SGN Scoops is sorry to report that Luke White, the gentleman so many of us have been praying for, has received the ultimate healing. Luke passed away on the afternoon of June 28, 2015, at the age of 30. He will be deeply missed by his sister Olivia, brother-in-law Joshua, and the entire White/Jarrell family. Luke will be especially missed by best friend TaRanda Greene.

Just a few short days ago, Luke contracted double pneumonia. From the moment the Gospel music family heard about his illness, they began praying for him and his family. Facebook is now filled with memorials and sweet thoughts of this man who was everyone’s friend. Luke sang with his sister, Olivia White Jarrell and also was close with TaRanda and Tony Greene and their family. He travelled with many different Gospel music artists and was known throughout the industry.

We contacted Kerry McLellan, who was a nanny for TaRanda and Tony’s children, and who got to know Luke well during that time. She tells us, “I met Luke when I was living in North Carolina and travelling with The Greenes. He was a constant on the bus. Luke was always looking out for others and had your back no matter what. there were many nights we would stay up late on the bus watching Dolly Parton videos on You Tube, watching Madea movies or sitting up front with John, chatting while we drove to the next city. Those are some of my most favorite memories from that time in my life.
He was always making other people laugh. He always knew how to light up a room! Also, his shoe collection was better then mine! He was just the sweetest and had the most genuine heart. Belle and Josie (TaRanda’s girls) loved him so much and he loved those girls more then anything and would do anything for them. He’s just going to be very very missed.”

This last statement seems to echo the sentiment of so many.
Rest in peace, Luke White.
