Diana Thomas of Fresh Well Media stated “This is the most emotional and transparent concept video Fresh Well Media has done to date. This video will change your life”.

Dove Award nominees Jeff & Sheri Easter fine tune plans for their annual Homecoming May 11-13
Written by SGN Scoops Staff on April 4, 2012 – 4:08 pm -Jeff & Sheri Easter are anticipating their fourth annual Homecoming to bring the best of Southern Gospel music to
Lincolnton, GA.
Among the world-class award-winning talent coming to help raise funds for the Lewis Family Homeplace Restoration Fund are Ivan Parker, the Perrys and the Primitive Quartet.
“We’re so excited to be bringing in Ivan Parker, The Perrys and The Primitives for this year’s event,” Sheri said. “Our goal when we began was to introduce our hometown to some of the best in southern gospel music and these artists were the people’s choice from last year’s questionnaires!”
There will also be special appearances by Little Roy Lewis and Lizzy Long Show and The Lewis Tradition.
“Of course, everyone always loves The Lewis Family in this area, so by having Little Roy Lewis & The Lizzy Long Show along with Lewis Tradition, you get the best of the still traveling Lewis Family members,” Jeff said. “The family traveled an amazing 58 years and have made many friends throughout their career. They’re always a crowd-pleaser.”
The Jeff & Sheri Easter Homecoming at the Lewis Family Homeplace, 1935 Lewis Family Road, in Lincolnton, Ga. is Friday, May 11, 2012 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 12, at 6 p.m. and new this year Sunday, May 13 at 3 p.m. Adult admission is $20 per day for Friday and Saturday and $15 on Sunday. Admission for all three days is $50. Children 12 and under are free.
In addition to an added day attendees will get a peak at a piece of history.
“Every year, we like to offer the visitors something new to see at the homeplace,” Sheri said. “Sometimes it’s the dresses that they girls wore on stage that Mom Lewis made in the early 50′s and 60′s or the first television set the family purchased to see their appearances on WJBF-TV.
“This year, we are bringing a work-in-progress…a 1956 GMC Sliverside bus like the first bus the family purchased,” she said. “The bus will be on display for the event. It is being preserved by Jeff and a few devoted fans who want to honor the family in this manner.”
The event is hosted by Jeff & Sheri Easter who will appear all three days.
As the GMA honors the greatest in gospel music on April 19, once again Jeff & Sheri are included among the nominees for a Dove Award for Country Recorded Song of the Year “I Get To” from their Expecting Good Things CD – written by Wil Nance, Sherrie Austin and Steve Williams.
“Jeff and I are always honored whenever our music is nominated, and the Dove Awards have always been very good to us and our families,” Sheri said. “This song, “I Get To,” is very special to us, as we chose to record it during my recent battle with breast cancer in 2008. It simply offers perspective…we don’t HAVE to do the things we do, take care of Grandma, wake up early, go to work…we GET to! It’s an eye-opener!”
The group has won a Grammy nomination, six Dove Awards, and many other industry awards for songs, albums, group of the year and other accolades. Beginning 16 years ago they became a regular part of the Gaither Homecoming Video series, sharing their music on over 15 million videos sold.
The group has won two Grammy nominations, six GMA Dove Awards, 15 Singing News Fan Awards, three Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music Association Awards, two International Country Gospel Music Association honors, 16 Voice Awards, four Southern Gospel Music Fan Fair Awards, five SGN Scoops Diamond Awards, four Hearts Aflame Awards and three Cash Box Awards.
Jeff & Sheri’s performances now include the contributions of their three children Madison, Morgan and Maura Easter and drummer Kyle Calloway as they share a love of Jesus through their music and uplifting experiences of life on stage. The Easter children each add dimensions to the show – vocally, musically and even with uplifting comedy.
Their latest CD “ Silver Anniversary” from SpringHill Records, available from iTunes and retail stores, honors their 25 years of marriage, music and love.
Homecoming attendees should bring a lawn chair. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit Lewis Family Homeplace Restoration Fund honoring the career of Georgia’s three-time Hall of Fame members The Lewis Family. Oak Ridge Boys Celebrate Honors With ‘Gospel Friends’
Written by Kelly on April 27, 2010 – 5:40 pm -By Kelly Capriotti Burton
Many artists known as southern gospel royalty graced the stage of the Southern Gospel Music Guild Harmony Honors, held last week at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN, including The Perrys, Karen Peck and New River, Jeff and Sheri Easter, The Nelons, Jason Crabb, and Guy Penrod. It was a chance to showcase many of the steller songs and performers on top in SG right now, and for one group whose place in gospel music was further cemented by SGMG’s Presidential Honor, it was a time to celebrate and connect with gospel friends.
SGMG President Judy Nelon presented the long-standing quartet, Oak Ridge Boys, with the honor near the start of the evening. The group sang several songs, including their 1969Dove Song of the Year “Jesus is Coming Soon” and their most recent charting single, “Mama’s Table” (for which writer Jamey Johnson joined them on stage).
Soon after, to the delight of a decidedly traditional southern gospel crowd, Oak Ridge Boys returned to the stage to sing “Everyday” with Triumphant Quartet – the song has been a hit for both groups, years apart. The encore? A verse and chorus of the iconic “Elvira.”
The Oak Ridge Boys watched the rest of the concert from the front row, but after it ended, group member, spokesperson and popular Twitter-user Joe Bonsall organized a “tweet-up” with his gospel music/social-networking friends.
The reaction?
@chrisunthank : Cool meeting @joebonsall tonight! I’m officially starstruck!
![]()
@libbistuffle: @joebonsall gr8 seein u tonight! Y’all rocked the house!
@MaddyFatty (aka Madison Easter): Been hangin with @joebonsall all night. Had a blast! Loved seeing all our friends!
@rodburtonmusic: Cool to see you @joebonsall . Y’all rocked it tonight!
@joebonsall: Great to have had the chance to spend time with our friends in Southern Gospel tonight. So many fine folks. The award was a real honor!

