Martins headline Relief Concert planned for Jackson County, Alabama
Written by Staff on February 6, 2020 – 2:48 pm -#JacksonCountyStrong
Scottsboro, AL (Feb. 5, 2020) — On January 27, a deadly boat fire engulfed Jackson County Park Marina dock. A lot of the boats were recreational, but several families made some of the boats tied to a long wooden dock their home. The fire started on the end closest to land, which made the blaze on the inland side of the dock, blocking the only exit to safety. Residents were forced to flee in boats or jump in the water and swim from danger. Several people were rescued from the water and treated for minor injuries and hypothermia, but eight people died—six from the same family.

In less than 20 minutes the dock was an inferno. 35 boats, houseboats, and pontoons burned and were completely destroyed. A tight-knit community was changed forever.
The Jackson County Coroner identified the eight victims as: Grace Annette Watson Miles (40), Christopher Zane Long (19), Bryli Long (16), Traydon Miles (10), Kesson Miles (9), Dezli Miles (7), Amanda Foster (39), and Yancy Roper (59).

The Church has always been and always will be the hands and feet of Jesus in times like these. Once again, the Body of Christ rises to help the community of this recent tragedy come together and begin the healing process.

New Ground #JacksonCountyStrong
Scottsboro is the hometown of New Ground, Interstate Quartet, and comic Mickey Bell. These seasoned artists knew God was calling them to put feet to their faith. Interstate Quartet contacted New Ground and set into motion plans for a relief concert.
Robbie Maxwell of New Ground shared, “The Utechs (Interstate Quartet) had previously lived on the dock with the ones who were killed. They had just recently sold their boat and moved. So, this was especially close to their hearts.”

Comedian Mickey Bell contacted his good friends, The Martins, to see if they would be interested in helping. The Grammy-nominated group was on board immediately and never hesitated to show their support. After a few more phone calls the date, place, and time was set.

Favorite Christmas Memory
My mind takes me back to when my siblings and I got an Atari. At the time, this was the best present ever. Back then, when you bought the atari console, you also got the Pac-Man game fro free. Well, we were very excited to open up this gift from Santa and to be able to play it. There was just one problem.

Local Comedian Appears on The Huckabee Show

Comedian Mickey Bell performing on the Huckabee Show
Every 28 seconds, someone in America is attempting suicide. It is also the second leading cause of death for people ages 15 to 24. And we are now entering into a holiday season when it seems to be the most prominent time for those dealing with depression to have more bad days than they have good days.

Mickey Bell knows full well what depression feels like. His experience with the illness came to the forefront after being dismissed as pastor of a baptist church in Alabama. It was his sinful decisions that caused the fallout and led to a series of events that would change his life forever.

Mickey Bell
“Reverse the Course of Depression,” is the latest book by Mickey and is set to be released nationally on December 23rd. It’s a book that not only addresses issues that others don’t want to really talk about but Bell also shares with you how he deals with the symptoms that come with the illness.

Hey Pastor Mickey Bell, What is The Message?
Written by scoopsnews on January 1, 2019 – 8:03 am -
We all have just been handed something very special, a “brand, spanking-new” New Year. What we do with it is really up to us.
We asked a few pastors what they believe the message for 2019 is.
Here is what Pastor Mickey Bell, Pastor at Grace Church in Bessemer, Alabama had to say.
2019 is the year for expansion. God is getting ready to expand territories, ministries and opportunities. But to reach for the new, we have to be willing to let go of the old. We pray for elevation but aren’t willing to walk away from what has become comfortable. God is wanting to show his children that we are believing for too small when we have a Heavenly Father who owns it all.
Thanks Mickey for sharing with SGN Scoops! Happy New Year
