Happy Saturday Friends!

Hope you had a great week.
Yesterday, I played this song on my radio show. It’s the new radio single for Chris Golden.  When the show was over, a lady called and thanked me and said she knew I played it for her.

Her son had been in trouble and this Momma was hurting. She said,” no matter what, he’s still my son.”

Wow, I saw God and a perfect illustration of his love for us.

So today, I wanted to share it with you…
Until next week……. What if it were your son?

Whew, It’s been a week!  I’ve been battling some health issues, but with all that’s going on in the world, my problems seem small. Today, let us be reminded that God is with us no matter what we are going through.

Joshua 1:9 says:

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

God told Joshua to be strong, then he said that he would go with him.  It is comforting to know that we don’t have to face things alone.

Do you have Prayer Requests?
God still answers prayer!  Leave them in the comments below. Our social media team here at SGN Scoops would be honored to pray for your needs.

Here is a beautiful song by The Browders.
Happy Saturday!

Weekend Word With Vonda Armstrong…. I Saw God Today

Written by scoopsnews on October 3, 2020 – 4:04 am -

2 Corinthians 4:8

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Yesterday, I was driving into Heflin, Alabama to do my radio show at WPIL 91.7 FM.  Anne Murray  and  I were singing “loud” , “I sure could use a little good news today.”   Actually, Anne was singing and I was backing her up with some “southern gospel harmony.”    As I was driving  along and taking in God’s beautiful creation all around me,  the world had the  appearance of a great day in the making!

I left early to grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant.  I pulled in, put the car in park, and walked in and ordered my food.

Then everything changed…..

My car came out of park, rolled backwards, hit 2 cars , yet ended up on a curb, parked perfectly parallel to the main road.

There were cars zooming up and down highway 78, a  busy Heflin Street that runs through the small town.

I remember running out and praying under my breath that no one was hurt.  And guess what, No one was hurt!

There were scratches and dents in the vehicles but no one was hurt.

As I walked to my car, that I could not have parked that way if I tried, all I could say was Praise God.

I’ll have to admit, I was shook up, BUT the radio show had to go on. Throughout the day, the wreck never left my mind and I kept whispering this prayer, Lord, what was this all about?

Later in the day, I received a message from someone that watched it all happen while I was about to bite into a delicious breakfast and get to the station.

Someone that hasn’t always had things easy and from time to time has wondered if God  was even present in his life.

He just wanted to assure me that God was driving my car and that he saw it and he believes . I believe it happened for him. This life is not about me or you, it’s about others that need to believe.

Are you struggling today? Is your world crashing in all around you? Are you colliding with others along your way?

Let me encourage you today. God cares about you. You matter so much to Him. He has been there through every trial and he is with you right now.

The same Jesus that came on the scene of my accident today will come on the scene for you.  He is there.  Will you look for him today?

I’m the smallest things, I believe you will find him.

Happy Saturday Morning,!

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.” Mark 1:35

Starting our days with God means leaning on HIS strength rather than OUR strength throughout the day. It means staying focused on who we are and why we’re here. It means following the example of Jesus and starting every day with God – first things first.

Hello Everyone! Hope you had a great week. Have you had an opportunity to speak words of life into someone this week? I would have to say that I have failed at it this week, but I had a friend speak words of love, hope, and kindness into me and it truly changed my week.
My Mother is in a nursing home facility in my hometown of Heflin, Alabama,  and the dreaded virus made its way there. I let fear overtake my thoughts and really just made myself miserable.  I should have been trusting Jesus I know, but the human came out and it could have ruined my entire week, but God.

1 Peter 3:10 says

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.

The Bible teaches us that the tongue is very powerful.

I asked myself, “Vonda, what kind of words are you speaking?”  I prayed and asked God to give me words of life to speak.

John 6:68 · Then Simon Peter answered him · Lord; · to whom shall we go? · thou hast the words of eternal life

That scripture jumped out at me! We, as Christians have the words of Eternal Life , no matter what comes our way!

Dear Jesus,

I pray today for the person reading this. I pray that you will give them words of life. Someone is Dying to hear them.
In Jesus name,

Amen

If we all were sitting in a room and I walked around to each of you this Saturday morning and asked you to share your story, each one would be somewhat different.  Some would be unbelievable. Some pretty ordinary, but the truth is, “We All Have A Story.”
That story is your testimony. Have you ever had a chance to tell your story to someone and it changed their life?  Your story was written to be shared.
I hope you have a great weekend and I want to challenge you to find someone to share your story with today.  Has God done some pretty amazing things in your life? I dare you to share it and watch Him move.
For a long time I kept my story to myself, because of some pain that was in my past.

