James Rainey Begins New Recording Label

Written by SGN Scoops on October 31, 2013 – 12:11 pm -

Harrisburg, Illinois James Rainey Productions announced today that his company is embarking on a new chapter in their line of Declaration212 Label logoquality Gospel Music with a brand-new recording studio and label in Harrisburg, Illinois.  James is enthusiastic about the future of this studio, and the artists that currently are recording at this amazing facility.  The mission of James’s studio is to provide excellence and professionalism in recording while at the same time making the their efforts cost effective to Gospel artists.

James has had over 25 years experience in Gospel Music as the pianist and arranger for such groups as The Singing Americans, The Trailblazers, The Hoppers and The Greenes. This new studio promises to deliver innovative recorded product from a plethora of gospel music’s developing artists.  Another aspect to his production studio is the inception of a brand new recording label: Declaration 212 Productions.  Some may ask, ” What does that mean? ”  Declaration of course is making a statement . 212 – At 211 degrees, water is just hot. At 212, it produces steam. And with steam you can power a train.  James believes that the extra degree makes all the difference. We declare that we are that one degree –  we will not stop with 211, but push to achieve that extra degree.

Headlining the new label is Steve Hess and Southern Salvation. This trio promises to be one the greatest trios ever to hit the southern gospel market. With a name like HESS, it doesn’t get any better than that.

Also, John Nimmo is finishing up what looks like to be the most unique Christmas CD ever. John and James have combined some of music’s greatest moments into traditional Christmas songs, giving them a total new flavor. There is even a sax solo on one of the songs from the great Phil Kenzie, who has played for the Beatles, Rod Stewart, The Eagles, the famous baker street sax solo, and much more. The drummer is Tim Horsley who has played for many of country’s greatest stars. Miss Natalie Cameron, friends with Vince Gill, is doing the background vocals.

The label is accepting demos from new and upcoming artists.  You can contact James about this exciting new studio and label. Phone 304-421-1278   jm.rainey@yahoo.com     Facebook: james michael rainey   Website: theraineysmusic.com

Songfellows Quartet Personel Changes

Written by SGN Scoops Staff on February 15, 2011 – 3:44 pm -

Brad Smith

Nashville-TN-  Homeland Records recording artists The Legendary
Songfellows Quartet announced today some exciting changes that are taking
place in the group effective immediately.

Songfellows Quartet owner Bob Jones stated “Just like the Bible tells us,
there is a season to everything.  We all go through those seasons and
seasons bring about changes.  Oftentimes those changes bring excitement
and new beginnings and at this time with some members leaving to pursue
other interests, God has brought us new personnel that are no strangers to
Gospel Music Fans nationwide.  So joining Baritone Ed Hill and me are two
familiar faces.  On each end of the quartet will be, Tenor Rick Strickland
and Bass Brad Smith.

Strickland who currently resides in Greenville, TN is a multi-year veteran

Rick Strickland

in Gospel Music who began his career in 1983 with The Singing Americans
during the era when “I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy” was a multi-award
winning song, that became a signature song of The Singing Americans
throughout the rest of their career in Gospel Music. Most gospel music
fans loved the classic renditions Rick sings of songs like “Glory Road”
and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. Rick has spent over 27 years with other
artists at the tenor position such as The Sound, The Kingdom Heirs and The
Stamps Quartet.

Smith comes to the Songfellows with a fine resume as well to his credit.
Brad has performed with groups such as The Impacts, The New Speers, and
The Statesmen.  Brad and his family make their home in Goodlettsville, TN
and he shares the excitement and is ready to get back to seeing Gospel
Music Fans again.

Ed Hill who has been the baritone vocalist for the past year with The
Songfellows is enjoying his time too getting reacquainted with many of the
people that have supported him throughout his 40 plus years singing with
groups such as The Prophets, The Statesmen, Singing Americans, and The
Masters V who later became The Stamps Quartet.

The Songfellows Quartet was based in California for over fifty years and
moved to Nashville in 2006.  They now tour and appear in concerts all
across the nation.  Their style is traditional four part, big full harmony
Southern Gospel Quartet singing.  “There are not many quartets like us
left, the days of the Statesmen, Stamps and Cathedrals have past but a
love for that sound and feel in gospel music has not” added Bob Jones,
“with this line-up of veteran  singers, the folks who missed those great
groups will get a taste of what it was like in the ‘Golden Era’ and
discover the music that launched this great style of Gospel Music.” You
can also catch the Songfellows Quartet’s live performances on the
nationally syndicated Television show Brush Arbor Jubilee.

The first weekend that Gospel Music fans will be able to witness this new
lineup of The Songfellows will be next weekend Feb 10th through the 13th
