As Three New Videos from Celebrated CD Hit “YouTube”

Franklin, TN (August 26, 2015) The impact of Gordon Mote’s most recent New Haven Records CD, All Things New, recently increased as a hit single from the album received a Dove Award nomination for “Country Song of the Year” and as three more videos from the project were released to YouTube.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2015, the Gospel Music Association included Mote’s song, “Ain’t It Just Like the Lord,” among the finalists for the 46th Annual Dove Awards. The industry’s flagship award show will take place at Allen Arena in Nashville on October 13 and will be broadcast nationally via the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) on Sunday, October 18.

New Haven Records also announced the release of three new video clips from the multiple Academy of Country Music award-winner: “Meanwhile Back at the Cross,” “The Sound A Dream Makes,” and “Down By the River,” Mote’s current radio single. These clips join more than 200 other performances that have been viewed more than 3.3 million times on YouTube, the world’s largest music and video platform with over one billion registered users.

Ken Harding, president of New Haven Records comments, “There are probably no more loyal music fans in the world than those in Southern Gospel and Country—and probably no more loyal Southern and Country fans than those who love Gordon Mote. We are honored to give them some new videos from this great project while Gordon is finishing up his next one.”

Co-produced by Mote, legendary Country producer Frank Rogers and 8-time Dove-Award winner Wayne Haun, All Things New features a Who’s Who of Gospel and mainstream artists (Trace Adkins, Sheryl Crow, The Gaither Vocal Band, Scotty McCreery, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, and Matthew West). The CD garnered a Dove Ward nomination for Best Country Gospel Album and produced the popular singles, “Faith Like That,” “Meanwhile Back at the Cross,” “Ain’t It Just Like the Lord,” and “The Other Side.”

We are traveling the Road to the 2015 Diamond Awards during this nomination period, by highlighting the definition of each award category. The Anthony Burger Instrumentalist of the Year Award is given to a full-time artist in Southern, Country or Bluegrass Christian music who plays any music instrument with expertise.

This Award is named after Anthony Burger, an extraordinary piano player who played for many years with the Kingsmen Quartet and with the Gaither Homecoming tour. He passed away in 2006 while onstage at a Gaither Gospel Cruise. Burger won the Singing News Award for Favorite Instrumentalist for several years in a row until the Award itself was named after him. The Diamond Award honors this gentleman for his unique abilities by naming our award after him.

On November 4th, 2014, the Diamond Awards were held at the 2014 Creekside Gospel Music Convention in Pigeon Forge. The winner of the 2014 Anthony Burger Instrumentalist of the Year was Gordon Mote, a popular singer/musician who was blind from birth. Mote has play for such artists as Trisha Yearwood, Porter Wagoner, Gaither Vocal Band as well as the long-running Gaither Homecoming Tour. Mote is also a talented vocalist. He has recorded three instrumental projects and six vocal projects. His latest radio release is entitled,”Wounded Hands.”

Gordon Mote’s New Single “The Other Side” Hits Radio

Written by Staff on March 3, 2015 – 8:29 am -

45th Annual Dove Awards - ShowWife Kimberly Joins Gordon on Album Highlight

Franklin, TN (March 2, 2015) Hot on the heels of Gordon Mote’s “#2 Southern Gospel Radio Single, “Meanwhile Back At the Cross,” New Haven Records has released “The Other Side,” the fourth single from Mote’s Dove Award Finalist CD, All Things New.

Produced by Southern Gospel hit-maker Wayne Haun, “The Other Side” is a touching ballad duet featuring Gordon’s talented wife, Kimberly. Gordon reflects, “The past few years, Kimberly and I have had close friends and family who’ve experienced profound loss. Although we would never minimize someone’s grief, the Gospel truth is that we don’t grieve as those who have no hope. Instead, we live in the confidence that one day the Lord will reunite us with those we love and make all things new.”

The theme of redemption and restoration pervades the entire 13-song project, which was produced by Country Music legend Frank Rogers along with selected cuts by multi-Dove Award winner Wayne Haun.

Since its release, All Things New has become both a critical and fan favorite. Breathecast.com raved that listeners should “be prepared for lots of ‘wow’ moments.”

Strictly Country, called All Things New “…one of the most artistically defined albums we have ever heard…the album that we compare all the others to” and highlighting “The Other Side” as one of the cuts that “…truly captured our souls.” Likewise, Soul-Audio and MusicScribe also singled out “The Other Side” as one of the album’s finest moments.

Through the years, Mote has enjoyed a high profile as a featured performer on The Gaither Homecoming Concert series as well as one of Music City’s most celebrated session players—culminating in two recent Academy of Country Music and Music Row Magazine Awards for Instrumentalist of the Year. Since stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Gordon has recorded an impressive body of work—three instrumental and six vocal albums—including the Dove Award Finalist All Things New (2014), Dove Award-nominated If You Could Hear What I See (2004), Don’t Let Me Miss the Glory (2007), Songs I Grew Up Singing (2012) and his acclaimed Christmas collection, The Star Still Shines (2012).