God convicted me to share it. I’m glad I did! I found out that broken people help broken people .
Feel free to share in the comments below. You never know, your story could end up in SGN SCOOPS MAGAZINE.  There is enough bad on Social media. Can we flood it today with good?

Our God can change Broken into Beautiful!

Jesus is no respecter of persons. It didn’t matter who they were, what they were dealing with, where they came from: He touched them all. That’s Kingdom prerogative. That’s Kingdom Authority. That’s Jesus. That’s the Master Artist at work.

(Sundown)

Eventually the day comes to an end and we’re turning it over in our minds:

Jesus is the source of authority. He has authority over the realm of truth.  He displayed his authority over the spiritual realm.  Physical realm?   Yep, authority their too.

Emotional,  relational?   He has authority over every realm.   Hey is the source of authority.

I wonder: what’s keeping you down?   What consuming you?    Tell him at once. He’ll come to where you are. He’ll reach down to you. There’s no P it today. He stronger than the bully and arm of addiction. He’s more powerful than any reft of relationship. He’ll reach all the way down to wherever you maybe. Go ahead, tell him. At once!

I Still Believe in America

Happy Independence Day everyone.  I’m visiting my kids in Savannah, Tennessee this weekend. Spending time with family is important and I pray each of you are having a great day.
Last week during my radio show, someone messaged me right after I played the National Anthem and said, “thank you for playing that, I still believe in America.”
That statement stuck with me and I will never forget it.  Freedom isn’t free and I do believe in my country and most importantly believe in God.

I love this poem written by Kelly Strong.

Freedom Isn’t Free

by Kelly Strong

I watched the flag pass by one day
It fluttered in the breeze
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease

I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He’d stand out in any crowd

I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers’ tears?

How many Pilots’ planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers’ graves?
No, Freedom isn’t free

I heard the sound of taps one night,
When everything was still
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill

I wondered just how many times
That taps had meant “Amen”
When a flag had draped a coffin
Of a brother or a friend

I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives

I thought about a graveyard
at the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, Freedom isn’t free!

I still believe in America, don’t you?

Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Weekend Word- Even Me & YOU

Hello Friends,

I’m in Oak Gove, Louisiana at Bill Bailey’s Gospel Weekend .

Triumphant Quartet sang this song last night. What a message that we all need to here.

Check out these lyrics!

I’ve heard it all my life, even had it memorized
But it was only words to me, red letters on a page
Just something people say, ’til it brought me to my knees
Those words in John 3:16
For God so loved the world He gave, gave His only Son away
A way to save a wretch like me, me the one who needed grace
Grace to cover every stain, stains that He no longer sees
It’s amazing to believe that God so loved the world means even me
How could He see my sins and forgive me even then
Who would pay that kind of price, I’ve seen what mercy does
He found me where I was, and He gave His life for mine
For God so loved the world He gave, gave His only Son away
A way to save a wretch like me, me the one who needed grace
Grace to cover every stain, stains that He no longer…

John 3:16 , says For God so loved the world.
Insert your name today. For God So loved ________.
It’s personal and He did it Yes for Even Me and YOU!

Weekend Word by Vonda Armstrong

Happy Sunday everyone.
Boy, has it been a week. Yesterday I was at my father- in law’s home-going service so I’m a day late writing this.

My father in law’s health has been declining over the last year . I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that loved living more than him, but it was hard on everyone in the family visiting and seeing him declining. Just 3 hours before he  took his last breath, he was smiling and “cutting up” just like he always was.

The words to this song were used by Pastor Tal Vardaman in the message.

Jack’s Dad was a good man. He was a smart businessman and well liked. The funeral  was flooded with visitors, but none of that is the reason he will spend eternity in heaven.

He graduated to his heavenly home because he had accepted Jesus as his personal Savior.

As the song says doctor, lawyer, beggar, or just a little child, It makes God no difference who walks down the aisle.

The Ground Is Level at Calvary…..

Here’s Perfect Heart singing “The Ground Is Level”

Mark Lanier (former singer with The Bibletones and Perfect Heart) is the writer of this amazing song.
