JOEY+RORY’s The Singer And The Song Offers Duo’s Hits and Unreleased Material

New CD + DVD Capture Couple’s Musical and Personal Histories; Shines Light on Importance of Hope Despite Tough Times

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – September 7, 2018 – Featuring 20 of Joey+Rory’s most-requested hits as well as never-before-released content, The Singer And The Song: The Best Of Joey+Rory (Gaither Music Group/Farmhouse Recordings) offers a closer look into the GRAMMY-winning duo’s history and the music that defined their career. The “Best Of” collection includes a CD with the country music duo’s hits, while a DVD offers interviews with Rory and more on the couple’s love story and life together.

JOEY+RORY’s The Singer And The Song Offers Duo’s Hits and Unreleased MaterialThe Singer And The Song CD features more than a dozen songs that brought out the best in the husband and wife’s lives and careers, along with a personal, 28-page booklet from Rory. The DVD consists of more than two-and-a-half hours of content, including a tour of the family farm, acoustic performances by Rory and an interview with Bill Gaither that captures Rory’s ever-inspiring story of hope in spite of hard times.

“The songs that appear on this ‘Best Of’ record are not our greatest hits,” Rory says in the CD booklet. “Instead, they are the songs that brought out the best in us. These, along with many others. Each time we went into the recording studio, we tried our best to choose the best songs we could for where we were in our lives. Sometimes they were songs that we had written, a good bit more of the time they were songs from friends, strangers, and now and then heroes of ours.”

JOEY+RORY’s The Singer And The Song Offers Duo’s Hits and Unreleased MaterialArtist and storyteller Rory Feek has found a new normal over the past few years, parenting his daughter Indiana, authoring two bestselling books, managing his farm and singing for the first time since the passing of his wife, Joey, in 2016. The couple captured the hearts of millions as Rory chronicled their love story and Joey’s cancer battle on his blog, as well as their preparation for her passing in March 2016.
But there’s much more to the story: the couple met in the early 2000s, when Joey was still an aspiring country singer. They eventually fell in love, married and recorded Joey’s debut album, If Not For You(Gaither Music Group/Farmhouse Recordings) re-released in 2017. After gaining attention as finalists on CMT’s “Can You Duet” in 2008, Joey+Rory went on to release eight albums, winning a GRAMMY® Award for Best Roots Gospel Album for Hymns(Gaither Music Group/Farmhouse Recordings) in 2017.“I know how amazing this life that God has given us is, even though it’s taken some tragic turns,” Feek says in the DVD. “I mostly walk around pinching myself. That’s saying a lot, but it’s because I didn’t do it. She didn’t do it. He did it. And as much as there have been some very, very hard times the joy-filled times outweigh them. You carry them around with you, and for some reason they put some perspective to the pain, and it helps.”The Singer And The Song: The Best of Joey+Rory CD and DVD will be featured as a TV special airing on over 15 networks weekly, including RFD-TV, DIRECTV, Dish TV, TBN, CTN, The Heartland Network, FamilyNet, GMTN, Guardian, Liberty, TCT, TLN and GaitherTV.  It will air in Canada on Vision TV, The Miracle Channel, Grace TV and CTS.  The products are exclusively distributed by Capitol Christian Distribution and Universal Music and are available throughout general market stores and the Christian marketplace in addition to online retailers including iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon.com, CBD.com and Gaither.com.

Joey Feek’s Solo Debut, If Not For You, Offers Insight Into Country Singer’s Life

Joey Feek’s Solo Debut, If Not For You, Offers Insight Into Country Singer’s Life

Joey Feek’s Solo Debut, If Not For You, Offers Insight Into Country Singer’s Life

Recorded in 2005, the Rory Feek-co-produced album includes memories and stories from the singer and her family
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – April 7, 2017 — Recorded in 2005 and produced by her husband, Rory Feek, and Bill McDermott, GRAMMY®-winner Joey Feek’s solo debut, If Not For You, is out today through Gaither Music Group/Farmhouse Recordings. The 12-song collection is also available in a special edition featuring a 48-page booklet of photos, memories and stories penned by Rory.

