Written by Staff on December 13, 2015 – 10:28 am -

donna dking song of noelDonna King released a lovely Christmas album last year that many of you have heard and enjoyed. With lovely vocals and creative arrangements, Donna, along with her husband Zane, have blessed us in all seasons of the year with beautiful music.

We asked Donna about her favorite Christmas memory, she shared the following with us:

Zane and Donna King

Zane and Donna King

“Here’s my favorite Christmas memory! Christmas 2015, when all of our children and Zane and I and our grandkids will gather in Lake Arrowhead, California and celebrate Christmas together in a sweet cabin on the edge of the lake with a fire burning, matching pjs… And matching love. Everyone will be safe and well and happy and drug free. I couldn’t ask for a better memory than the one we’re about to make!”

Donna, we hope the memories you are making are as sweet as you have shared with us! And we are looking forward to a possible song from the lyrical thoughts above. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

At SGN Scoops we hope you have…and are making…wonderful Christmas memories!  You can share them with us on our Facebook page here.

Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas season!

ALLEGIANCE TRIO

SGN Scoops recently asked several artists for their prayers for this Christmas season. You can read many of them in the December 2015 issue of SGN Scoops digital magazine. Our friends, Allegiance Trio, shared the following special prayer:

“Our wish for everyone this Christmas is to hug your family and friends a little tighter and enjoy every moment together. We live in a fast-paced, crazy world that unfortunately can allow us to fall into a routine that leaves out quality time with loved ones. This Christmas, let’s stop and appreciate the time we have with the people God has blessed us with in our lives.”

imageThanks so much to Allegiance for sharing their thoughts with us this holiday season. What is your prayer for this Christmas? Do you long for peace on earth or peace in your heart? Email us about your 2015 Christmas Prayer at sgnscoops@gmail.com.

Mark Dubbeld Family on Gospel Greats this week

Mark Dubbeld Family

Mark Dubbeld Family

Nashville, TN (December 7, 2015) –The Mark Dubbeld Family to be featured artists on Gospel Greats Radio program to be aired nationally on December 12, 2105.

Hosted by Paul Heil, the Artist Spotlight segment of the Gospel Greats features music and interviews of artists that listeners get to know by hearing their heart for ministry.

“Warm Family Christmas” is a masterfully produced CD that paints a clear message about the gift of Jesus on that Bethlehem night.  The Mark Dubbeld Family is renowned for inspired originally penned songs, family harmony and a sincere desire to communicate the Gospel.  The project includes music that is original and some great standards.

Mark Dubbeld Family

Mark Dubbeld Family

Unique to The Mark Dubbeld Family is that they utilized their own gifts for writing and then set the lyrics to that special blend of tight family vocals.  Mark Dubbeld has a long history in Gospel music and stands with his wife Janene who is an accomplished writer.  As parents, Mark and Janene love the music but most especially the message and have raised Elena Dubbeld, 19-year-old daughter, as the group’s soprano.  “The world that my brothers and I will face is different than my parents.  I take my place on stage to demonstrate to my generation that we need to stand firm!”  Rounding out The Mark Dubbeld Family are sons Channing and Britton.  Both of these talented young men provide vocals and a special touch of excitement for such tender years.  At just 11 years old, Britton would rather play outside, but when it is time to share Jesus, he is standing right in the middle!

In addition to their singing, the web site features a full resource center where visitors can also purchase children’s books.  The books are just one way that when you meet this family, you know that raising children God’s way is where The Mark Dubbeld Family’s focus is.

newdubbeldpromo5The Mark Dubbeld Family lives with a song to sing, a word to write and a call to answer.

Christmas with Bryan and Yvonne Hutson

Written by Staff on December 5, 2015 – 4:02 pm -

hutson2

Why did you decide to do Christmas concerts?
“I decided to do Christmas concerts to take a break from my normal routine of group presentations (Soul’d Out and Kingsmen) to focus a few weeks on our (Yvonne and myself ) ministry.”

Soul'd Out Quartet

Soul’d Out Quartet

When did you begin doing this?
“I actually began doing Christmas solo dates during my first tenure with the Kingsmen in 1996. I was invited to take part in a Toys for Tots Benefit program in southern Indiana (where I’m from) and it so much fun, that I decided to make my Christmas concerts a part of my Holiday tradition. Now, since Yvonne and I have launched Rescue Me Ministries, we are incorporating our ministry focus into our programs.”

What is a typical Christmas concert?
“That’s the thing, we are able to adapt to any type of program. If the Pastor/Promoter wants strictly Christmas music, or a mixture of Christmas with Soul’d Out/Kingsmen music or music and testimony —  we can do that. One service/concert, we’ll actually be working with the church’s praise team. So we change to fit the situation.”

Bryan and Yvonne Hutson

Have you changed your presentation or your approach to these over the years?
“We’ve changed a little. Our focus has always been pointing people to the babe in the Manger that became our Savior. We have just added our personal testimonies to the programs.”

How much preparation goes into the program and when do you start preparing?
“We begin a few weeks out in ‘re-learning’ those Christmas songs that we only sing a few weeks of the year. The older I get, the harder it is to remember words!) We take our programs very seriously.”

image

Bryan and Yvonne Hutson

What is your primary goal for these?
“To bring a little Christmas cheer to the folks that support our ministry. I have heard that the holiday season is a very depressing time for a lot of people. We want to encourage the family, challenge moms and dads to be the parents that God created them to be and lift up the name of Jesus.”

What is a typical Christmas at the Hutson household?
“We began a tradition of attending Christmas Eve service together. It is such a blessing to stand and sing songs about the birth of our King on Christmas Eve. We light candles in memory of those we’ve lost and will read the Christmas story before we go to bed.”

Bryan and Yvonne Hutson

What was Christmas like when you were growing up?
“Christmas for me (Bryan) was hard. Dad began battling health problems so money for presents was tight. There were never a lot of gifts, but plenty of love. We’d all gather at my Grandparents house on Christmas Eve and eat dinner and fellowship. In fact, that’s still a tradition at Grandma’s house. Last year, they counted 48 people in a VERY small house! Yvonne and I go over Christmas Day!”

Bryan adds, “If anyone would like to purchase our Christmas CD, they can write us at rescuemeministries988@gmail.com Or search ‘Rescue Me Ministries’ or ‘Friends of Bryan Hutson’ on Facebook. We pray that everyone will have a blessed Christmas and strive to live for Christ everyday!”

I have attended Bryan and Yvonne’s Christmas program and can attest that it is uplifting and inspiring.

Christmas Prayer From Jay Parrack

Christmas Prayer From Jay Parrack

My Christmas prayer is for our country to see God’s love in the midst of all that’s going on these days and to hopefully turn to Him in these last days
Merry Christmas

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 1 John 4:16
