Southern Plainsmen Quartet Bring Southern Flavor to Louisiana IceGators Game Tonight

HORNBECK, La. – (January 21, 2011) – West-Central Louisiana’s Southern Plainsmen Quartet will be performing the National Anthem at the Louisiana IceGator’s game against the Mississippi Surge tonight, January 21, 2011.

Marcelle Slaughter said, “We are so excited about performing the National Anthem for such a great team and organization. Any time that we are given an opportunity like this, we can’t help but be excited! We love to take our brand of Southern Gospel to every area that the Lord leads us!”

The Louisiana IceGators are a part of the Southern Professional Hockey League. This organization began playing in the 2009-10 season. Like the original IceGators (1995-2005), the group is based out of Lafayette, Louisiana.

“This is a great opportunity for our group, and we’re honored that this organization asked us to be a part of it,” responded Slaughter.

The game will take place at the Gator Dome in LaFayette, Louisiana beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Southern Plainsmen recently announced their partnership with humanitarian organization World Vision.  The Southern Plainsmen Quartet are now artist advocates for the organization – spreading the word at concerts, churches, and various other dates that the quartet may perform at.
