.

Mark209 was introduced and the mood for the rest of the evening was set.  Their high energy music and vocal styling’s were very well received throughout the evening and at one point people were literally DANCING along the front of the stage.  Their rendition of “Oh Holy Night” brought the crowd to their feet.

Immediately after the stage was filled with banjo’s, fiddles, guitars, drums…. As the recipients of the Singing News New Trio of The Year award, RED ROOTS took to the stage.  Singing hits from their releases such as Double Wide Church, Christian Country Girl and more.  Truly these girls won the hearts of many this evening as they do in all their concerts.

Shelia Reed founded Harvest Outreach Center in 1986, which is a non-profit facility to help the homeless and needy of the North Georgia Communities. Thousands of Men and women have been helped through her ministry over these years, and are still recipients of this work. Shelia also is the recipient of the prestigious Jefferson Award from Washington, DC, for her commitment to her communities without desiring a salary for her endeavors.

As an award winning gospel artist, her style of singing has become a fan favorite.