Joey Feek is widely known as one-half of country music duo Joey+Rory, who most recently won a GRAMMY® for their Hymns album in February. The couple captured the hearts of millions over the past few years as Rory chronicled their love story and Joey’s cancer battle on his blog, This Life I Live, as well as their preparation for her passing in March 2016. But there’s much more to the story: the couple met in the early 2000s, when Joey was still an aspiring country singer. They eventually fell in love, married and recorded Joey’s debut album. The collection was released independently in 2005 and was made available at the duo’s shows and on their website, years before they appeared on CMT’s “Can You Duet” and began recording as a duo. This marks the first time the album will be widely available.

Joey Feek’s Solo Debut, If Not For You, To Be Released

Joey Feek

“When this album was recorded in 2005, Joey and I were still newlyweds, or at least we felt like we were. Though we had hopes for the record at the time, it wasn’t meant to be, and so this collection of music set quietly on a shelf for the last ten years or so, waiting for the right time to come along, when maybe somehow, someone would care. A time like now,” Rory said. “It is one of the great joys of my life to dust these songs off and bring life to them again. Not just the songs, but also the stories and the life of the special woman that these songs represent.”

The songs on If Not For You and the lyrics speak volumes about the woman whose life touched the hearts of millions. As Rory explains in the booklet, the album is filled with songs that showcase the things that were most important to Joey. Starting with “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You,” the song that brought Joey and Rory together, the album begins with a cameo from Joey’s mother and father and closes with Joey and Rory’s oldest daughter, Heidi, singing harmony on “Old Paint,” which Roughstock featured earlier this week. Rolling Stone Country premiered “Nothing To Remember,” the first song Joey and Rory wrote together in an early songwriting session in 2001, telling the story of a couple only able to be together in the short-term but thankful for the fleeting time they had. Originally called Strong Enough to Cry in 2005, the former title track, which premiered with The Boot, expresses Joey and Rory’s views on how to make it through difficult times. Also making an appearance on the album is the original recording of “That’s Important to Me,” which would later be a charting single for Joey+Rory; “See You There,” a tribute to her late brother, Justin, that premiered with Yahoo Music; and “Southern Girl,” focusing on Joey’s love for the South, which premiered with Taste of Country.

Country Music Couple Joey+Rory Honored with 2017 GRAMMY® Award

Country Music Couple Joey+Rory

“This recording is, of course, a significant one for us,” said Paul Sizelove, vice president of Gaither Music Group. “I grew up in the same hometown with Joey and watched she and her family love each other and the people along their paths. We all watched her move to Nashville to pursue her dreams. Things seemed to come full circle when, years later, our label was able to join hands with Joey and Rory along their recording journey. What a blessing it has been to be a part of their inspiring story. It is an honor to release this recording that captures so much of her heart and heritage and represents a dream of hers coming true.”

After gaining attention as finalists on CMT’s “Can You Duet” in 2008, Joey+Rory went on to release eight albums, winning a GRAMMY® Award for Best Roots Gospel Album for Hymns (Gaither Music Group/Farmhouse Recordings) in February. Recorded in hotel rooms as Joey received treatment, the album features songs of faith and was released in February 2016, a month before Joey passed away at age 40.

If Not For You is exclusively distributed by Capitol Christian Distribution and Universal Music. It will be available throughout general market stores and the Christian marketplace and through online retailers including iTunes, Amazon, Target, Walmart.com, crackerbarrel.com and gaither.com. The recording will also be available at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store®.

Joey Martin Feek: Funeral Arrangements

Written by Staff on March 5, 2016 – 6:51 am -

Joey and Rory

Joey and Rory

Joey Martin Feek, age 40, went home to meet her Savior Friday, March 4th, 2016, around 2:30pm, in her native hometown of Alexandria, IN.  A current resident of Pottsville, TN, with her husband, Rory, Joey was surrounded by family and close friends at the time of her passing.

