GOSPEL MUSIC ASSOCIATION’S 43RD ANNUAL GMA DOVE AWARDS ANNOUNCE NOMINATED ARTISTS YOLANDA ADAMS, THE TENORS & TEDASHII JOIN STELLAR LINE UP OF TALENT TO PERFORM LIVE ON AWARDS SHOW

Atlanta, GA- (April 3, 2012) -The Gospel Music Association (GMA) today announced that music legend Yolanda Adams, nominated for Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year for Becoming, will perform, along with nominated artists The Tenors and Tedashii, at the 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards.

These accomplished artists will join the powerhouse talent already announced as performers for the awards show, including: Lecrae, Natalie Grant, Donnie McClurkin, Jason Crabb, Jamie-Grace, Kim Burrell, Kari Jobe, Danny Gokey, Ruben Studdard, Mandisa and The Isaacs .

The GMA released the news today that the presenters for the event will include GRAMMY nominated R&B artist and Worship Leader Montell Jordan.  He is known to millions for his iconic songs This is How We Do It and Let’s Ride and the soundtracks to The Nutty Professor, 8 Mile, Save the Last Dance and The Fighting Temptations.  Montell Jordan has served as the Worship Leader at Victory World Church in Atlanta since 2010.

Actress and music artist Tamela Mann, of Meet the Browns and Madea fame, is set to present at the ceremony.  She is acclaimed for her soulful soundtracks on Meet the Browns and Diary of a Mad Black Woman.

Aaron Lindsey is the Gospel music industry’s top-selling producer.  His most recent work Love God, Love People which he co-produced with longtime collaborator Israel Houghton and industry legend Tommy Sims was awarded a GRAMMY for Best Pop/Contemporary Album.  He produced the RIAA Gold-Certified Thirsty for Pastor Marvin Sapp which charted in the Billboard Top 10 for an unprecedented 105 weeks. Lindsey also produced Pastor Sapp’s Here I Am which set a record for Highest Charting Gospel Album in Billboard history.

The 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards will take place on April 19 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.  The award show is produced by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) to offer the most comprehensive platform celebrating Christian and Gospel music.  The awards ceremony will be nationally televised on GMC TV on April 24 at 8:00PM and 10:00PM ET.

Appalachian entertainer Randall Franks has a new award and a new film

Appalachian entertainer and actor Randall Franks, “Officer Randy
Goode” from TV’s “In the Heat of the Night,” attended a whirlwind of
events in the past few weeks including the National Quartet
Convention, Bill Monroe’s Centennial Celebration, Southern Gospel
Music Association Hall of Fame Inductions, Singing News Fan Awards and
International Bluegrass Music Association Awards and Fan Fest and the
Grand Master Fiddler Championship.

Randall Franks and the Georgia Mafia Bluegrass Band was recently
awarded the ASE Bluegrass Band of the Year for 2011.

“It is an honor to be recognized for the efforts you make to create a
unique and meaningful sound with your music,” Franks said. “I am
grateful to all those who care about what I do and I thank you for
your support. I also thank the great musicians which make it
possible.”

Franks is currently doing a media tour promoting his latest film
“Decision” where he stars with Natalie Grant, Billy Dean and Mike
Rosenbaum.

“This is a heartwarming story of a family overcoming tragedy,” Franks
said. “I am honored to share a special appearance as ‘Principal Nate
Foster’ helping to guide this family in a positive direction.”

The film, the first of five he completed this year, airs Sunday,
October 16 at 7 and 9 p.m. EST on GMC.

Franks has shared interviews with over 1,400 radio stations in
country, folk, bluegrass and gospel music in recent weeks about the
film, working with Bill Monroe’s Blue Grass Boys and to raise money
for tornado victims in his hometown of Ringgold, Ga.

Daywind Songwriter Gerald Crabb Brings Home Multiple GMA Dove Awards

Hendersonville, TN (April 21, 2011) – The 42nd annual GMA Dove Awards celebrated another great year in Gospel music last night at the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.   Hosted by Sherri Shepherd, the sold out crowd enjoyed performances by some of the top artists in the industry, including Chris Tomlin, Kirk Franklin, Steven Curtis Chapman, Natalie Grant, Jason Crabb, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound and many more.   The top winners of the night were Francesca Battistelli, Chris August, Point of Grace and Jason Crabb, with each receiving three Dove Awards.   The final award of the evening, Song of the Year, was presented to Jason Crabb’s, “Sometimes I Cry,” written by his father, Daywind songwriter, Gerald Crabb and published through Christian Taylor Music.   Gerald was also awarded overall Songwriter of the Year: a category in which fellow nominees included Chris August, Jason Ingram, Joel Lindsey and Wayne Haun.

The Pre-Show Ceremony, held on Wednesday afternoon in the Fox Theatre’s Egyptian Ballroom, was hosted by Jason Crabb and featured performances by Guy Penrod, Nicole C. Mullen, and others.  Highlights of the afternoon included an impromptu moment when Jason Crabb invited his brother, Aaron, and Karen Peck Gooch to join him on stage for an incredible rendition of “Through the Fire” that brought the crowd to its feet.  Brian Free sang his hit song, “Never Walk Alone,” during a special segment honoring industry professionals and artists who have passed away this year, including his own mother and father.

The 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards will be televised on the Gospel Music Channel, Easter Sunday, April 24th, at 8:00 p.m ET.
