SGNScoops Meets Mallory Ledford at NQC

During the 2010 National Quartet Convention, SGNScoops had the pleasure of meeting one of Gospel Music’s youngest and most promising artists.  Beautiful, fourteen year old Mallory Ledford of Cleveland Tennessee has been singing the good news of Jesus Christ since she was a young toddler.  While young girls are usually caught up into the thrill of middle and high school activities, Mallory accepted the call to music ministry and has committed her life to travel and sing for Christ.

Mallory clearly possesses vocal talent that is well beyond her years.  She has a dynamic vocal range, control and confidence that is unusual for her age.  Her sweet disposition,  love for God and commitment to serving Him indicates a spiritual maturity that is well beyond her years as well.  “I often think of what a privilege it is to watch her grow in Christ as well as in her amazing ability to sing. Her gift is truly of God and all praise be to Him.” – Wade Ledford (Mallory’s father)

Mallory’s clear sweet voice moves audiences of all ages.  When asked her most memorable performance, she named “Freedom Hall” at the National Quartet Convention and Charles Stanley’s First Baptist Church of Atlanta.  Mallory attributes her style to Sandi Patti and Charlotte Church, but has been most influenced by Karen Peck Gooch.  “I think she seems genuine and real…I have met some who are not”, explained Mallory.   Mallory Ledford has an impressive 6 albums under her belt.  She was only 8 years old when she recorded her first album. However, her latest project entitled “Where I go” is her favorite and was recorded at age 13. Mallory has a huge “say-so”  in song selection for her albums.  ” If I don’t like it, there’s no use in even trying to get me to sing it”, Mallory stated.  “Where I go” is an album of 10 songs including ” Grace Will Go Where I Go”, “He Whispers Sweet Peace” and “When That Day Comes” produced by Phil Cross.

Mallory is loved, supported and managed by her  parents.  When Mallory isn’t busy singing, she enjoys spending time with a few close friends and enjoys art work- drawing particularly.  To read more about her ministry, her schedule and music visit http://www.malloryledfordministries.com/ or call 423-665-3187.

SGNScoops expresses appreciation to the Ledford family for visiting our booth at the National Quartet Convention and we are excited to see God’s plans for Mallory’s bright future.
