Russ Taff Added as Featured Performer at Branson Gospel Music Convention

BRANSON, Mo. – (June 3, 2010) – Excitement continues to build for the 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Covention which returns to Branson, Missouri this month. Rod and Kelly Burton of YMR Productions, LLC are excited to announce the addition of Grammy and Dove Award winning soloist Russ Taff to the event’s growing list of performers.

Russ Taff’s music has won him not only a wide audience and critical acclaim, but a total of five Grammy Awards and nine Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. He has been hailed by Billboard Magazine as “the single most electrifying voice in Christian music.”

“We are so excited about having Russ participate in this year’s Branson GMC,” mentioned Rod Burton of YMR Productions, LLC. “Russ and his wife Tori have become great friends of mine and Kelly’s, and we are humbled to see him support this event! We know that his passion and talent are going to add a lot to our program this year!”

Russ Taff joins the growing list of performers that have already been announced. The following artists are scheduled to make first-time appearances during the week long event as well: Dino, HisSong, Melody Boys, Ricky Atkinson, Mystery Men Quartet, The Northmen, Buddy Liles, and the newly-formed Freedom (featuring John Rulapaugh and Josh Garner).

YMR Productions, LLC also announced the return of many of the most requested artists from the 2009 event including (but not limited to) the Chuck Wagon Gang, Blackwood Quartet, Kenny Bishop, Young Harmony, Beyond the Ashes, Shannon Bunch, Wendy Word + forgiven, Eric Hinson and Hinson Revival (which began at the 2009 event), McMillan & Life, English Family, Sunday Edition, 2nd Generation, The Roarks, and Ron Brewer.

Branson Gospel Music Convention Named 2010 Pacesetter

BRANSON, Mo. – The SGN Music Awards were handed out this month in Smyrna, TN, and after its first year as a major concert event in the Southern Gospel Community, the Branson Gospel Music Convention was named the 2010 Pacesetter.

The Pacesetter Award honors individuals, companies, artists, events, and the like who raise the standard in the industry during the previous year.  Past winners have included such names as the Crabb Family, Daywind Records, Booth Brothers, artist manager Kathy Hannah and last year’s winner the National Quartet Convention (in addition to many others).  It is the most prestigious award handed out at the awards program.

Rod Burton, co-owner of YMR Productions, LLC said, “We are beyond thrilled to have received this recognition from peers and fans after our first year. Branson GMC is a labor of love and a work of friends and family. We are proud, excited, humbled, but mostly blessed to know it is making a difference to people.”

“The SGN Music Awards show was a beautiful night celebrating what gospel music is all about,” mentioned Kelly Burton, Program Director for the Branson Gospel Music Convention. “It was an honor for us to be there and to share this award with each other and with all the people who believe in Branson GMC.”

The Branson Gospel Music Convention was honored to be mentioned in the same category and stand along side such names like Crossroads Music Group, Chuck Peters and the SGShowPrep, SGN Scoops Digital, and Vine Records.

The SGN Music Award nominees were chosen by the staff of SoGospelNews.com (now known as AbsolutelyGospel.com) and select members of the Southern Gospel media and community. Voting was then open to fans to choose the winners.

The 2010 SGN Music Awards Celebration took place on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tennessee to a standing room only crowd.

2010 Branson Gospel Music Convention Partners with Local Media For Major Push of Event

BRANSON, Mo. – YMR Music Productions, LLC. Is proud to announce that the 2010 Branson Gospel Music Convention will once again come together with local media to push the event.

Like last year, the Branson GMC will partner with MorningSide and the Jim Bakker Show throughout the week of the event.  The Jim Bakker Show will feature many of the performing artists featured at the popular concert event – including names like the Chuck Wagon Gang, HisSong, McMillan & Life, and Hinson Revival.

Kelly Burton, Program Director for the Branson Gospel Music Convention said, “The great people of MorningSide embraced us from our start in 2009. They have a rich legacy of evangelism through many means, including song, and we are grateful for the chance to work with them again.”

In addition, MorningSide and the Branson Gospel Music Convention will be joining together for a special Friday evening concert on June 25, 2010 that will feature Branson’s Marcey Wall, Hinson Revival and additional artists yet to be confirmed.  This concert will precede the week-long event in order to give it an extra boost in local awareness.

