Back Home

Back Home

The latest concept video from the group Back Home is called “Birmingham”. The song was inspired by a young waitress they met, who drives 2 hours to Birmingham every weekend because she found a church there who welcomes her and her son, after being shunned by her local church for being an unwed mother. Her story touched Back Home’s lives and they hope this video will touch yours. Song was written by Jennifer Layne of Back Home and Mark Narmore. Wilburn and Wilburn releases concept video as they also issue a 30-day challenge

Written by SGN Scoops Staff on September 2, 2014 – 4:35 pm -

Wilburn & Wilburn

Wilburn & Wilburn

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 2nd, 2014) – Dynamic vocal duo Wilburn and Wilburn have had their hands full as of late, in front of the camera and also in taking a stand.

Wilburn and Wilburn – a Daywind Records recording artist consisting of Jonathan Wilburn and his son Jordan Wilburn – have released a concept video for their song “Help Me Help Someone,” which is on Wilburn and Wilburn’s latest project, “Here Comes Sunday.” The song was a collaborative effort, penned by award-winning songwriter Jimmy Yeary, Country Music personality Cledus T. Judd and Gary LeVox, the lead vocalist of Country Music recording artist Rascal Flatts.

Wilburn and Wilburn has been singing powerful songs since they began touring in March of 2011. When “Help Me Help Someone” was released to radio, it grabbed the attention of Compassion International and filmmaker David Altizer.

“We knew we wanted people to hear the message of this song and for the audience to know that they can make a difference,” Jonathan Wilburn explains. “We want to help folks in need domestically and internationally, and we found a partner that is willing to help us achieve that goal. We challenge everyone who hears this message to evaluate whether they can help just one person today. Compassion has been gracious enough to help us with our vision and in helping us to release this music video.”

Filming for the video recently took place atop the Fifth Third building, a skyscraper in Nashville, Tenn.

“When this plan started unfolding, we wanted to have an impact with people watching the video at home and engage them enough to where they will want to take action,” Daywind Records vice president and A & R director Scott Godsey – who served as the producer of the video – shares. “There are a lot of hurting people in the world, and this song talks about the body of Christ helping those folks. The line in the song that says, ‘we can all make a difference, and it starts with me’ … it is our hope that those words will passionately speak to all of us as we count our innumerable blessings today. It was thoroughly enjoyable working with Compassion and with director David Altizer.”

In addition to Compassion assisting Wilburn and Wilburn with the creation of the video, Wilburn and Wilburn have also become Compassion representatives.

However, Wilburn and Wilburn are not stopping there. They are also issuing a 30-day challenge to both themselves and everyone around them to go above and beyond, a mission to help one person each day for 30 consecutive days. The daily “help” can be as simple as assisting an elderly person with their groceries or a commitment to sponsor a child through an organization such as Compassion International.

Wilburn and Wilburn have been long-time supporters of various charities, and with there continuing to be both foreign and domestic needs, they believe that the Lord can use us all if we simply allow him to do so. The partnership that Wilburn and Wilburn has developed with Compassion will allow their audience to have an opportunity to help children who are much less fortunate. While meeting the tangible needs of those children, Compassion also shares the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Daywind Records is home to an award-winning roster of artists, including Legacy Five, Karen Peck and New River, Tribute Quartet, the Browders and the Nelons. Daywind is distributed to retail through New Day Christian Distributors, Select-O-Hits, and all major digital outlets, including iTunes. For more information, visit  or contact Amanda Martin at

Wilburn And Wilburn Record New Concept Video

Wilburn and Wilburn

Wilburn and Wilburn

Nashville, TN (August 4, 2014) Award winning Gospel duet Wilburn and Wilburn have been in Nashville, TN lately recording a brand new concept video. The featured song for this video “Help Me” is from their latest recording ‘Here Comes Sunday‘.

Being one of the most innovative groups in Gospel music this Father and Son duo, along with Daywind Records, have slated the video for release at NQC 2014 . Unlike the huge Country hit “Help Me” by the Larry Gatlin, this cut of the same title, isn’t asking God to “help me”, but rather asking God to “help me help someone else”.

Scott Godsey of Daywind Records said “The message of this song is perfect for ministering as a concept video. Adding to the message, the location high atop the L&C Building in Nashville this video is set to touch the heart of everyone who sees it.”

Jordan Wilburn stated “This was one of the greatest experiences of my young music career! DAD asked me if I was scared of heights on our way to the video location. I had no idea what he had up his sleeve”.

Jonathan Wilburn continued saying ” As far as I can remember when traveling through Nashville , we would see the big L&C building. I never knew I would be that close to it.”

The song “Help me Help Someone” written by prolific song writer Jimmy Yeary, along with Cletus T. Judd and Gary LeVox, has already had an impact in Wilburn and Wilburn services and concerts. “Help Me” is really a prayer asking God to help us have the strength and desire to help those that are in need.

“In need of Jesus, Love, Compassion and Mercy. We are the vehicle of these things.” Jonathan states, “We hope this video will help us encourage and promote helping those that need Gods love to be real in their lives.

