Pat Barker University coming to Southern Gospel Weekend 2018

We are excited to offer the Pat Barker University at Southern Gospel Weekend 2018.

The class will offer instruction on Stage Presence, Vocal Training, Product Placement, and Concert Programming. PBU will take place on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 2-4 pm (CST) at the Oxford Civic Center in Oxford, Alabama..

Artists and guests will be allowed to attend on a first come, first serve basis. Please call 256-310-7892 to reserve your seat today. The fee is $25 per person.

Southern Gospel Weekend will kick off Thursday March 1, 2018 at 5 pm at the beautiful Oxford Civic Center in Oxford, Alabama.

Southern Gospel Weekend Lineup Growing….

The talent for SGW is stepping it up in 2018! Several artists have been added to the roster. Prepare to hear some of your favorites like Gold City, The Steeles, Pat Barker, The Bibletones, The Pine Ridge Boys, Mark 209, The Williamsons and many others.

Board member Vonda Easley states, “I was hoping we would get to have Gold City with us this year. I’ve never seen a disappointed crowd when our area’s quartet steps on the stage.”

Board member Rob Patz (WPIL Gospel Radio and SGN Scoops Magazine) adds, “Pat Barker will bring his University of Knowledge to the event as well. Church choirs, gospel singers, and just people who love music are encouraged to sign up for the Pat Barker University. We also have openings for choirs to come and participate in our Red Back Hymn Sing that will take place on Saturday night.”

Other activities for Southern Gospel Weekend include “Salute to the Veterans” hosted by Ken Rollins (Veterans Affairs TV25) on Thursday night, daytime showcases on Friday and Saturday morning at 9 am in the concert hall, as well as Midnight Prayer on Thursday and Friday night after the evening concert.

Southern Gospel Weekend is excited to announce “Faith , Family, and Freedom” on Thursday night March 1st, 2018. We are excited to be honoring Oxford’s Heroes, All Veterans, Military and First Responders.
As a dedication to the veteran’s that lived in Oxford, Alabama and the public safety personnel that have been killed in the line of duty, the City built Liberty Park. Liberty Park is located at the south end of the civic center. Liberty Park is free and open to the public 24 hours per day, according to Oxford Access Magazine.

The evening festivities will begin at 5 pm. Invite everyone you know to this free, 3- day Southern Gospel Event, especially every veteran , military, or first responder. We want this to be a special time for them as we celebrate what Faith, Family, and Freedom mean to us.
