Fox News’ Todd Starnes To Appear at NQC

Todd Starnes, Journalist, Will Tape Show, Starnes Country, to Feature Gospel Music’s Largest Annual Event

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (August 26, 2019) – NQC (the National Quartet Convention) has announced that Todd Starnes, celebrated Fox News journalist, will appear during the 2019 National Quartet Convention. Todd will speak during the NQC Chapel service on Friday, September 27, 2019, at 10:00 AM.

Additionally, Starnes will be covering the NQC on his signature show Starnes Country, which is on Fox Nation.

Starnes Country is a news magazine-style program where Todd travels the heartland, providing commentary on the political and cultural issues of the day with his signature southern humor and conservative style.

NQC will be featured during one of the upcoming episodes of the new show. Air dates and times will be announced at a later date.

NQC – the National Quartet Convention – was founded in 1957 by gospel music legend and former backup vocalist for Elvis Presley, J.D. Sumner who co-produced the event with James Blackwood. The annual convention was moved in later years to Nashville, TN and then to Louisville, KY where it was held for 20 years.

The 2019 NQC will be held in Pigeon Forge, TN at the LeConte Center from Sunday, September 22, 2019 – Saturday, September 28, 2019.

Nashville, TN (August 29, 2017) The Williamsons recently finished up an East coast tour that took them to New Jersey and Pennsylvania. During their trip they had a few days off between concert appearances. The award- winning group spent time sightseeing in New York City. While in NYC they visited Time Square, the 9/11 Memorial, Chinatown, Little Italy and more. But, the highlight of their time in the Big Apple was getting to be the guest at Fox News.

At the National Quartet Convention in 2016, Darin Hebert formed a friendship with Fox News anchor Kelly Wright. Known primarily for his time on Fox News, Kelly Wright is also a Gospel singer and minister. Darin told Kelly they were in NYC and Kelly said, “I work Monday night. Come on over and I’ll show you around!” Kelly showed them around the Fox News campus, including various broadcast studios. “We were able to meet a few news contributors and Jesse Waters waved to us as he was running to do “The Five,” stated Donnie Williamson.

Kelly Wright’s alma mater is Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Ok, the home state of the Williamsons. “Kelly mentioned how he’d like to return to Oklahoma to minister. That was all it took and we are now planning a Williamsons/Kelly Wright week in the Sooner State – hopefully in the spring of 2018. Secular Media Embracing 2011 National Quartet Convention – Annual Event Continues Through Saturday

Louisville, KY – The National Quartet Convention, which originally began in 1957 in Memphis, TN, has grown to become Christian music’s largest annual event. The seven-night musical extravaganza, taking place this week in Louisville, KY, has captured the attention of both local and national media.  The Grammy-nominated recording artist, Triumphant Quartet, was featured on Tuesday afternoon, as the Quartet represented the NQC on the popular Terry Meiners program, which airs on WHAS Radio.

On Wednesday morning, Dollywood Theme Park’s host quartet, The Kingdom Heirs were featured on Great Day Live, which airs on WHAS Channel 11, Louisville’s ABC affiliate. The quartet shared their smooth vocal stylings with listeners of the program and were interviewed by the show’s co-hosts, Terry Meiners and Rachel Platt (pictured in attached jpg with The Kingdom Heirs).

Fox News reporter, Kelly Wright was on hand at this week’s Convention, enjoying the sights and sounds, as well as interviewing featured performers and speakers, including former Attorney General John Ashcroft, who was a part of Wednesday night and Thursday morning’s programs. Wright also made a guest appearance on Tuesday evening’s line-up and delighted attendees with his energy and excitement, exceptional vocal ability and inspiring message.
