Gaston County, NC — Root 66 was currently in the studio working on their sophomore New West Records release. Holly, Stephen and Brian have chosen 10 selections written by award-winning songwriters such as Tony Wood and Jay Demarcus among others. The record will be produced by Blanton, Robertson and Porter with the help of Son Sound Studios head engineer, Ritchie Robinson. The recording is set to release in 2012.

“The songs included on this new album were carefully chosen and recorded to fit the incredibly talented group and their individual personalities. We believe they will grab listeners with their tight harmonies and inspirational lyrics. As I’m listening, I am challenged by the lyrics and inspired by their purpose!” stated New West A&R Director, Scott Whitener.

Root 66 members all have accomplished musical careers and the ministry has been in existence since 2009. Holly Robinson-Blanton has a long gospel music heritage singing as both a solo artist and with the trio 3 For 1 alongside Stephen Robertson. As Root 66, they are joined by their long time friend, Brian Porter to present an inspirational country program with full hearts of praise to the only One worthy, Jesus Christ the Son of God.

The New West Records debut album, “Be a Bridge” by Root 66 is anticipated for release in summer 2011 which is right around the corner. The album will feature several radio singles that will be coming to a station near you soon!