Three time Hall of Famers The Lewis Family will appear for one final concert
Written by Scoops Staff on October 15, 2009 – 12:51 pm -

Grammy nominees Jeff & Sheri Easter will join them
One of Georgia’s most notable musical artists, The Lewis Family, officially retired in September, but the group was coaxed to appear in concert once again in their home state of Georgia.
“We are so excited to be coming together one last time for our friends here at home and for the folks at WJBF who have been so supportive of us all through the years,” said Little Roy Lewis.
Members of the First Family of Bluegrass Gospel will gather to appear in concert Saturday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. in Lincolnton, Ga. at the Lewis Family Pavilion. Jeff & Sheri Easter will also appear. Tickets are $10 and children 12 and under are free. Tickets are available only at the gate.
Attendees should bring lawn chairs in the event available seating is exceeded. Attendees should also dress appropriately for an outdoor concert.
Little Roy said he looks forward to jamming with visiting musicians with some parking lot pickin’ from noon until 4 p.m. prior to the concert.
The Lewis Family television show went on the air in 1954 and ran until 1992 when the family began producing its annual Christmas special. This event will be taped for use as the group’s 55th annual Christmas Show to air on WJBF in Augusta.
The Lewis Family are members of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and hold numerous awards including Doves, SPBGMA awards, and others.
The family began with the marriage of the late Roy “Pop” and Pauline “Mom” Lewis and their children began performing in 1951. As their fifty-eighth year of performing about 200 times a year covering 100,000 miles comes to a close, the group includes siblings Little Roy Lewis, Janis Lewis Phillips, Miggie Lewis, and the ailing Polly Lewis Copsey with third generation member Lewis Phillips. Other members of the family may make special appearances in recognition of this special event.
Two of those former members include Polly’s son-in-law and daughter, Jeff & Sheri Easter. They have distinguished themselves in a highly awarded career of their own including five Dove awards, a Grammy nomination and through their association with the Gaither Homecoming video series selling over 15 million videos.
“I am excited that we are giving people in Georgia a chance to come together and honor the family’s legacy,” Sheri said. “It will be a great opportunity for people to come and say thank you for all the things the Lewis Family has done for gospel music and our hometown and in turn a chance for all of us in the family to extend thanks for the many years of friendship from all those who included the Lewis Family as part of their lives.”
