Johnson City, TN – Following three wonderful years at the Scotia Bank Convention Centre in the picturesque Niagara Falls, Ontario, IMC Concerts has announced plans to move the event in 2016 to Central Ontario to the beautiful city of Markham and the brand new Global Kingdom Ministries facility.
Perfectly situated just 20 miles from downtown, Toronto, Markham lies just across Lake Ontario from Niagara Falls, which has served as the host city for Praisefest for the past three years. “We are very excited about this move,” states IMC Concerts President, Landon Beene. “There are a variety of reason for the move, but the greatest and most important reason is for the convenience of the fans who attend the event. The new facility is larger, which will allow us to increase seating, and the seating will be much more comfortable for attendees. The facility offers 1500 large, cushioned, theatre-style seats, as well as state-of-the-art staging and production. We think attendees of Praisefest Niagara will be very pleased with the move.”
According to Beene, the move will appeal greatly to Southern Gospel music lovers from northern Ontario, making the commute very convenient for those who live in the northern portion of the province. Located just off Ontario Hwy 407, Markham makes for an easy commute for those driving in from southern and western Ontario, as well as upstate New York. Those choosing to fly in have easy accessibility from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Moving Praisefest Niagara from the heavy tourist area of Niagara Falls to the city of Markham will also provide attendees with huge savings on lodging and food. “With any tourist area, like Niagara Falls,” Beene states, “there are financial challenges in trying to find affordable lodging. Additionally, the cost of food can be extremely high, and we realize that this makes an impact on event attendees. In Niagara, attendees also incurred parking fees, and we have been able to eliminate parking fees at the Global Kingdom Ministries facility. So we are very excited about the savings we believe long-time attendees will find with the move to Markham.”
The 2016 Praisefest Niagara will take place May 19, 20 & 21 and will include performances by such popular recording artists as Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Greater Vision, Triumphant Quartet, Legacy Five, Gordon Mote, The Erwins, Taranda Greene and many others. The event will also include wonderful showcases like the Gospel Music Hymn Sing, the Best of Ontario, as well as the only Ontario appearance of the Cathedrals Family Reunion.
Accommodations have also been made for regular attendees who have already renewed their annual seating, as these individuals will be given comparable seating at the new facility. “Our representatives at IMC Concerts will be reaching out to those individuals,” Beene explains “to insure that they are satisfied with the comparable seating. We will do everything possible to make this transition a smooth one. Additionally, we have transferred the reservation process to iTickets.com, allowing attendees to purchase their seating in Canadian currency to help save money with the conversion rate. We are confident that all the changes we are making will prove to be of great benefit and allow this wonderful event to continue to grow by leaps and bounds.”
Merging many of the most popular Southern Gospel recording artists from the US with some of the finest singers Ontario has to offer has made Praisefest Niagara eastern Canada’s most exciting Southern Gospel event. Make plans now to be a part of the 2016 event. Tickets go on sale October 5, and complete information regarding Praisefest Niagara 2016 is available at www.imcconcerts.com.
