Dahlonega, GA – The Gold City – In the early 1800’s gold was found in this town and as a result there was a gold rush to the North Georgia Town and it obtained the name Gold City. In the 1840’s the gold had played out but around 1980 a gospel singing group appeared that is known today as GOLD CITY QUARTET. Tim Riley was bass singer of the group and they re-located to Gadsden, AL their home town. In 1981 the group appeared on the main stage of the National Quartet Convention and became a top group in the industry. They have recorded at least ten number one songs and won numerous awards. Tim Riley has made his way into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Tim’s son Daniel Riley now manages the group. Members consist of Daniel, Chris West, Thomas Nalley, Chip Pullen and Bryan Elliott. GOLD CITY QUARTET will be part of the Heritage of Gold Reunion appearing June 11, 6:00 pm at Shiloh Hills Baptist Church, 75 Hawkins Store Road, Kennesaw, GA. Along with Gold City will be former members Steve Ladd, Jonathan Allen Wilburn and Mike LeFevre along with their groups. Hope everyone will plan on being there. For tickets call Robert York 770-617-0359.

NASHVILLE, TN- November 16, 2010-  Ann Downing Ministries gratefully announces not one, not two, but three singles released on the Heritage Gold 2010 volume 5 compilation from Heritage Communications!
Released by Vine Records and with the production genius of Kevin Ward and Wayne Haun, “‘YULETIDE’ was one of my most memorable and enjoyable recording experiences.” Ann said of her first and only Christmas recording to date.  “I wanted to capture the fun and thrill of the season while at the same time being careful to place the emphasis where it belongs.  Jesus came to Earth; that’s why we celebrate Christmas!” she added.  The recognizable Christmas classic “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” and one of the season’s favorite carols, “The First Noel” are available for radio play on Heritage Communication’s latest compilation.
Also available from Ann Downing on this latest compilation is the song she intros in concert as “the new song that sounds old.”  From her 2009 “Traveling Light” project, co-written with Daryl Williams, is the singing convention style “The Earth Is Full Of The Glory Of The Lord”.
