Nashville, TN (July 23, 2015) Back Home (Jimmy and Jennifer Layne), from South Pittsburg, TN are debuting their 3rd concept video called “Empty Pews” today with SGN Scoops. The song “Empty Pews” is a very important song for those in ministry and the church. The video focuses on the pastoral role. In the video, you will see a pastor pouring out his heart in a sermon only to discover he’s doing so to an empty church because he doesn’t feel he can do so with his congregation. The idea for the song came after Jennifer read multiple stories of pastors leaving the ministry, becoming atheist, committing suicide, etc and wanted to do something to bring attention to the matter in a loving way. She brought the idea to a writing session with Mark Narmore and Kenna Turner West and the three wrote this song.
Back Home was joined by Dr. Tim Hill, Director of Missions for the Church of God and Scott Fowler of Legacy Five on the video that was filmed at the North Cleveland Church of God/Dixon Chapel in Cleveland, TN.
Scott Fowler expresses, “My dad was a bi-vocational pastor. I am very excited because I know this song and video will encourage pastors.” Scott is also a featured guest vocalist on the duos newest CD.
Dr Tim Hill shares, “The first time I heard the song “Empty Pews” I knew that Jennifer Layne, Kenna Turner-West, and Mark Narmore had captured the heart of so many pastors in the United States of America and around the world, There’s something here that speaks about the need to follow God and your calling; the drive to please so many people; and, yet, the disappointment when you’re not able to. I hope that everybody who hears to this song and watches this video will be attentive to the lyrics but, more importantly, that they will listen carefully for the healing that flows through the lyrics in “Empty Pews.””
“We have had multiple TV Networks already asking for the video for their programming. Â We are thankful that Rob Patz is debuting this on his GREAT site, SGN Scoops.’ (Jimmy Layne, Back Home) Â Additional information on Back Home can be obtained from the Adoration Agency’s Sophia Davis at 1-615-590-7453 or email@example.com.
