Worship From Home with The Collingsworth Family

Worship From Home with The Collingsworth Family

Nashville, TN  – When The Collingsworth Family gathered in their living room for a Facebook Live concert event, nobody knew just how special that time would be. What started from a heart to raise money for a worthy organization exceeded expectations and culminated in a powerful worship service. Today, they get to share that worship experience with you again. Worship from Home is an intimate, around-the-piano experience with one of America’s favorite vocal groups.

On March 29, 2020, The Collingsworth Family decided to livestream a concert from their home to benefit Samaritan’s Purse. Just a few days prior, they felt the Lord compelling them to do an online fundraiser and had no idea how far reaching their efforts would be. The day of the event, they made a last-minute decision to record it for archival purposes. The songs they shared were encouraging and calming, something fans so desperately needed, as many states were going into government-imposed lockdowns that very week. Over 600,000 people viewed the online event, and more than $230,000.00 was raised for Samaritan’s Purse, which had just sent a relief team into New York City, the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic at that time.

The Collingsworth Family was thrilled to see what God had done with their act of obedience. Phil Collingsworth, Sr. shares, “When the cameras began to roll and we watched as our crew started the countdown clock to the moment we went live, we had no way of knowing what God had in store for us that evening. We watched as the number of views topped 200,000 and God’s people so generously gave to Samaritan’s Purse, but we didn’t have a clue what that would set in motion!”

Fans flooded their office with requests for CDs and DVDs of the event. Phil continues, “God knew the event would turn into a recording and now be released nationally. That is the God we serve; One who sees beyond what we can see.”

In addition to a newly penned song by Kim Collingsworth, “Joy Is Not Cancelled,” their song selections include hymns and classic songs of the faith they had never previously recorded. Distributed exclusively by Sony/Provident, Worship From Home is available at digital and retail outlets worldwide and is sure to be an uplifting addition to your CD & DVD collections.

The Collingsworth Family

The Collingsworth Family

Nashville, TN  – Like most of us, The Collingsworth Family has the desire to do something helpful during this unprecedented time in our history, and they have found a way to do just that. As a family group, they are uniquely set up to be able to offer a concert from home. This Sunday evening, March 29, they will gather around the piano and do a free concert via Facebook Live. It will begin at 8:00 pm Eastern (7 pm Central). Not only will this be a special time of worship, but it will also be a fundraiser for the international organization, Samaritan’s Purse.

“What an opportunity we have to model Jesus to a world that is sitting up and taking notice in this unprecedented climate,” shares Phil Collingsworth. “We’re thrilled to partner with a sister ministry like Samaritan’s Purse, who is on the front lines of this fight.”

Currently, Samaritan’s Purse, based in Boone, NC, and founded by Franklin Graham, is set up on the frontlines in Cremona, Italy, where their medical team has set up a field hospital and is treating patients who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. During the hour-long Facebook Live concert, fans will have the opportunity to donate directly to Samaritan’s Purse while enjoying the harmonies and music of The Collingsworth Family. 100% of all donations will go directly to Samaritan’s Purse.

IMC CONCERTS ANNOUNCES GOSPEL MUSIC CELEBRATION CRUISE SAILING TO CANADA & NEW ENGLAND IN 2020

Written by Staff on September 5, 2019 – 8:21 pm -

IMC CONCERTS ANNOUNCES GOSPEL MUSIC CELEBRATION CRUISE SAILING TO CANADA & NEW ENGLAND IN 2020Johnson City, TN – Southern Gospel Music lovers will have another option for cruising on the high seas in 2020. IMC Concerts has announced plans for the Gospel Music Celebration to set sail  through New England and into Canada. This new destination for Gospel Music Celebration is to commemorate its 10-year anniversary.
IMC offered its first cruise option to Southern Gospel Music lovers in 2010. Over the past 10 years, Gospel Music Celebration cruises presented by IMC and Inspiration Cruises have historically sold out as Southern Gospel Music lovers have enjoyed trips to such picturesque destinations as the Caribbean, the Mexican Riviera, Alaska and Hawaii.

“For many years we have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with Steve Dick and the great staff at Inspiration Cruises,” states IMC Concerts and GMC President, Landon Beene. “We have partnered with Inspiration to provide the best experience for our passengers from the point of reservation until our passengers walk of the ship. We are delighted to offer this trip to a new destination.”

