Luke 9:24 (KJV)
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
Sometimes what we strive to hold can be kept only by surrendering it to God. This applies to our hopes as well as to our very lives .
Every person experiences desires that will not be quenched and circumstances that cause grief.
Remember the Bible story of Hannah?
Hannah’s longing for a child was obviously placed in her heart by God Himself. Her husband tries to comfort her, saying in loving exasperation, “Am I not more to you than ten sons?” He does not understand why she cannot be content with what she has – namely, him! But Hannah’s desire for a son would not be quenched. She was mocked by Peninnah and rebuked by Eli, but heard by God. God did not chastise her for being discontent. We know that Godly contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6). But that does not mean that our human desires – even those that overwhelm us with sorrow when they are unmet – are sinful in God’s eyes. He understands our feelings. He knows that “a hope deferred makes the heart sick” (Proverbs 13:12). And He invites us to bring our requests to Him (Philippians 4:6).
Many times, we simply do not understand these things. God knows our story from beginning to end, that everything has a purpose, and that trust in Him is never misplaced.
He alone can fulfill your desires or change them to match His will.
God isn’t preparing a blessing for you, He is preparing YOU for the blessing!
Happy Weekend Everyone…..

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

We live in a world with separation all around us. Parents separated from children, husbands from wives, friends from friends, and so on.  But as Christians we will never have to face separation from Jesus’ unfailing love.

Let this scripture be an encouragement to you today as you search for and “see” His love in your life.

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Word from Scoops

Weekend Word from Scoops…..

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Real friends are so valuable. They are more valuable than precious jewels. Friends that

know your fears, your struggles, and your weaknesses and like you anyway are priceless.

If you have a friend like this, Thank the Lord!

Be thankful for your friends who love you no matter what and strive to be that kind of friend to others.

Show the kind of forgiving love and grace that is shown to you every day by your Heavenly Father.

Today would be a good day to let your true friends know that you love and appreciate them.

Weekend Word

Here’s a Weekend Word from Scoops…..

You are my strength, I watch for You; You, God are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely!
Psalm 59:9-10

Change isn’t easy. It’s seldom welcomed, but absolutely necessary.
Have you been through a few changes recently? Did you survive? For the most part, did it result in good growth for you?
Just praising God this morning for guidance .
Any one out there in a rut? Ask God to help you embrace change as He moves you.
The only difference in a rut and a grave is the size of the hole……
No matter your age, embrace change and watch God grow you into what He has you to be…

Have a great day Facebook friends!