Joey had been fighting Stage IV cancer for nine months, surrounded by the love and support of countless family members, friends, loved ones, longtime followers of her music and even strangers who were inspired by her life.

Joey was known for her beautiful voice, beautiful smile and beautiful marriage partnership with Rory Feek.  Together they shared a life built around a love of faith, family, farming and country music.  Their stories, which ranged from growing vegetables to their blossoming as a country music duo, have impacted countless people through television, radio and performances.  While grateful for numerous accolades and countless career dreams that came true, Joey found the real meaning and joys of life to be one of love for her GOD, love for her home and family, love for planting and growing and love for sharing with everyone she knew.  Her roles as wife and mother are often heralded beyond her celebrity successes.

There will be a private funeral service.  Joey is survived by her adoring husband, Rory; their three children, Heidi, Hopie and Indiana; her mother and father and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be sent to: Joey and Indy at PO Box 5471 Vancouver, WA 98668.  Joey and Rory’s journey of love and some of the stories of the past few months can be found at Rory’s blog: www.thislifeilive.com

Joey Feek’s Dream Comes True / Heaven

Joey Feek Dream Comes True / Heaven

Joey Feek Dream Comes True / Heaven

My wife’s greatest dream came true today.  She is in Heaven.

The cancer is gone, the pain has ceased and all her tears are dry.  Joey is in the arms of her beloved brother Justin and using her pretty voice to sing for her savior.

At 2:30 this afternoon, as we were gathered around her, holding hands and praying.. my precious bride breathed her last.  And a moment later took her first breath on the other side.

As I held her hand and kissed her goodbye one last time… I was reminded of another dream of hers that came true.  A few months ago through gracious help of Kathy Olen, a friend of ours in Nashville, and many others… I had been sent a short video that Dolly Parton had made for Joey.

From the time she was four years old, Joey had been singing Dolly’s songs and dreamed of one day meeting her.  Coat of Many Colors was a regular part of our show and at home she loved to put on Dolly and listen to “Hello God”, “When I Sing For Him”, “Me and Little Andy” and many others.  She never got the chance to meet her in person and had no idea that Dolly even knew who she was.  But that changed one Friday evening this past November.

Santa visits Joey and Rory

Santa-Visit-night-14-e1450496295236

Santa visits Joey and Rory.

From Rory’s Blog:

When the presents were opened and his work was through, Santa found a spot next to Joey and made himself at home – just like an old friend.  He said he knew our music (I had no idea Santa was a country music fan) and was a little nervous about coming to see us this evening – not knowing what to expect – or if Joey would be up for their visit.   But I think once he saw my bride sitting on the couch and smiling when he came in, and enjoying the evening… he settled in and hopefully had as good a time as we did.

He and Joey and I talked together for a long, long time.

Continue to pray for this precious family.

From Tyler’s Facebook :

I have never had a chance to meet Joey, but I can only imagine how she must feel. I wrote “Joey’s Song”  to give hope to her family. I wanted to let them know that she will never leave them no matter what. I am from Mobile, Al. I moved to Nashville in 2014.  The song is available on ITunes.  100 % of the proceeds from the song will go to Joey’s choice of charities. Please help me share this everywhere and let’s show Joey how much she is loved!

Joey and Rory

If you are one of the many following Joey and Rory’s story, you will not want to miss the recent update on Rory’s blog.

Rory writes:

This past Friday was a gift.  Not just because the sun was out and shining bright and the Indiana winter-weather seemed far away (although that was wonderful too), but because that afternoon, Joey decided to get out of bed and take a little stroll.

These two have touched many hearts by sharing their story of love, faith, and courage.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:7-8

Joey and Rory

Flashback Friday

In 2008, Joey and Rory finished third place in Season One of the American Reality Show Competition, Can you Duet On CMT. The show was produced by FremantleMedia, the same company that produces American Idol. This Flashback Friday moment was when America fell in love with this young couple.

Please continue to pray for them as they face Joey’s battle with terminal cancer. They have both shown true courage and amazing faith during this time. They have inspired us all by their measurements of true and everlasting love for God and each other.
