Vernon Alabama’s Gospel Music Weekend- “Spotlight Artist”- Eagle’s Wings

Eagle’s Wings Returns To Southern Gospel Weekend 2018
Eagle’s Wings

Meet the Spotlight Artist of the Week for Vernon, Alabama’s Gospel Music Weekend.

Eagle’s Wings is a Bluegrass/Southern Gospel band that hails from Jasper, Alabama. The group consists of members DarryleWilson, Debra Wilson, Matthew Wilson, Kevin Chambers, and Jacob Patterson.

Originally conceived as an acoustic, Southern Gospel band with the intention of doing standard Southern Gospel songs with an acoustic flair, they soon added a banjo to the mix and from then on, they were considered a Bluegrass group.

The band first performed in 2008 under a different name which they soon changed to Eagle’s Wings, based off of Debra Wilson’s life verse, found in Isaiah 40:31

Soon, after forming, they decided they didn’t want to only do covers of songs, and the band began to write and perform their own songs.

Career highlights include winning a showcase at NQC and getting to perform on mainstage as well as getting to open for some of their favorite groups like, The Isaacs and Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver.

They’ve recently had their first #1 song in the Singing News Bluegrass Charts with their version of “King Jesus”,  promoted by Hey Y’all Media.

“Our main goal is to see souls saved, and spirits lifted, but also to see toes tapping and hands clapping”, states Matt Wilson of the group.

Here is a poster with a complete lineup of Artists for the event.
