Weekend Word- Live Like Daniel

Weekend Word
“To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds…In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.”
Daniel 1: 17, 2
How can you live in faith while respecting a society that wants nothing to do with God? Remember Daniel went from Hebrew captive to an influential advisor to kings in both the Babylonian (modern day Iraq) and later Persian (modern day Iran) empires. God used the life of Daniel to demonstrate how we too can live a life of influence and faith, even when worlds views clash.
How can we live a faithful life in a world walking further away from Biblical beliefs and values? (Straight From The Heart Ministries)

Midnight Jamboree: Les Butler and Jimmy Fortune
“Although I’m mostly known as a Southern gospel guy, my Bluegrass roots run deep; very deep,” says Butler. “I grew up on Flatt and Scruggs, Live from Carnegie Hall. Earl was the first to show me his three-finger banjo roll. I’ve played and toured with Dailey and Vincent. I’ve been blessed to host a national award-winning syndicated Bluegrass Gospel show for over 20 years. Yes, I guess it’s safe to say that in addition to being a Southern Gospel guy, I am also a Bluegrass guy.”

Les Butler at TNN
“We are thrilled to have Les Butler come on board SGNScoops,” says Patz. “Les and I have known each other for some time, and I’ve wanted to add his exceptional talent to the magazine for awhile. We both feel the time is now right for him to share this part of his life with us.”

Les Butler Interviewing Marty Raybon
Butler continues, “I’m pleased to announce that I will be writing a monthly Bluegrass gospel column, ‘Les Butler and Friends,’ for my friend Rob Patz starting in the January issue of SGNScoops Magazine. I think you’re going to enjoy getting to know some of my Bluegrass buddies!”

The Year Of Jubilee: A Conversation with Lily Isaacs of the Isaacs

The Isaacs Release Nature’s Symphony in 432
By Justin Gilmore
The Isaacs have been a mainstay in Gospel and Bluegrass music for years. This acclaimed family has captivated audiences with their harmony and musicianship. Most importantly their hearts for God are truly apparent. I recently had the pleasure to talk with matriarch Lily Isaacs about the group’s career and their recent Grammy-nominated album, Nature’s Symphony in 432: A Journey from Pain to Praise.
Gilmore: Tell me about the formation of the group, the early days.
Isaacs: Well, the Isaacs started with myself and my kids’ father Joe Isaacs, who’s my ex-husband. We started singing in 1971 after we got saved. We had a

band at the time and we performed just on weekends because we had full time jobs. And as time went on and we got busier, we went into full time ministry in 1986.
As our children were teenagers, they showed a lot more interest in music and so as one band member would leave, the kids would take their place. Sonya was the first one, taking up the position of the mandolin and then Ben went on bass, and then Becky went to the guitar. So it wasn’t really a plan, it just happened that way. So today we are an all-family band and we also have a drummer and my grandson Levi, who now plays guitar for us as well.
