God’s handiwork!”

Creekside Diaries v4: Eagle’s Wings, C.T. Townsend and the Browders

Creekside Diaries v4: Eagle’s Wings, C.T. Townsend and the Browders. L-R: Vonda Armstrong, Becky and C.T. Townsend
THE CREEKSIDE DIARIES, Volume Four. Wednesday, October 31, 2018. By Kristen Stanton.
The third full day at Creekside began with a chapel service in the showcase hall led by Dr. Jerry Goff followed by a time of music with the ALQC Road Revival featuring several Creekside artists who also perform at the Alabama Quartet Convention.

Scott Washam of Day Three
Scott Washam from Day Three talked about the humble beginnings of their event. “We didn’t have two pennies to rub together but we stepped out in faith.”
Washam went on to explain how the Road Revival ended up with a show at Creekside. “One day I was talking to Vonda on the phone and she said, hey you should bring the Road Revival to Creekside. I thought she was joking but here we are.”

Alabama Quartet Convention
Several artists including Day Three, Living Faith, Gloryland, and Cami Shrock, performed for a packed house.
The evening concert included some first time artists from Indiana and Florida, showing just how far reaching the Creekside arms are extending.
The Gibbs Family, in their first trip, had the crowd on their feet in worship.
Eagle’s Wings, winner of three Diamond Awards, was one of the night’s featured groups. Always a crowd favorite, the group sang some of their hit songs.

The Browders
The concert finished out with another riveting message from C.T. Townsend followed by the Browders who brought the house down.

Rob Patz, owner and director of Creekside Gospel Music Convention
Wednesday night at Creekside would not be complete without Midnight Prayer. The Chandlers led an intimate time of prayer and worship where over fifty had gathered believing they would leave this event different than they did when they walked in.
Creekside continues to change lives from night to night. We have one more day until the event wraps up.

Creekside 2018 opens with quartet-filled Kickoff Concert

Creekside Kickoff Concert 2018
Creekside Diaries, volume one: Sunday, October 28, 2018
By Kristen Stanton
The air is buzzing with excitement here in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Cars and buses are pulling into the Smoky Mountain Convention Center ready for a big week here at the Creekside Gospel Music Convention.
People are greeting each other with hugs or shouts from across the parking lot and it’s clear that “We Are Family” is more than just a slogan – it’s a feeling.
Now in its seventh year, this event has taken on an identity different from anything else in the industry.
Packed full of singing and special events, this year kicked off with a bang with Quartet Night. The Pine Ridge Boys, The Chordsmen, and Common Bond Quartet sang to a standing room only audience that left the crowd excited for the Monday night concert. The capacity crowd filed in when the doors opened at 6:30 p.m. and stayed until the last note was sung.
The spark is in the air – and if you’re here, you can feel it. The pastor at church this morning reminded us that God’s presence changes everything. The three quartets that sang tonight certainly ushered in the presence of God.
Is revival starting? Maybe. I can’t wait to find out!

Rob Patz celebrates 7 years for Creekside

Creekside 2018
Welcome to the October 2018 Publishers Point by Rob Patz

Rob Patz and Richard Hyssong at SGNScoops booth, NQC 2018
As I sit down to write this, we have just closed the National Quartet Convention for another year. It was awesome. Thanks to everybody who worked so hard to put together a fantastic event.

The Nelons at Creekside 2017
Now we look forward to Creekside 2018 and all that it has in store. I’m excited about this year for many reasons. One, I get a chance to introduce you to the people who read our magazine, some of my new friends who are going to be there this year to sing, plus reacquaint you with some old friends who have been with us since the start.
As I was writing this, I begin to think of what all went into the planning process of the first year of Creekside; how underprepared I really was and how awesome God was to step in and bring people of value from day one who would help with everything from seating the people to arranging the midnight prayer time.
So today, I want to share with you my heart. I want to tell you a little bit about what I hope you experience this year when you come and visit us for Creekside 2018.
I want you to experience the friendships that are cultivated during this time. You’re going to get the opportunity to meet new artists and new fans; people that you may never have heard of before. My prayer is that the time you leave this week they will be like old friends.

C.T. Townsend at NQC. Photo by Chip Woods. C.T. Townsend will also be appearing at Creekside Gospel Music Convention Oct. 28-Nov.1
I hope you enjoy the experience of listening to new music and hearing new speakers. I hope above all that during the time we’re together for four and a half days, that we point you in the direction of Christ. We can spend an entire year planning an event, but that event will fall short if we don’t point you to Christ and a personal relationship with him.
During the next few weeks, you will see items on social media about everything that we are doing as we prepare. In my head, I began counting down the days several months ago. I’m ready to see what God has in store. I believe there is going to be a move of God this year. I’m excited about C.T. Townsend being with us and preaching in a way that only he can, stirring the souls of all listeners.

Creekside 2018
If you told me seven years ago that I would still be planning this event and that it would’ve grown to the size that it is now, where it takes a crew of people months on end to organize, I could not have imagined it. But here we are in countdown mode, getting ready to see everyone we love and excited to meet new people.
A couple of years ago we realized that at Creekside, “we are family,” and that became our slogan. I truly begin to embrace it because at the end of the day, family is so important to what we’re doing.
So come join us for Creekside 2018. We want to fill the Smoky Mountain Convention Center with praise and prayer over four days. Join me this year and become part of our family.

Rob Patz
