Palmetto State Quartet To Accompany The Judds on “The Last Encore” Tour

Brentwood, TN (Mansion Entertainment) November 22nd, 2010 – Palmetto State Quartet will accompany The Judds during their “The Last Encore” tour kicking off November 26th in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The roots of Country Music can be traced back to the church and many Country artists still reflect their ties to Gospel Music by incorporating traditional songs in their recordings and performances. Such will be the case with The Judds during their “The Last Encore” tour.  Palmetto State will back up The Judds and lend their blended harmonies to such classics as “How Great Thou Art”, exposing a demographic beyond the Southern Gospel market to the message of the Gospel through music.

The Judds, reaching unprecedented success throughout the 80’s and 90’s, sold 20 million records, scored fifteen #1 hits and received over sixty industry awards, including six Grammy’s and seven consecutive CMA Vocal Group of the Year awards and the ACM’s Top Vocal Duet award. Since initially leaving the stage, Naomi Judd, half of the mother/daughter duo, has been a best-selling author, keynote speaker and continues humanitarian efforts including St. Jude Children’s Hospital, River Cities Harvest, the Saint Louis University Liver Center, M.A.D.D., Parents Television Council, Make-A-Difference Day, Women’s World Peace Initiative, the National Domestic Violence Hotline, and created her own July 4th Judd’s Annual Food Drive to benefit families of Appalachia.

Palmetto State Quartet has been an integral part of providing a contributing legacy to Southern Gospel Music for almost 70 years. They continue to expound on that legacy among traditional Southern Gospel fans and introduce new listeners to a genre of music that recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. Their new radio single, “Don’t That Sound Like Heaven”, has just arrived at Southern Gospel radio stations (Mansion Radio Hits Volume 2) and a new project will be available in stores in 2011 entitled, “Grace”.
