2020 Diamond Award Nominations Open Today

Pigeon Forge, Tenn. – Coastal Media Group and SGNScoops Magazine are pleased to announce that the 2020 Diamond Award Nominations will open on the SGNScoops website Vote Here. Everyone is invited to the website to enter the Nominations area and list their ten favorite picks for each Diamond Award category.

SGNScoops, host of the Diamond Awards, is presenting the 2020 Diamond Awards on October 27, 2020, during the 9th Annual Creekside Gospel Music Convention in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Many vocal performances and surprise guests will be included in the gala evening. Fans are encouraged to make their plans to attend today.

The Diamond Awards are completely voter-driven VOTE HERE, starting with nominations, from which the Top Ten lists are calculated, allowing voters to select their three favorites in each category. That will bring us to the Top Five lists, allowing voters to select their three choices to bring us the winner of the 2020 Diamond Award in each category.

Today we look at several more categories, all under the heading of “Sunrise,” which can be awarded to any new or developing full-time artist who has seen major growth in their career, as evidenced in airplay or personal appearances during the past year. Nominees in this category must have released their debut single only two years prior to the eligibility date of January 1, 2020. This award is also a once-in-a-lifetime honor and can be given to any artist in the Southern,

Country or Bluegrass Christian music genres. These categories include the Sunrise Award (any artists), Sunrise Duet of the Year, Trio of the Year, and Quartet of the Year. Some past winners have included: Jessica Horton, Chronicle, Day 3, Justified Quartet, Jordan Family Band, Old Time Preachers Quartet, the Chandlers, Morgan Easter, 11th Hour, and others.

The Diamond Awards also celebrate Christian Country artists with Christian Country Group of the Year and Song of the Year. The nominees must be full-time Christian Country artists. Some past winners have included:

Road to the 2020 Diamond Awards

We are thrilled to announce the opening of the nominations for the 2020 Diamond Awards on Monday, February 3. Anyone, anywhere, can vote on their favorite gospel music artists. The Diamond Awards will be presented on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 during the Creekside Gospel Music Convention held at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Oct. 25 – 30, 2020.

What are the Diamond Awards?

The prestigious Diamond Awards have a history of almost 30 years, recognizing the best in Gospel Music from coast to coast. The Awards began in 1991, hosted by Allen Smith and the Gospel Voice Magazine. Today, that same publication is known as SGN Scoops Digital Magazine, and both SGNScoops and the Diamond Awards are owned by Coastal Media Group and Rob Patz.

J.D. SUMNER LIVING LEGEND AWARD
This is a once-in-a-lifetime honor to recognize the living performer whom the fans feel has made the greatest contribution to Southern Gospel  music over a career spanning 25 years or more. Previous winners are not eligible to be nominated. Anyone from artists to industry professionals

Creekside 2019 Begins with a Bang, Convention runs until Oct. 31

Pine Ridge Boys at Creekside Kick Off

Creekside Gospel Music Convention 2019 has begun in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The kick-off concert on Sunday night, Oct. 27, was well attended and a great experience for those in attendance. An attentive crowd became a part of the first Creekside Live DVD, as the Pine Ridge Boys hosted a boisterous concert to celebrate the event. The Chordsmen Quartet also appeared at this concert as part of the Classic Artists Music Group. The taping was held at the Mill Creek auditorium, a satellite venue for Creekside.

The main site for Creekside is the Smoky Mountain Convention Center, where the convention was in full swing on Monday, Oct. 28. Morning events featured the Pine Ridge Boys Breakfast, artist load-in, and the Nashville Heartsong Showcase. In the afternoon, some attendees took part in the Radio Promotions Seminar with Richard Hyssong, Tiffany Noecker, Vonda Armstrong. Joy

Holden began the inaugural Singing on the Square in front of the Smoky Mountain Convention Center, where a lovely dinner was whipped up and served free to the first 100 fans.

The evening concert at the Smoky Mountain center began at 5:00 p.m., featuring the Down East Boys, Hyssongs, The Bibletones, and guest preacher, Pastor Bill Bailey. The Dr. Jerry Goff Honors highlighted the career of Troy Burns. Midnight prayer was hosted by Tim and Missy Kinchen in the lobby of the Ramada Inn.

The 2019 Diamond Award Top 10 voting is nearing completion. Vote HERE The journey for this year began in February with the call for nominees for each Southern, Country, and Bluegrass gospel category. Those nominees were compiled to create the top 10 and voters have been streaming toward the site to make their preferences known. Creekside 2019 welcomes the Hyssongs

Pigeon Forge, Tenn. — Creekside Gospel Music Convention is pleased to welcome back the Hyssongs to their 2019 lineup. This annual event features over 50 gospel music artists with Southern, Bluegrass, and Country styles all represented. The Hyssongs return to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, during the Convention dates of Oct. 27 – 31, at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.

Down East Boys to appear at Creekside 2019

Pigeon Forge, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2018) — Creekside Gospel Music Convention 2019 is in the planning stages after a very successful 2018 event. Rob Patz,  director, is thrilled to announce that the Down East Boys from North Carolina will be appearing at the 2019 event, to be held from Oct. 27 – 31 in the Smoky Mountain Convention Center, Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Ricky Carden has been with the DEB for 28 years. “I am excited to be a part of Creekside 2019,” says Carden. “I have watched this event grow over the past few years and am honored to be included in the great list of artists!”