Channing Eleton Releases Hot New Video

Channing Eleton

Channing Eleton

Don’t miss out on Channing Eleton’s hot new video release in support of his fresh radio single “Big Top” which is on his new independent CD release, Fredericksburg. This song has been in the making for quite a few years. It gives a southern sound with Channing’s Gospel piano playing and singing causing it to be a smooth listen. The video will remind you of the old days when a big top tent and metal chairs were a sure sign of a tent revival where many miracles were expected to happen.

Eleton said “As you can see, I had a pretty vivid imagination growing up. I was fascinated with all the details of those old tents and camp-meetings I attended as a kid.” Channing continued stating “I actually began writing the song back in June of 2008. I had been invited to come play at a tent revival that was actually out ‘on the county line’ of where I live. It brought back all these great memories I remembered as a kid…the music, the preaching, playing in the sawdust, standing in line for cotton candy and ice cream… I could go on and on.”

Channing also commented “The people in the video are friends and family of mine. The Preacher, David Cummings, is a close friend to my wife and I. He actually introduced me to my wife 17 years ago, of which we’ve been married 15. This is a fun song and video that will have some reminiscing. For others, I’ll be introducing for the very first time this very unique slice of Americana.”

This magnificent video was produced and directed by Kim White of ViewFinders, Inc.

Brian Free and Assurance brings the “Say Amen” story to life

Brian Free And Assurance

Brian Free And Assurance

(Hendersonville, TN) After the success of their first concept video, Brian Free and Assurance has recently been back behind the camera again, diligently working on the release of the group’s second such effort for the increasingly-popular song “Say Amen.”

“Say Amen” was penned by Kenna West, Jason Cox and Michael Farren, and it’s the first release on the group’s latest project, “Unashamed.” The song has rapidly risen to the No. 2 position on the Singing News Magazine Top 80 Chart in just its fourth month since the song’s release. It debuted at No. 32 before rising to the ninth position in its second month and then elevating to the No. 3 spot for August.

The male quartet previously comprised an award-winning concept video for the 2012 song, “I Want To Be That Man,” which was co-written by Ricky Free and Lee Black.

“Brian Free and Assurance keeps delivering amazing songs on every project,” Daywind Records vice president and A & R director Scott Godsey – who served as the producer and director of the video – explains. “We are thankful for the opportunity to work with these guys on the ‘Say Amen’ video production. Our hope is that this video will go beyond our normal borders and branch out to new media sources. This is without a doubt one of the best songs that I’ve heard in Southern Gospel Music.”

Brian Free and Assurance is a Daywind Records recording artist, and Daywind held a contest in April that encouraged fans to send in their testimonies, telling what God had done for them to make them “Say Amen.” The winner of the contest was Jim Hutson – a Columbus, Ind., resident – who has part of his story unfold in the video.

Filming for the video took place in the Gallatin and Hendersonville areas, which are suburbs of Nashville, Tenn.

“We had an amazing time recording the new video,” points out Brian Free, the group’s manager and tenor singer. When you watch the video or hear this song, just think about all of the things God has done in your life.”

Daywind Records is home to an award-winning roster of artists, including Greater Vision, Karen Peck and New River, Legacy Five and the Nelons. Daywind is distributed to retail through New Day Christian Distributors, Select-O-Hits, and all major digital outlets, including iTunes. For more information, visit or contact Amanda Martin at

Legacy Five Debuts Anticipated “Ask Me Why” to YouTube

Written by SGN Scoops Staff on April 20, 2012 – 12:17 pm -

Nashville, TN – After weeks of waiting, fans finally get the chance to see the official music video release of Legacy Five’s “Ask Me Why.”  It is based on the true story of a woman named Patty and her daughter Hannah who converted to Christianity from Islam after accidentally showing up at a Legacy Five concert.

The video is already gaining buzz on YouTube with exponential growth in hits, comments, and shares on Facebook.  L5 celebrates the release along with cover stories in both Singing News Magazine and SGN Scoops this month.

Patty Davenport Bahhur is actually featured in the video as a woman going through hardship and finding grace.  Scott Fowler, lead singer, tells the story of how Patty stumbled upon the Celebration Event at the Grand Ole Opry with her daughter and looked to the group for answers.  When she was given the wrong tickets to an event she thought would be the Opry show, she noticed something strikingly different about the concert.  The people looked happy.

“She went on to tell me that her husband is a Muslim and that she was not accustomed to being around so many people who seemed so happy. She again said to me, ‘So you see…we’re not supposed to be here. We are here by accident. This is not the Grand Ole Opry show and I don’t understand why everyone around here is so happy. What is this music all about?’”  Said Fowler, recalling Patty’s story, “It was then I realized that this was a divine appointment, and God was giving me an incredible opportunity to tell this lady and her daughter why we were all so ‘happy.’”

The video takes place at the Franklin Historic Presbyterian Church featuring a congregation comprised of L5 fans who volunteered to be extras.  “Ask Me Why” was penned by Kenna Turner West, who made an appearance at the filming along with Jim Brady of The Booth Brothers and Les Butler of Singing News.

“L5 is great to work with,” said producer Scott Godsey of Godsey and Associates. “Throughout the filming process, I could tell that they got it.  They are the real deal.”

Band members Scott Fowler, Scott Howard, Glenn Dustin, Gus Gaches, and Trey Ivies are featured at several locations throughout Franklin and Nashville, TN.