GAITHER VOCAL BAND Release All-new Recording

Written by SGN Scoops Staff on October 10, 2014 – 12:47 pm -

Gaither Vocal Band

Gaither Vocal Band

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—October 10th, 2014GRAMMY® Award-winning, Gospel Music Association (GMA) Hall of Fame-honored quintet the Gaither Vocal Band is scheduled to release an all-new recording, available everywhere on October 14th.  Sometimes It Takes a Mountain (Gaither Music Group), produced by award-winning group members Bill Gaither and David Phelps along with Ben Isaacs (Oak Ridge Boys, The Isaacs), is the debut release from the quintet’s recently updated line-up which features Bill Gaither, David Phelps, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb and Todd Suttles.
According to Gaither, Adam Crabb and Todd Suttles, the group’s newest members, are not only fitting right into this classic group but adding their own vocal styles, giving the Gaither Vocal Band a fresh sound unlike any it has previously offered.
“This recording is very special to me for a number of reasons,” describes Gaither.  “There is a mixture of vocal textures in this current group that the Vocal Band has never known before:  the classical sound David Phelps brings to the group; the rich, new bass/baritone tones in Todd Suttles’ voice; those smooth, golden tones Wes Hampton brings to the mix; and the passionate, soulful sounds of Adam Crabb…then throw me in there, whatever that is!  What can I say? I’m blessed. I feel fortunate to be on the same bus as these great singers.”
These great singers are showcased on a recording written by some of gospel music’s most respected songwriters including Bill and Gloria Gaither, Mosie Lister, Michael W. Smith, Gerald Crabb, Thomas A. Dorsey and Reba Rambo-McGuire and Dony McGuire, among others.
“There have been a lot of treatments of Mosie Lister’s great old tune ‘Happy Rhythm,’ but I am very partial to our 1950s ‘Jerry Lee Lewis-style’ treatment,” explains Gaither.
That arrangement finds these vocal powerhouses combining traditional quartet harmonies with hints of “doo-wop.” Gordon Mote, one of Music Row’s award-winning musicians, added some catchy, ivory-tickling to round out this “sing-along” number.
As Gaither Vocal Band listeners have come to expect, Sometimes It Takes a Mountain contains epic tunes including the bellowing “Resurrection,” “The Night Before Easter,” “Written in Red” and “We Are Coming Home at Last,” which contains a Civil War-styled treatment that “make it the new ‘I Surrender All,’” according to Gaither.
Crabb’s acclaimed vocals are highlighted on the recording’s first radio single, “Sometimes It Takes a Mountain.” “[This song] shakes the very foundation of all of us controlling types who think we have everything under control,” explains Gaither.  “I believe this song has an important message to which many folks out there can relate.”
The guys have some fun with songs like “Jesus Gave Me Water,” “That’s When the Angels Rejoice” and “When Fear Comes Knocking,” all of which offer that signature blend and approach that has for years given this legendary group a “sound all their own.”
That sound will be featured on a TV campaign which will air on PBS, Dish TV, DirecTV, AT&T Uverse, GaitherTV, TBN, RFD, FamilyNet, CTN, GMTN, Guardian, Liberty, TCT and TLN.  It will air in Canada on Vision TV, CTS, The Miracle Channel and Hope TV.
Sometimes It Takes a Mountain, exclusively distributed by Capitol Christian Distribution, will be available throughout general market stores and the Christian marketplace in addition to online retailers including iTunes, Amazon and www.gaither.com, where it is available now.
The Gaither Vocal Band will be on tour from now through the end of the year and will be a highlight of the Gaither Homecoming Christmas Tour.  A list of tour dates can be found at www.gaither.com.
For further information regarding the Gaither Vocal Band and/or Sometimes It Takes a Mountain, including a video preview with a sampling of music from the CD, visit www.gaither.com or connect on Facebook at www.facebook.com/gaithermusic or on Twitter: @gaithermusic.

Gold City Releases Highly Anticipated Hymn Treasury Hymn Revival Debuts Early Fall

Written by SGN Scoops Staff on June 25, 2014 – 10:08 am -

New Haven Records is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Hymn Revival, Gold City’s first new hymn Gold Cityproject since their immensely popular 1999 release, “Amazing Grace: A Hymn Collection.”

Hymn Revival follows Somebody’s Coming, Gold City’s best-selling and highest charting album in years; and contains beloved hymns along with two new classics, “In Christ Alone” and “The Power of the Cross,” which are poised to pass the test of time. The record also contains older, more traditional hymns such as “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and “I Need Thee Every Hour.”

Co-produced by label-mate and Academy of Country Music Award-winning musician Gordon Mote, Hymn Revival is exactly that: a treasury of classic and current hymns refreshed and re-envisioned by the matchless voices of America’s premiere quartet, Gold City.

Mote reflects, “I’m from Gadsden, Alabama, Gold City’s home town. I grew up admiring them and now I have the incredible honor of co-producing them. You can really feel their energy and personality coming through as they sing these classic songs of the church.”

“I am excited about this project because many of the hymns that I grew up singing have all but disappeared,” says Danny Riley, Gold City’s lead singer. “I love a lot of the new songs, but the old songs of the church have ministered to me through the years and have a special place in my heart. We have also included some modern hymns that I know will become standards in the church.”

Ken Harding, President of New Haven Records concludes, “Matching these timeless hymns with the award-winning vocals of Gold City created an album for the ages. We can’t wait for the world to hear these hymns in a fresh, revived way.”

Hymn Revival releases on New Haven Records early this fall and will be available wherever great gospel music is sold and on iTunes.
