Doug Anderson Celebrates The Release of DRIVE
Written by SGN Scoops on January 22, 2014 – 3:02 pm -
chose to “Drive” over snowy roads for an evening featuring the warm voice and memorable songs they’d been waiting to hear.
Records; the event was attended by an enthusiastic hometown Hoosier crowd, faithful fans, and music industry friends from Nashville. The 2012 “Male Vocalist of the Year” (Absolutely Gospel Awards) and radio favorite (three Top 40 radio singles) had to fight canceled flights just to make it back in time for the big night from Hershey, Pennsylvania, where he had been the featured artist for the annual Christian Products Expo. According to Kirk Blank, president of Munce Group and MTL media, “Doug’s performance generated waves of thundering applause, and his ability to weave a story between songs endeared him to the packed crowd of independent retailers.”
Anderson has gained new fans as a country music solo artist, and Tuesday night
he proved again that he is at home in either setting. The high-energy baritone,
along with a live band, kept the crowd happy all night long with a variety of new and
classic songs, including the progressive title song “Drive,” a memorable remake of the Dolly Parton favorite “The Seeker,” the heartfelt “Moment by Moment Grace,” and the contagious first radio single from the project, “Love with Open Arms.” A few highlights from the evening are available athttp://youtu.be/pKzBKmD-rNY and http://youtu.be/nb7RbZkf3QY
21, 2014; after that initial offering, fans will be able to purchase the CD online, in addition to the brick-and-mortar stores. Follow Doug Anderson on Twitter and Facebook for updates on his solo concerts, as well as his tour schedule with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound.

Wayne Haun orchestrates for Celine Dion’s latest release
Written by SGN Scoops on November 6, 2013 – 12:50 pm -NASHVILLE, TN (November 7, 2013) – Add Celine Dion’s name to an ever-growing list of artists who call on Wayne Haun for his arranging expertise.
iTunes acknowledges that Celine Dion became a bestselling artist based on her “emotional, lushly orchestrated pop ballads,” so even the low-key Haun will admit that orchestrating two songs on her newly-released recording, “Loved Me Back to Life,” is an accomplishment for which he is grateful.
Jessica Simpson, Rayburn, J. Mark McVey, and Earl Scruggs are just a sampling of other
mainstream artists who have hired Haun, but in typical fashion, he shows appreciation for those who have opened the door to make such opportunities possible. “I really need to thank producers Tricky Stewart and especially Aaron Pearce for asking me to play a small role in their stellar production. Aaron has always been a great collaborator and friend.”
In an already gratifying year, the 4-time Grammy nominee and 3-time BMI Music
Award winner recently garnered attention as he released his debut jazz vocal recording through StowTown Records and Provident/Sony Distribution. With fresh interpretations of timeless love songs and classic Broadway tunes, Wayne Haun’s “Old Soul” CD took the number one spot on the iTunes Jazz chart for two days — a chart that included Harry Connick, Jr., and Dave Koz. In all, the project remained in the iTunes Jazz Top 10 for a full week.
Haun also continues to be thankful for the support of the GMA/Dove Award voters, as
2013 added 4 more honors to his total. This year, his name was called for both producing (Jason Crabb’s “Inspirational Album of the Year” and “Southern Gospel Performance of the Year”) and songwriting (“Bluegrass Recorded Song” and “Country Recorded Song”).
As co-founder and co-owner of StowTown Records, Vine Records, and Sunset Gallery
Music, the East Tennessee native continues to write and arrange as a staff songwriter for Lillenas, while touring full-time as the musical director for Ernie Haase and Signature Sound.

The Perrys Sign Exclusive Agreement with StowTown Records
Written by SGN Scoops on October 31, 2013 – 12:20 pm -ASHVILLE, TN (October 28, 2013) – StowTown Records is honored to announce the exclusive signing of The Perrys — undisputedly one of the leading names in Southern Gospel music — to its growing family of artists.
Inked during a celebration at the offices of Provident/Sony Distribution, this new partnership — between the legendary Perrys and StowTown founders Ernie Haase and Wayne Haun — is a natural outgrowth of the mutual respect, friendship and admiration built throughout the years they’ve shared stages across the country. Haase is quick to explain his excitement about the signing: “I have known Libbi and Tracy for about 20 years now. They are my favorite kind of people — humble and full of the love of Jesus. It is my honor to finally get to work with them. I believe the best is yet to come!”
One of the most-awarded groups in Southern Gospel music during their storied 41-year career, The Perrys’ roster currently includes Libbi Perry Stuffle — the unforgettable alto who carries on the family legacy, her husband and beloved bass singer Tracy Stuffle, their son Jared (JK) Stuffle — assisting on bass vocals, lead singer David Ragan, and baritone Bryan Walker.
2013 has been a challenging year for The Perrys, with the ongoing recovery of Tracy Stuffle after his initial stroke in January. However, Tracy’s recent return to selected dates and featured songs with the group serves as a picture of grace and hope to the prayer warriors who have joined The Perrys on this journey of faith. Tracy — who signed the contract himself — is clearly grateful: “Lib and I, along with our guys, Bryan, David, and JK, are so excited about our joint venture with StowTown Records and Provident/Sony Distribution. We look forward to many years of a lasting relationship with both companies. We have always had a wonderful relationship with our long-time producer Wayne Haun, and are excited that this new chapter will still include him. We are very much looking forward to what the Lord and the future is gonna hold for The Perrys.”
Their new project is expected to release in March 2014, so fans should follow The Perrys on social media for updates on the recording process, as well as upcoming concerts, events, and Tracy’s recovery. Libbi’s heartfelt updates and prayer postings on Facebook have also become a must-read for both new and long-time fans of the group.
