Williamsons

Karl Rice, member of gospel artists the Williamsons, posted this tragic note on Facebook, earlier today:

Curtis and Karl Rice

“My older brother was rock climbing yesterday when his anchor rope gave way and he tragically lost his life. You never see days like today coming. I loved him. He was an amazing friend, brother, and father. 38 years young. We had a hiking/camping/fishing trip planned for

Curtis and Karl Rice

two weeks from now. I’m a wreck. Please pray for my family, but especially parents and my nieces, who will take it the hardest.”

There has been a GoFundMe account set up for the family of Curtis Rice. Karl explains:

“This is in support of my brothers family and funeral expenses. Much like him, he planned on living a long life and wasn’t prepared for something like this. Thank you for all you can do.”

Please click HERE to donate.

SGNScoops sends their sincerest sympathies to the Rice family at this difficult time.

Williamsons Appear at Beacon Park, Silver Dollar City and More

Williamsons Appear at Beacon Park, Silver Dollar City and More

Williamsons Appear at Beacon Park, Silver Dollar City and More

Nashville, TN  The Williamsons have been part of some exciting events this summer! The Williamsons made a repeat appearance at the Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma. Thousands make their way each year to the Choctaw Nation’s capitol for the annual celebration. Many top artists from country and Christian music perform including the Kingsmen, Jason Crabb and Chris Tomlin. The Williamsons sang to a crowd of over 7,500.

The group also made their way to possibly the largest Gospel event in the country, the Southern Gospel Picnic at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. Over 70 groups appear each year during the twelve-day festival. The Williamsons have been part of the program for numerous years!

The Williamsons summer tour also included an appearance at the Oklahoma All-Night Gospel Singing at the Veterans Park in Konawa, Oklahoma. This is one of the longest running outdoor Gospel music events having been held each year for over 50 years!  “This is such a wonderful event. We are always honored to  be a part of it, “stated Donnie Williamson.

In June they made their second appearance at Beacon Park in Harrison, Ark. Over the last few years, Arvin Adams has turned this in to one of the finest events in the Midwest.

Later in August, the Williamsons were honored to be invited back for the second time to the Grape Festival in Tonitown, Arkansas. The festival has been running for over 120 years but only added Gospel music to the event in 2017.  It was so well received that The Williamsons were invited for a return appearance this year. Some 120,000 visitors make their way to Tontitown during the five-day event.

Summer has truly been a cross-country adventure for the Williamsons. In addition to these great events, the Williamsons have a kept a busy schedule with many church services and revivals.

Williamsons feature in SGNScoops On The Road

Written by Staff on January 12, 2018 – 12:49 pm -

The Williamsons

The Williamsons: Donnie and Lisa Williamson, Karl Rice, Darin Hebert

SGNScoops is “On The Road!” SGNScoops Magazine writer Robert York had the opportunity to spend some time with the Williamsons last weekend. The group traveled all the way from Weleetka, Okla. to be in Georgia. Saturday night was the 75th birthday concert for their friend James Wright of the Wright Family. Also that evening, the Wright Family performed as well as David Gresham. In addition to Donnie and Lisa Williamson, the group includes Darin Hubert and Karl Rice.

The Williamsons

The Williamsons and hosts of Gospel Music USA, Karen Peck, Danny Jones

Donnie Williamson let me know that they would be at Southern Gospel Weekend coming up in Oxford, Alab., March 1, 2, 3. They also had their daughters with them. Monday morning they were scheduled to tape two TV programs for ‘Gospel Music USA’ which is hosted by Danny Jones, Mike LeFevre, and Karen Peck. I met the group with Danny Jones at Cracker Barrel for breakfast before the taping, enjoying a lot of joking and fun. You get Danny and Donnie together and you are in for a treat.

On to the tv station for the taping which was scheduled to start at noon. They taped the two programs and the interviews were just as much fun as breakfast. Also at the taping, the daughters and Lisa sang as a trio together. Gospel Music USA is aired on WATC-TV, which is available in the Atlanta area and also on the internet at www.watc.tv.

The Williamsons have produced more than a dozen recordings, performing material that is mostly written by Lisa and Donnie. They have been nominated in the Top Ten Best Mixed Group across the nation and have had several top 10 songs.

WilliamsonsMake your reservations and pack your bags and come to Oxford, Alab., on March 1, 2, 3 and be the Williamsons and many other great Gospel groups. For more information on Southern Gospel Weekend click here.

Nashville, TN (November 6, 2017) Pigeon Forge Tennessee has become a destination for Southern Gospel Fans. During the month of October, several Butler Music Group artists appeared at Dollywood as part of their month-long concert series.

Butler Music Group Artists Shine At Dollywood's Fall Harvest CelebrationThe Showstreet Palace in Dollywood played host to four Butler Music Group artists. The Williamsons are staples on the largest stages Gospel Music has to offer. They performed many of their hit songs including their Singing News #1 song, “Shout.” Also appearing at Showstreet were the Old Time Preachers Quartet, Heaven’s Mountain Band, and Jason Davidson. The Old Time Preachers Quartet, fresh off their debut appearance at NQC, received an enthusiastic welcome from 5 standing room only crowds. Heavens Mountain Band is often mentioned alongside groups such as the Issacs and Primitive Quartet. They appeared on multiple days and their theater was also standing room only for each show. The 2018 Harvest Festival marked the first appearance for breakout soloist, Jason Davidson. “In addition to singing and playing with my own quartet, I thoroughly enjoyed playing mandolin with Heaven’s Mountain Band and piano with Jason Davidson. It was a special treat to play along-side my son, Matt who played bass for Jason. My daughter was emcee for this series. What a proud moment,” states BMG owner, Les Butler.

Butler Music Group Artists Shine At Dollywood's Fall Harvest CelebrationOne of the many great things that makes the Fall Harvest Celebration so great is being able to see so many groups at one time spread out across the park. The Coffmans and Sacred Harmony were invited to perform this year at Dollywood with the Coffmans appearing at the Back Porch Theater and Sacred Harmony at the Valley Theater. Both groups performed to packed out crowds.

Fans are encouraged to make plans now to attend the 2018 Fall Harvest Celebration to see these incredible Butler Music Groups artists and more. For more information, go to www.dollywood.com.