New this year, the convention will be the sole subject of DJ Karen Berka’s “Branson Radio Live” show at the Little Opry Theatre on Sunday, June 27, 2010.  Berka’s weekly Sunday program draws a studio audience of over 200 people and a listening audience via KBFL 99.9 FM and 1060 AM, as well as the Branson Radio Live stream from the show’s website.

“We’re so excited to be working with strong local partners who share our enthusiasm to share the Gospel in Branson,” mentioned YMR Production’s Rod Burton. “Karen has generously embraced Branson GMC and hers is a natural outlet to showcase Gospel artists who may not have seen the Branson audience before.

Berka will kick off Branson GMC week by featuring interviews with and songs by select artists on her stage at the IMAX Entertainment complex in Branson.

BRANSON, Mo. – After its first year as a major concert event in the Southern Gospel Community, the Branson Gospel Music Convention was honored as one of five nominees for the 2010 Pacesetter in the SGN Music Awards.

YMR Music Productions Announces 2010 Branson Gospel Music Convention

BRANSON, Mo. – YMR Music Productions, LLC. announced the 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention at a press conference this past Friday, November 6, 2009 held at the Boxcar Willie Inn in Branson, Missouri.

The Branson Gospel Music Convention is to take place beginning Monday evening, June 28, through Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Branson Convention Center across from Branson Landing. Concerts will run every night, with matinees offered Tuesday through Friday and will feature over 150 gospel music artists from across the country, as well as exhibitors from the southern and country gospel music industries, Christian radio stations and retailers, record companies, and television broadcast stations.

For the 2010 endeavor, the organizers of the convention will be joining extensively with Branson and Ozark based businesses to bring awareness of the convention and its artists to the local area.

“We love the city of Branson and all it has to offer,” says Rod Burton, co-owner of YMR Music Productions and himself a gospel artist. “We are excited about bringing the music that we love to this great place during a time when the families of artists and audiences alike will be able to enjoy all that the convention and the city offers.”

The convention ticket prices are held to a low, family-friendly rate. A tour coordinator has been brought on staff to bring in fans from across the United States and Canada.

“We are pleased to offer fans an exciting time of music and ministry at an affordable rate,” Burton continues. ”By working with local Branson contacts, we are working to make their trip an unforgettable vacation that will also include tastes and sights from around the city and the excitement of the 4th of July celebrations that are held.”

YMR Music Productions, LLC. is partnering with both national and local businesses to promote the convention. They announced partnerships with Faith and Family TV, Sky Angel TV, SGM Radio, and SGN Scoops Digital Magazine.

Locally, the convention has already partnered with several Branson favorites: Dino’s 24 Karrot Café will serve as the official place for dining and fellowship during the event, while Juliano’s Catering and Event Planning will be the official caterer. The Branson Tourism Center will be will be selling tickets for the event, and Lakeside RV will be the official campground for artists and audience buses and RVs.

“The city of Branson has been so welcoming to us,” says Kelly Burton, co-owner of YMR Music Productions. “After holding the convention here in 2009, we formed connections with many wonderful businesses and people. We are excited to continue developing relationships and promoting this great place.”

In addition to the convention, YMR Music Productions, LLC. is also hosting a series of concerts called “Give the Gospel,” which will be held in select cities across the country, headlining national gospel groups and local favorites, and benefiting local charities.

“We believe the message of the gospel is the most important thing we offer,” Rod says, “And part of that message is showing kindness in a tangible way to the people who need it most.”

The first of these events took place Friday, November 6, 2009, at the Cowan Center, 500 Elm Street, Lebanon, Missouri. Featuring Ron Blackwood and the Blackwood Quartet, Rod Burton, and locally-based Ascension Quartet, the concert profits will benefit the Pregnancy Support Center of Laclede County.

Press conference being held to announce Branson Gospel Music Convention 2010

Branson, MO – YMR Music Productions, LLC. invites the local media to a press conference on Friday, November 6,2009 to announce the 2010 Branson Gospel Music Convention.

The press conference will be held at the Boxcar Willie Inn. 360 Schaefer Drive in Branson MO, from 10:00 am until 11:00am and will be facilitated by Rod Burton, co-owner of the convention, along with headliner and Branson business owner Dino Kartsonakis, convention board member and gospel music legend Ron Blackwood, and convention sponsor Rob Patz of Coastal Media Group. Community leaders are expected to be in attendance as well.
