Triumphant Quartet: Living In Harmony

Triumphant

Triumphant

By Paige Givens
Southern Gospel music has been blessed with an abundance of amazing quartets, whose sound and talent keep people coming back for more. There is something about quartet singing that goes beyond simple enjoyment for both the singer and the listener. Gospel quartets have the ability to take the songs of old, songs of our Christian heritage, as well as new and inspired songs, and wrap them tightly in beautiful harmonies before sending them straight to the heart.

In this industry full of wonderful quartets, there are some that especially stand out, and Triumphant Quartet is one such group. Since they formed in 2003, Triumphant Quartet has enjoyed an exquisite harmony both on and off stage. They demonstrate the joys of living in harmony with one another and with the Lord.
The group actually began as singers for Sunday services in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Tenor David Sutton recalls, “Eric Bennett, Jeff Stice, and I had been volunteering at the Louise Mandrell Theater in Pigeon Forge, singing at her Sunday morning worship services that she held for tourists. She had the vision of having a gospel quartet at her theater doing morning shows and a Sunday night show. She approached us about the opportunity of forming a group to do this. To be honest with you, when she did, we all said, ‘We are happy and not interested but we will keep it in our prayers.’ A little time passed and she asked again. This went on for several weeks and finally we agreed to sit down and talk with her about what her vision was. Because of her vision and lots of prayer, this group was formed, and God continues to bless.”

David goes on to explain how the group was named Triumphant Quartet. “The name Triumphant came from three fans. When the group formed we were known as Integrity. After a little over a year of singing, we received a letter from a well-known business that had the same name. They were in our same genre of music and felt because of the years they had used the name, there was a conflict of interest, so we decided to take a negative and turn it into a positive. We got with the management team at the theater and started coming up with ideas. We came up with the idea to let the fans pick our name. We started doing national marketing asking fans to submit names. We had over 3500 names submitted. We narrowed it down to our top five and went to Trademark attorneys to search the names out. Our top pick was Triumphant. We had three different people submit this name. We invited all three people to our show one Sunday night at the theater and presented them all with gifts.”

Triumphant Completes Media Blitz

Triumphant Completes Media Blitz

June 12, 2015 (Nashville, TN). . . StowTown Records powerhouse quartet, Triumphant, recently completed a daylong media blitz to showcase its brand new album, Living In Harmony.

The group first took part in a one hour “takeover” at Solid Gospel, visiting with host deejay Gregg Hutchins who played several selections from the new project during his live morning show.
Later in the day, the quartet performed in front of a live audience at Sirius XM’s theater inside Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. Triumphant hosted a one-hour taping for Sirius XM’s EnLighten Channel. The show will soon be featured on EnLighten.
“What an incredible opportunity it was to debut our new album, Living In Harmony, on Sirius XM Radio’s EnLighten Channel. It was a fast and fun hour, sharing stories, testimonies and singing!” said group baritone Scott Inman.
Individual performances included the title track, “Living In Harmony”, along with “Amazing God”, “Jesus Must Have Been Here”, “Black & White” and “Has There Ever Been.”
EnLighten has become THE largest format for all Southern Gospel listeners to tune in and listen to 24 hours of the music they love!” added Inman. “We are thankful to be a part of StowTown Records and their vision to partner with an incredible force such as EnLighten.”
Living In Harmony hit the market in April, making an impressive debut in the Top 10 of the Soundscan Southern Album Chart and the Top 100 of the Christian Music Chart. The album is currently available online and at bookstores everywhere.

StowTown Records and Triumphant celebrate the release of 'Living In Harmony'

StowTown Records and Triumphant celebrate the release of ‘Living In Harmony’

(Nashville, TN) StowTown Records and one of Southern Gospel’s most popular quartets, Triumphant, are proud to announce the release of their brand new project, Living In Harmony.
The album, which hit the market on April 14, made an impressive debut by landing in the Top 10 of the recent Soundscan Southern Album Chart and the Top 100 of the Christian Music Chart.
“Triumphant is very excited about our new StowTown record release. We have been working on this project for several months and really spent a lot of time picking songs for this recording,” said David Sutton, longtime tenor and co-founder of the group. “We feel truly blessed and honored to have received the songs that we got for this project from some of the best writers in our field of music today.”

“Our prayer is that we can portray these songs in a way that people will hear the lyrics and feel the presence of God in their lives while listening.” “Living in Harmony”, written by Jeff Bumgardner and Triumphant baritone Scott Inman, also happens to be the first single release from the project and is now being heard throughout the country.

“If there has ever been a time where Christians need to come together for the cause of Christ, NOW is the time,” exclaimed Inman. “I pray “Living in Harmony” is a lyric people will put in motion on a daily basis.”

Triumphant is currently holding a social media contest on Facebook and Twitter for all of their followers. Fans can send the group a photo by Thursday, April 30, showing themselves along with their purchase of Living In Harmony at a local Christian bookstore or outlet and be entered into a special drawing. The winner will earn an exclusive dinner with the entire group in the near future.
This marks the premiere release with StowTown for Triumphant, a multi-award winning quartet who joined the fast-rising label last summer. “We are very thankful for the relationship we have developed with the StowTown team. We are looking forward to a long-term relationship with this company,” added Sutton. “They have a heart for the groups and a heart for making good music. That’s a company we want our name to be attached to and are so honored to be a part of.”

“We all want to ‘live in harmony’ together and we hope you enjoy our new CD from StowTown Records…Living In Harmony!”
