THE ERWINS POISED FOR BANNER YEAR WITH GRAMMY® NOMINATION, DOVE AWARD AND NEW HIT SINGLE
Written by SGN Scoops Staff on January 7, 2021 – 12:15 pm -NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Fueled by their recent Dove Award win, a single currently climbing radio charts, and a new album on the horizon, StowTown Records’ breakout sibling quartet The Erwins are stepping into 2021 with their first-ever GRAMMY® Award nomination. The Texas-based group’s 2019 What Christmas Really Means is nominated for a GRAMMY® in the Best Roots Gospel Album category alongside recordings by such legendary artists as The Crabb Family, Fisk Jubilee Singers, Mark Bishop and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound.
Lauded for their modern take on classic Southern Gospel harmonies, The Erwins celebrated another milestone last fall as “The Power Of An Empty Tomb” earned the Dove Award for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year. The Joel Lindsey-penned ballad is featured on the siblings’ acclaimed 2018 recording Watch & See.
In addition, the quartet’s latest single— a reimagined new rendition of Casting Crowns’ hit “Nobody”— is currently impacting Southern Gospel radio charts. The genre-spanning track from The Erwins’ latest project, Favorites: On Repeat, was written by Bernie Herms, Matthew West and Casting Crowns’ Mark Hall.
Keith, Kody, Kris and Katie Erwin have been singing together their entire lives. They grew up performing in countless churches and at events around the country with their parents, who have served as full-time evangelists for more than 40 years. The group’s 2011 debut, What Really Matters, featured the Erwin brothers, with Katie officially joining the lineup later that year on the follow-up project, Jesus In A Song. In the decade since, The Erwins have released six subsequent recordings, as well as the GRAMMY®-nominated What Christmas Really Means. The group has been featured on various multi-artist collaborations, including Fanny Crosby: Newly Discovered Hymns and Songs, a StowTown Records release showcasing selections by Jason Crabb, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, The Collingsworth Family, Charles Billingsley and Rhonda Vincent, among others.
StowTown Records was founded in 2011 by Ernie Haase and Wayne Haun and welcomed partners Landon Beene and Nate Goble in 2014. A powerhouse independent Gospel music label, StowTown is home to renowned pop/Inspirational artists Charles Billingsley, Cana’s Voice, TaRanda Greene and Jody McBrayer, as well as acclaimed comedian Tim Lovelace, and some of Southern Gospel’s biggest names, including Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Doug Anderson, The Browns, Tiffany Coburn, The Collingsworth Family, The Erwins, The Guardians, Trey Ivey, The Kramers, The Little Roy & Lizzy Show, Devin McGlamery, The Perrys, The Steeles, The Taylors and Triumphant. Distributed worldwide via Provident/Sony Distribution, StowTown Records artists have garnered multiple GMA Dove Awards and chart-topping releases.

Beyond the Song: The Erwins sing Christmas
Written by Staff on December 18, 2019 – 11:27 am -Jantina Baksteen visited with the Erwins lately and talked to them about their new Christmas album, “What Christmas Really Means.” These siblings have been very busy this year, but also added a Christmas tour to their schedule. Keith, Kody, Kris, and Katie continue to grow their ministry and their fan base with each recording. Kris commented on this holiday offering, their seventh project, and what the season is all about for this family.
“The Christmas season has always been a huge and special time for The Erwin household,” says Kris. “We usually take a lot of time off in December to be with family, but this year we are so excited to be doing our first Christmas tour with the new album. For this album, we wanted to mix some old songs with some new songs while keeping the theme of proclaiming the birth of Christ. We believe we have found the perfect songs that every age can enjoy and be pointed to the Savior. We are looking forward to sharing these songs and this season with you all.”
We hope you enjoy this new Christmas song by The Erwins. Look for more of Jantina Baksteen’s interview with the Erwins in the January issue of SGNScoops. Special thanks to each of these gospel artists for taking a moment to share your hearts with Janitina and with SGNScoops. You can find The Erwins on the web, and look for them on Facebook HERE.

About the Erwins (Bio from the Erwins Facebook page)
Keith says, “Singing is all we know and all we want to do. It’s our life and our joy to serve the Lord with the voices He has given us. We will gladly go through any door He chooses to open, no matter how big or small. We know the Lord doesn’t need us, but He chooses to use us, and for that we are thankful.” And it’s with that determination and focus that The Erwins are blazing new trails in Southern Gospel, proving to their industry peers and fans alike, that the future of Southern Gospel music is, in fact, secure with a young group like The Erwins coming on the scene.

StowTown Records Announces Release of The Erwins’ “Watch & See”
Written by SGN Scoops Staff on August 27, 2018 – 12:13 pm -Nashville, TN – StowTown Records is proud to announce the successful release of Watch & See by The Erwins. Performing at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO, on their August 24 release day, they wowed audiences by debuting many of the songs from the new project.
The family group, comprised of siblings Keith, Kody, Kris and Katie Erwin, displays harmonies only achieved by familial voices. Their talents are highlighted on Watch & See, and the passion you hear in each note comes from a genuine place of worship.
“We take finding the lyrics God would have us carry with us very seriously,” shares Keith Erwin. “We cannot wait to let the world hear the lyrics He has given us through these amazing songwriters. There is no doubt in my mind that each song was divinely sent to us for this particular season in our ministry. We are excited and humbled to see what God is going to do to help others.”
The first single from the project, “Watch & See,” is also the first co-write for Kris Erwin. Penned with seasoned writers Jason Cox and Kenna West, “Watch & See” is being well received by radio listeners nationwide. Ernie Haase, co-founder of StowTown Records, also happened to be performing at Silver Dollar City on The Erwins’ release day and invited them to perform their new single during the Ernie Haase & Signature Sound set at the Echo Hollow Amphitheatre that evening. The standing ovation they received couldn’t have spoken louder for The Erwins.
Haase surprised the group that morning, during their first show of the day, and expressed his excitement about their new project. “I’m here to celebrate your release,” Ernie said to a shocked Katie Erwin. After inviting them to crash his party that evening, Ernie continued, “I’ve been in the music business for 30 years now, and I’ve seen a lot of people come and go. These guys are the real deal, and we (StowTown Records) are very proud of them.”
Watch & See is available at retail and digital outlets worldwide and is distributed by Sony/Provident Distribution.
