To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds…In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.”

Daniel 1: 17, 2

How can you live in faith while respecting a society that wants nothing to do with God? Remember Daniel went from Hebrew captive to an influential advisor to kings in both the Babylonian (modern day Iraq) and later Persian (modern day Iran) empires.  God used the life of Daniel to demonstrate how we too can live a life of influence and faith, even when worlds views clash.

How can we  live a faithful life in a world walking further away from Biblical beliefs and values? (Straight From The Heart Ministries)

Live Like Daniel!

“The LORD’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him. Rejoice in the LORD
and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!” Psalm 32:10,
11

God controls and allows every detail of our lives. Nothing happens without His knowledge and approval.

Every day, little changes in schedule or small irritations occur. Everyday, we can
choose to let these obstacles upset us, or we can rest in the knowledge that God lovingly ordained them as small irritants to help us look to and rely on Him.

For example, we can grumble about the frustrating traffic jam that is keeping us from getting somewhere on time, or we can remember that God knows about our deadlines and view the time sitting in traffic as an opportunity to pray. We can complain, or we can rejoice.

May we allow the knowledge that we are continually surrounded by God’s
unfailing love to permeate our lives and chase away our complaints and fears.

Weekend Word With Vonda Armstrong- A Day To Honor Life

Written by scoopsnews on May 25, 2019 – 6:57 am -

“We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.” 1 John 3:16

In scripture and in military service, the willingness to give up one’s life is not dependent on the worthiness of the people who benefit from the honorable act.  Memorial Day is an important holiday that remembers those that died for our country, and serves to remind people of the costly price of war.

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8

We are blessed to be living in a free society. May we honor our American soldiers for the liberty we have in this country. May we also give thanks to Almighty God for the freedom we have to spend eternity with Him because of His gift of forgiveness through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Do You KNOW HIM?

God has made it possible for YOU to know Him and experience an amazing change in your own life. If you would like to speak with someone about this, Inbox us HERE

If you have a prayer request, type it in the comment box below. I will pray for you!

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God.

David experienced trouble. He survived by trusting in the Lord.

David also wrote. “Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still” (Psalm 4:4)

Many of us have lost the ability to meditate on God.

When we lay down at night, we toss and turn and worry about our problems instead of calmly meditating and trusting God.

We need to trust God. Trusting Him gives us strength to face each day with confidence…

Until next week, Jesus loves you and so do I!

Philippians 2:3-5 “(3) Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; (4) do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. (5) Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,”

CS Lewis said it like this: “Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less”.
Let us be a people who do not obsess with our own issues and self-image. May we always strive harder to keep our focus on God.

Until next week, Jesus loves you and so do I!

Can you believe the weekend is here? It’s Easter weekend. What does Easter mean to you?

To me, Easter me is not about a bunny. It’s about the cross. It’s about Jesus’ love for us and His willingness to give up His life for ours. It’s about the sacrifice He made so we could live forever with Him.

Have you ever wondered what Jesus thinking about as he died on the cross? Was he tempted to fear death? Hebrews gives us a clue in referencing Psalm 22, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

One thing is for sure. There is no way for us  to appreciate the  horrific experience of having the sins of the world put upon the Lord Jesus as He hung in excruciating pain from that cross. The physical pain was immense.  The spiritual one must have been even greater.

This shows us clearly how much God loves us.

Enjoy spending time with your family this weekend celebrating the true meaning of Easter!

He is Risen!

Luke 15:4-5 King James Version (KJV)

What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

When I was a young girl growing up in Heflin, Alabama, I remember hearing many bible stories in Sunday School.

Jesus taught in stories or parables. Have you ever wondered why? I have, so I looked for the answer and found it.   A parable is basically an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. When Jesus started telling parables to the people, His disciples asked the obvious question, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” (Matthew 13:10)

Jesus Answered!

Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given . And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, and seeing you will see and not perceive, for the heart of this people has grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their heart and turn, so that I should heal them’ (Matthew 13:11,14,15)

The parable of The Lost Sheep is a wonderful story told by Jesus to illustrate the love and compassion that God has for those who are His.

The parable is found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, and is in response to Jesus being criticized and attacked by the religious leaders for “eating with sinners”. I love the part when Jesus stops the crowd and begins to tell a story of how a shepherd left his flock of 99 sheep to go find one lost sheep.

This parable displays a beautiful meaning of God seeking out the  sinner who is lost  and rejoicing when they are found. We serve a Good Shepherd whose heart is for us to be found, rescued, and renewed.

I am so thankful He found me! Has He found you?

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! You know I always like to leave you with a song so I couldn’t find one more appropriate than the Crabb Family singing “Shephard ‘s Call.”

Until next week, Jesus loves you and so do I!