The Gospel Music Celebration Canada New England Cruise will set sail aboard Holland America’s MS Amsterdam from historic Boston, MA, on September 5 and will return to Quebec City, Canada on September 12 with stops in Bar Harbor, ME, Halifax Nova Scotia, Sydney, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
“Boston and the New England area have such a rich history,” Beene states. “Additionally, it is a beautiful area, especially in the fall of the year. We are delighted to offer this option as a new destination. In fact, it is something our passengers have asked us to offer. We always listen to our passengers and take their requests into consideration when planning trips. There was such an overwhelming success to our first cruise we planned 10 years ago to the Mexican Riviera, then our travelers wanted to go to Alaska, then the Caribbean, then Hawaii. Trips to those destinations have been so successful so we felt it was time to take our friends on a journey of a lifetime to the beautiful New England region. We are looking forward to another sold out Gospel Music Celebration.”
TriumphantAs Beene states, limited cabins are available for this exciting Gospel Music Celebration. “Space is limited to only 650 passengers, so we expect this cruise to sell out very quickly. We encourage Southern Gospel Music lovers to book their reservations very soon,” Been says.
The 2020 Canada New England Gospel Music Celebration  will feature many of the most popular groups in Southern Gospel Music, including the Booth Brothers, The Collingsworth Family, Greater Vision, Legacy Five and Triumphant Quartet, as well as fan favorite, renown speaker, Dennis Swanberg.

The Collingsworth Family Performs at National Day of Prayer Banquet in Washington, D.C.

Nashville, TN The Collingsworth Family had the distinct honor of performing at the Celebration Banquet for the 2019 National Day of Prayer events on April 30th in Washington, D.C. Their performance at the invitation-only banquet, held at the Ronald Reagan International Center, was attended by numerous guests, including many members of the U.S. Congress as well as other high ranking U.S. Government officials.

Phil Collingsworth, Sr. shares, “It was an honor to have been asked by the National Day of Prayer committee to perform for their opening ceremonies this year in Washington, D.C. Our family so enjoyed talking with Dr. James and Shirley Dobson, who have so long been associated with the NDOP (Shirley Dobson was the president for 25 years.) To see that group of politicians and associated government dignitaries call on our Creator and ask for His intervention was an experience of a lifetime for our family. And to enjoy a personal tour of the U.S. Capitol at midnight and to sit in the empty House Chamber and pray aloud for those who would be sitting in those seats the next day was a moment I will never, ever forget.”

Producer and co-founder of StowTown Records, Wayne Haun, was delighted to be able to attend the banquet with The Collingsworth Family. “Several hundred dignitaries had been sitting for more than two hours when The Collingsworth Family took the stage, and the room was literally transformed. Immediately, the breath of fresh air in that room was felt by all of us, and that was reflected by looks of true joy on each and every face. I know The Collingsworth Family was honored to be there to sing, but it was evident that, at that very moment, the roles were reversed. We were all honored by their presence. We have something very special in The Collingsworth Family.”

May 2nd was the National Day of Prayer, which was observed by millions for the 68th year. The National Day of Prayer initiative was passed into law in 1952 under President Harry S. Truman.  Decades later, in 1988, President Ronald Reagan designated the first Thursday in May as the annual observance for the National Day of Prayer. It now includes multiple events during the week, bringing more opportunities for people to gather with the common purpose of interceding for America. The Collingsworth Family Plays Carnegie Hall

The Collingsworth Family Plays Carnegie Hall

(Nashville, TN)…The Collingsworth Family was honored to be invited to perform at the world famous Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Having the opportunity afforded to us to perform at historic Carnegie Hall in New York City was a high-water mark in our ministry,” exclaimed Phil Collingsworth.

The very special evening also included popular evangelist Dr. David Jeremiah, along with The Shadow Mountain Choir & Orchestra, conducted by Tobin Davis.

To stand on that stage, knowing how much American history has intersected with that iconic venue was both humbling and exhilarating at the same time,” added Phil. “To see the audience stand to their feet in praise to our Heavenly Father was an experience of a lifetime to say the least!!”

Their first-ever appearance at Carnegie Hall adds to an ever-growing list of of highlights for The Collingsworth Family ministry.

The Cincinatti-based powerhouse group has been featured on the nation’s largest gospel music syndicated radio program, The Gospel Greats with Paul Heil as well as on Daniel Britt & Friends on XM/SIRIUS Satellite Radio’s Enlighten.

In addition, the family group has been featured on numerous Gaither Homecoming Series video recordings, has performed alongside the world famous Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir on multiple occasions and has been thrilled to hold concerts at venues all across the United States, Canada, the Cayman Islands and Sweden.

The Collingsworth Family recently released their first-ever violin duet album by two of their daughters, aptly titled Brooklyn & Courtney, which followed their most recent standout group project, That Day Is Coming.

Written by Staff on June 17, 2015 – 9:24 am -

wackywednesdayThanks for joining us for another Wacky Wednesday on SGN Scoops. Today we ask the deeply spiritual question, “What kind of watches do male artists wear?” SGN Scoops polled about 18 or so artists about various things and tabulated their answers. We have used this (not so great) scientific process to create today’s Wacky Wednesday Top Ten (more or less)!

Our panel of expert classy male Southern Gospel artists gave us the following answers.

Chris Jenkins, The Kingsmen

Written by Staff on May 20, 2015 – 8:10 am -

Today our subject is: What can someone new to Southern Gospel expect at a concert?
